Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 967: Chapter 1010: Underhanded Tricks

Although Huo Jiantian was only five, he really hit hard. When he bumped into her with his elbow, Ling Yueyue immediately felt a sharp pain in her thigh.

Ling Yueyue tried to suppress her anger, but it was rising rapidly. Just as her explosive temper was about to flare up, Huo Junmo was a step ahead, twisting Huo Jiantian’s ear and saying sternly, ”Huo Jiantian, what are you doing? Apologize to your aunt quickly!”

With his ear twisted, Huo Jiantian immediately stood on tiptoe and leaned a little toward Huo Junmo, following his movement. He twisted his little face and cried in pain, ”Ouch... it hurts... Dad... it hurts!”

As for his pained expression, Huo Junmo seemed to not see it at all, reiterating, ”Apologize!”

”...!” Huo Jiantian bit his lip in grievance, tears welling up in his eyes, but he refused to apologize to Ling Yueyue. Instead, he looked at Huo Junmo with a face full of resentment and started singing sadly, ”Only a mother is good in the world. A child with a mother is like a treasure, leaning into a mother’s embrace brings happiness. Only a mother is good in the world, a child without a mother is like a weed, leaving a mother’s embrace, where to find happiness.” While singing, he also forced out two tears.

Listening to his sorrowful and lingering singing, both Ling Yueyue and Huo Junmo twitched their mouths.

”Only a mother is good in the world, a...” Just as Huo Jiantian was about to continue his mournful singing, Ling Yueyue could no longer bear it and surrendered first, ”Okay, okay, forget it! He’s just a five-year-old child, forget it, I’m not angry, and won’t hold a grudge! Let go of his ear!” As she spoke, she carefully pried Huo Junmo’s hand off of Huo Jiantian’s ear.

In response to Ling Yueyue’s request, not only was Huo Jiantian ungrateful, he also huffed heavily, ”Hmph... don’t think that I will thank you because you helped me! I will admit you as my stepmom! You’re just putting on an act for my dad, pretending to be nice, I won’t be fooled!”

”Huo Jiantian, you...!” Just as Huo Junmo was about to lose his temper again, Huo Jiantian saw that things weren’t looking good, tucked his head in, and dashed away.

Seeing Huo Jiantian run off, Huo Junmo retracted his hand that was meant to twist his ear again and said awkwardly, ”Yueyue, I’m sorry, Tiantian is too naughty! I’ll definitely discipline him properly!”

”It’s fine, it’s fine. Kids need to be taught slowly!” Ling Yueyue waved her hand nonchalantly, turned on the faucet to wash her hands clean, and smiled at Huo Junmo, ”Alright, let’s go eat!”

”Mm!” Huo Junmo nodded, washed his hands, and went out of the washroom together with Ling Yueyue toward the dining room.

By the time they reached the dining room, Huo Jiantian was already seated at his place. Huo Junmo did not immediately sit down at his place but went to the seat opposite Huo Jiantian, pulled out a chair, and said to Ling Yueyue, ”Please sit!”

”Thank you!” Ling Yueyue didn’t expect that Huo Junmo would be so gentlemanly, even pulling out a chair for her. After thanking him with a smile, she sat down opposite Huo Jiantian.

Once Ling Yueyue was seated, Huo Junmo then took a seat at the head of the table.

”Let’s eat!” As soon as Huo Junmo’s words fell, Huo Jiantian, like a well-trained soldier, picked up the bowl of rice in front of him and started eating with his head lowered.

Huo Junmo didn’t say anything, eating elegantly.

Ling Yueyue glanced at the father and son, awkwardly tugging at her mouth, picked up her bowl, and began to eat slowly.

When had she ever eaten so slowly and gracefully!

In the past, whether at home or at work, she always ate ravenously! For people like her, time is money! Finish eating quickly, and you can work two more hours, and then you can earn two more hours of wages.

So, over time, she developed the habit of taking big mouthfuls of food!

Eating slowly like this and chewing carefully with her mouth closed just felt awkward and uncomfortable all over to her.

Finally, in this stiflingly awkward atmosphere, the meal was finished! Ling Yueyue instantly breathed a sigh of relief!

When the servants were clearing the dishes, Ling Yueyue hurried to stand up and help.

In the past, whether at her parents’ house or with her aunt, she was the one who cooked and washed the dishes! Even when she occasionally went to her friend Anxin’s house for a meal, she would rush to do the dishes after.

So now, after eating, she habitually wanted to clean up the dishes.

When Huo Jiantian saw her eagerness to work, he was even more disdainful, ”Hmph... truly a bumpkin!”

Huo Junmo glared at him and quickly said with a smile, ”Yueyue, you don’t need to do that; the servants can handle it!”

Ling Yueyue paused, remembering she was at the Huo Family’s house with so many servants, not needing to do it herself, she awkwardly scratched her head and gave a sheepish laugh, ”Sorry, it’s my habit, it’s my habit!”

Huo Junmo said, ”It’s still early. How about I take you to the garden for a walk and get familiar with the surroundings? Since we’re getting married soon, you’ll be the lady of the house here, you’ll need to get familiar with it sooner or later!”

Upon hearing this, Ling Yueyue’s eyes lit up, and she nodded vigorously, ”Sure! A walk after a meal helps with digestion!”

She knew she hadn’t developed romantic feelings for Huo Junmo yet! But since they were getting married, she wanted to nurture their relationship and provide a complete, happy, and harmonious family for the child in her belly!

So if an opportunity arose, she naturally didn’t want to miss any chance to cultivate feelings.

”Alright, let’s go!” Huo Junmo smiled and led the way to the garden.

”I want to go too, I want to go too!” Ling Yueyue was just about to catch up when Huo Jiantian suddenly sprang up and rushed in front of Ling Yueyue. As he passed by her, he very ’accidentally’ stepped on her foot! Then he turned back and made a smug face at Ling Yueyue.

”...!” Ling Yueyue’s brow twitched, her fists clenched and unclenched, unclenched and clenched again, closing her eyes, breathing deeply and more deeply. Only by doing so could she suppress the rising anger in her heart!

This little brat kept challenging her patience and limits!

Seeing her and Huo Junmo heading to the garden for a walk, he immediately scampered along! She wouldn’t naively think he was just going for a walk in the garden, who knows what schemes he had in mind to embarrass her.

Anyway, she was an adult, she wouldn’t argue with him; she endured it!

But don’t push her too far, or she’d definitely teach him a good lesson, let him know how formidable she could be, and see if he dared to keep using these underhanded tricks against her.

After she managed to suppress her inner fury once more, Ling Yueyue finally forced a smile and followed them out.
