Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 961: Chapter 1004: This Must Not Happen Again

After two rings, the call was picked up, and a mature, steady voice came through. ”President!”

”Bring me a set of clean clothes right now.” Huo Junmo threw out the words in displeasure, hung up with a dark expression without waiting for the person on the other end to say anything.

After hanging up, Huo Junmo put his phone on the nightstand and strode into the bathroom.

When he finished showering and stepped out wrapped in a bath towel, a knock sounded from the living room outside.

Huo Junmo walked over and opened the door.

There stood a young man of about thirty at the door, holding a set of clean clothes.

Huo Junmo gave him a faint glance, turned around, and went back inside without a word.

The man immediately followed him in and reached back to close the door.

Huo Junmo sat down on the sofa in the living room, and his hand instinctively reached for his clothes pocket, only to come up empty.

Seeing this, the man immediately took out a pack of cigarettes from his own pocket and held it out to Huo Junmo, smiling. ”President, I’ve got cigarettes here!”

As the president’s personal assistant, he knew that the president normally didn’t smoke, but there was always a pack of cigarettes in the president’s pocket; when he was in a bad mood, he would occasionally smoke two.

Judging from the situation now, it was obvious the president was in a foul mood! He didn’t need to think to know the president must be angry over what happened last night.

Expressionless, Huo Junmo swept a glance over him, but didn’t reach out to take the cigarettes. Instead, he said in an eerily calm tone, ”Meng Bo, you’ve been with me for seven years now, haven’t you?”

He had thought the president would blame him for dereliction of duty, but he hadn’t expected this sudden question. Meng Bo was slightly stunned, then nodded. ”Yes! After I graduated from university, I’ve always worked at Huo Tian Group. It’s only thanks to the president’s appreciation and support; otherwise I wouldn’t have had the chance to stay by the president’s side and share his burdens.”

Leaning back on the sofa, one leg elegantly crossed over the other, Huo Junmo spoke unhurriedly, ”After seven years, I think you should know me quite well. By rights, you shouldn’t be making such a low-level mistake.”

”...!” Meng Bo naturally understood what Huo Junmo meant by that, and his spine instantly went cold as beads of sweat broke out all over him.

Huo Junmo’s gaze was like a torch as he fixed it on Meng Bo, asking coldly, ”Who is that woman?”

”President, I’m sorry, I really don’t know who that woman is! Last night, you were drunk, and President Yan said he’d given you a gift and told me to send you back to your room! At first I didn’t know what kind of gift President Yan meant either, and only when we got back to the suite did I find a woman on the bed! After I settled you down, I wanted to go ask President Yan, but he not only refused to say, he even kept me locked in the private room and wouldn’t let me out, saying I’d disturb your fun! So... so...!” At this point, Meng Bo stopped explaining and instead lowered his head, repeatedly apologizing to Huo Junmo. ”President, I’m sorry, it was my negligence, I failed in my duty. Whatever punishment you give me, I’ll have no complaints! But that woman, I truly don’t know who she is. When I sent you in last night, the room was too dark, I didn’t see clearly!”

Having followed the president for so many years, of course he knew that the president always kept himself clean, never messed around with women. On ordinary days, many women tried to throw themselves at the president, and he was the one who blocked them all.

Last night, he had really been cornered! President Yan and President Gu had him detained; the two took turns watching him, and he couldn’t leave even if he wanted to!

It was only just now, after getting the president’s call, that President Yan and President Gu finally let him go. And it seemed they had been prepared for this; they’d even had clean clothes ready for the president to change into!

Though he felt he was rather innocent, this matter was indeed his dereliction of duty! He should have gotten that woman out of the room the moment he discovered her there last night, instead of stupidly running off to question President Yan.

If he had, maybe what happened last night wouldn’t have happened.

It was just that the president had always been a man of extremely strong self-control; even drunk, he would never lose himself and act on impulse. For him to lose control last night, that... that was against all reason!

After listening to Meng Bo’s explanation, Huo Junmo’s sharp eyes carefully searched his face. Only after a long moment did he speak. ”We’ll let it go this time. There won’t be a next. If there is, you know the consequences.” With that, he stood up, took the clean clothes from Meng Bo’s hands, and went back into the bedroom to change.

After changing, he squatted down and picked up the clothes strewn all over the floor, then transferred the things from the pockets of the old clothes into the pockets of what he was wearing now.

When he fished out the wallet from the clothes pocket, his hand paused. He opened the wallet, and when he saw it was empty, the corner of his mouth couldn’t help but curve in a faint smile.

He glanced at the empty wallet, then at the bloodstain on the bed sheet, and the amusement in his eyes deepened. In the end, he said nothing, put the wallet away, and tossed the dirty clothes to Meng Bo. ”Take them for dry cleaning.”

”Yes.” Knowing he was in the wrong, Meng Bo kept his head down, not daring to look up.

Without looking back, and without the slightest reluctance, Huo Junmo left the presidential suite. Hugging the president’s dirty clothes, Meng Bo hurriedly followed him out.

.........

On the other side, after leaving the hotel, Ling Yueyue didn’t go to school. Instead, she went straight back to her rented place, found a clean set of pajamas, and headed for the shared bathroom.

To save money, Ling Yueyue rented a shared apartment, with only her own bedroom separate. The toilet, kitchen, and bathroom were all communal.

During peak hours, whether it was cooking, showering, or using the toilet, everyone had to line up.

Fortunately, at this time of day, everyone had already gone out to work, leaving only Ling Yueyue at home, so she didn’t have to queue for a shower.

Once inside the bathroom, Ling Yueyue stripped off her clothes and stood in front of the mirror. Seeing the kiss marks scattered all over her body in the reflection, her small face suddenly flushed hot. Her mind involuntarily replayed the wild, heated scenes from last night.

”Ah...!” The more she remembered, the more she couldn’t help but throw her head back and let out a loud yell.

What had she done? Not only had she lost her first time for no reason, she’d even secretly taken the man’s money, making herself look like some hooker who’d sell her body for cash.

But she’d had no choice, really no choice!

Yesterday, her mom back in the countryside had called again asking for money! And this time, she opened her mouth for twenty thousand yuan!

She was just a poor student who studied while working part-time. Where was she supposed to get that kind of money? The more she thought about it, the more ridiculous it seemed.

In other families, it was always parents raising the children; no matter how hard things were at home, they would never let the kids know, only wanting them to focus on their studies.
