Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 975: Chapter 1018: Longing

”Uh...!” Ling Yueyue hesitated for a moment before saying, ”He went too far this time, and I’ve already taught him a lesson. I’m sure he’s learned from it! After all, he’s still a child, his skin is tender, a little medicine will help him recover faster!”

Huo Junmo smiled slightly, ”It’s fine, the longer he feels pain, the longer he’ll remember! Every time Pete feels pain, he’ll remember the lesson you taught him today!”

”...!” Ling Yueyue looked at Huo Junmo in astonishment.

This was the first time she’d heard such words! A child bullied by a stepmother, instead of his father feeling any sympathy, he’s actually saying to let the pain last longer!

What’s... what’s the plan here?

Huo Junmo didn’t continue discussing Huo Jiantian’s issues, and suddenly shifted the topic, saying, ”I’ve checked the dates, a week from now is a good day, suitable for getting married! If you have no objections, let’s have the wedding in a week!”

”A week from now? You’re really fast!” Ling Yueyue looked at Huo Junmo, surprised that after just talking about marriage yesterday, he had already set the date today, quite astonishing speed!

However, she needed it to be as soon as possible too, her belly couldn’t wait that long.

Huo Junmo matter-of-factly said, ”Of course! For businessmen like us, whatever we do, we prioritize efficiency, otherwise you might just be eliminated!”

Ling Yueyue merely thought for a moment and quickly agreed, ”Alright! I have no objections to a week later!”

Huo Junmo said, ”I’ll take care of the invitations! I’ll invite my relatives and friends from my side. As for yours, let me know how many invites and tables you need after calculating, so I can arrange it!”

Thinking of the rural relatives, Ling Yueyue shivered and then shook her head, saying, ”My relatives are all in the countryside, it’s too expensive to have them come up here, let’s forget it!”

Huo Junmo solemnly said, ”Expenses aren’t an issue, I’ll take care of everything! Every woman only gets one wedding in her lifetime, it should be grand, otherwise there would be regrets later!”

”Ahem...!” Ling Yueyue coughed twice, unnaturally saying, ”Forget it, I don’t mind! It’s better not to meet my relatives and friends! Otherwise...!” She didn’t continue, as she really didn’t know how to describe it.

Among those relatives and friends, some are particularly unsophisticated, speaking sharply and bitterly, liking to compare, and like taking advantage of others!

If they knew she was marrying into one of the Jin City Five Young Masters like Huo Junmo, they would definitely not want peace in the future! They would certainly come to her now and then for loans or help! Even if she actually lent them money or helped them, they might not even say thank you or say something nice, they might even think it’s only right that she helps them!

Precisely fearing such things, she rarely goes back during holidays, unless she absolutely has to.

Although she has some good relatives, she’s afraid, if those relatives knew, the others would certainly come on their own! At that time, her wedding might become a joke! The Huo Family would definitely look down on her.

Seeing the hesitation in Ling Yueyue’s eyes, Huo Junmo didn’t press further, gently saying, ”Regarding relatives and friends, it’s up to you. Even if they don’t come, your future parents-in-law should come, right? If they live far away and it’s inconvenient to travel, I can send someone to pick them up!”

Ling Yueyue thought for a while, nodding lightly, ”Uh... I’ll handle it! Don’t worry!”

”Alright, go have dinner! The food is cold! It’s late today, after you eat, I’ll have a servant prepare a guest room for you, don’t go back tonight! Tomorrow I’ll take you to school before work!” Huo Junmo, as if discussing things with a subordinate, waved his hand earnestly, letting Ling Yueyue leave.

”...!” Ling Yueyue glanced at him, stood up, went back to the bathroom, washed off the turtle on her face, cleaned her hands, and returned to the dining room to eat!

After dinner, Ling Yueyue originally planned to go back to the hotel! But seeing the time, it was already after ten, considering the travel time and bathing time once back, she’d get to bed around twelve! She has class at eight tomorrow morning!

After a moment of consideration, Ling Yueyue decided not to insist, returned to the guest room, took a bath, and went to sleep early.

Exhausted from the day’s events and having dealt with Huo Jiantian, she indeed felt tired! She fell asleep soon after lying down!

Once Ling Yueyue was asleep, Huo Junmo also went upstairs, gently opened Huo Jiantian’s room door!

The little guy was already asleep in bed! But, his eyes were still wet, clearly he had cried until just recently before falling asleep!

Huo Junmo sat by the bed, sighed helplessly, reached out to wipe away the tears still on Jiantian’s lashes!

Long, distinctly jointed fingers gently stroked Huo Jiantian’s fair and soft little face, his eyes full of pity and helplessness!

After watching Huo Jiantian for a while, Huo Junmo returned to his own room, bathed, and laid down on the bed, involuntarily taking a photo from the bedside cabinet drawer.

The photo was of a young and beautiful woman, wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans, her hair tied in a high ponytail, brows curved, smiling sweetly and happily! The whole person exuded youthful vitality.

Staring at the woman in the photo, Huo Junmo’s eyes showed infatuation and longing! His fingers holding the photo unconsciously applied more pressure, the other hand slowly, gently stroked the woman’s face in the photo.

Huo Junmo quietly stared at the woman in the photo for a long time, reluctantly putting the photo back into the drawer of the bedside cabinet.

After looking at the photo, Huo Junmo was wide awake, unable to sleep, so he stood up to the study to handle business.

......

The next day, Ling Yueyue woke to the loud sound of a ringing phone!

Ling Yueyue, still half-asleep, picked up the phone from the bedside cabinet, answered it, and brought it to her ear with a nasal tone, ”Hello.”

A hoarse voice came from the other end, ”Yueyue, it’s Dad!”

Upon hearing this voice, all of Ling Yueyue’s sleepiness instantly disappeared, her mind gradually cleared, asking in a not-so-happy tone, ”Why call me so early?”

There was a brief silence on the other end before speaking, ”Yueyue! How have you been lately? When do you have time to come home? Dad misses you!”

Ling Yueyue curled her lips into a sneer, ”Why call me, just say it! No need to beat around the bush!”
