Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 994: Chapter 1036: Lack of Maternal Love

From today on, he must not let Dad and the wicked stepmother be together.

Dad is his; he absolutely can’t let the wicked stepmother steal Dad away!

Huo Junmo frowned deeply, his face stern as he warned, ”Huo Jiantian, don’t make me angry! Go back to your room and sleep now!”

Seeing that Huo Junmo seemed unhappy, Huo Jiantian simply shut his eyes and pounded the bed with his limbs, ”I don’t want to, I don’t want to, I want to sleep with Dad, I want to sleep here!”

With Huo Jiantian making a fuss, Ling Yueyue’s attention was successfully distracted. She suddenly sat up from the bed and pinched Huo Jiantian’s ear, angrily saying, ”Hey, Huo Jiantian, what do you mean by this? Are you doing this on purpose? You’ve been sleeping alone for the past five years! You weren’t scared before, but now that your dad and I are married, you’re scared? Do you think I’m a fool, or your dad is a fool! I’m warning you, get out quickly, or I won’t be nice to you!”

”Waa...ow...ow...it hurts...it hurts so much...! Dad, the wicked stepmother is bullying me, it hurts so much! You should stand up for me!” Huo Jiantian looked pitifully at Huo Junmo, squeezing out a few tears to win Huo Junmo’s sympathy.

”I’m telling you, I’m in charge in this house, even your dad can’t save you! Get out quickly!” Saying this, she released Huo Jiantian’s ear, grabbed his arm, and lifted him off the bed.

When his body was pulled up by Ling Yueyue, Huo Jiantian quickly grabbed Huo Junmo’s arm, ”No, I don’t want to...Dad...help...I want to sleep with Dad, waa...I want to sleep with Dad...!”

”Get out quickly!” Ling Yueyue persisted, forcibly pulling Huo Jiantian outside.

Seeing that Huo Junmo hadn’t spoken or helped from the beginning, Huo Jiantian got anxious! A light bulb went off in his head, and he began to wail with his mouth closed, ”Waa...you’re all bullying me, bullying me because I’m a child without a mom, waa...Mom, why did you die so early, why did you leave me all alone in this world...Dad has ignored me ever since he remarried a stepmother! Waa...you come take me away, I don’t want to live...I want Mom...you’re all bullying me because I’m a child without a mom! Waa...!” The more he cried, the sadder he became, with tears streaming down his face.

His demeanor, his expression, his crying skills, it was as if he really were a poor child abandoned by the world, forsaken by family.

”...!” Ling Yueyue’s mouth twitched. She knew he was acting to solicit sympathy, yet her heart still softened involuntarily!

For some reason, Huo Jiantian’s words made her feel inexplicably sad!

She couldn’t understand, if you don’t like me, why did you bring me into the world? If you brought me into the world, why do you treat me like this? If I had known this was going to happen, I would have preferred that my parents never gave birth to me, or if they did, to strangle me at birth!

From childhood to adulthood, neither father nor mother cared for her, and the only aunt treated her coldly!

She had truly had enough of these loveless days!

Despite growing up with Huo Junmo’s care, Huo Jiantian was ultimately still a child without a mom! No one can replace a mother in a child’s heart!

Actually, Huo Jiantian is also a poor child!

Thinking of this, Ling Yueyue released her grip on Huo Jiantian, suddenly embraced him, held his back with one hand and stroked his face with the other, speaking in a low voice, ”Don’t worry, even though I’m not your biological mom, I’ll definitely treat you well! I’ll make sure you feel a mother’s love, I definitely won’t bully you! Trust me!”

Stunned by Ling Yueyue’s sudden gesture, Huo Jiantian couldn’t recover for a long time!

This...what’s going on? Did the wicked stepmother take the wrong medicine? Suddenly being so nice to him? And saying such heartfelt things!

What’s happening today, everything’s been peculiar since he came back?

Ling Yueyue’s words made Huo Junmo’s eyes flicker, his thin lips pressed tighter, and his long fingers on the bed twitched unexpectedly.

Having comforted Huo Jiantian, Ling Yueyue looked at Huo Junmo, sympathizing, ”Tiantian is indeed pitiful, he’s been without a mom since a young age! If he’s scared, let him sleep here tonight! He’s only five, and it’s when he needs parental love the most!”

Huo Junmo gazed at Ling Yueyue tenderly for a moment, smiled slightly, his thin lips curving upwards, and said, ”It’s all up to you!”

Upon hearing this, Ling Yueyue smiled happily, released Huo Jiantian from her arms, wiped away his tears with a new-found gentle voice, ”Tiantian, tonight you can sleep here! Don’t worry, I’ll protect you!”

Originally confident in his plan to disrupt Ling Yueyue and Huo Junmo’s relationship, Huo Jiantian felt embarrassed instead after Ling Yueyue’s words!

Huo Junmo glanced at them, took Huo Jiantian from Ling Yueyue’s arms and situated him in the middle of the bed, ”It’s late, let’s sleep! We have school tomorrow!”

”Good night, Dad, and good night, wicked stepmom!” Huo Jiantian beamed and quickly closed his eyes in happiness.

Though he felt a tad guilty, excitement dominated his feelings! Over the past five years, from birth until now, he had always slept alone! Very early, he slept in the nursery, and later had his own small room!

Unless he was sick, Dad never stayed with him overnight!

This was the only time he could sleep with Dad without being sick! So he was truly happy, truly excited!

”Sleep now! Good night!” Ling Yueyue smiled at Huo Jiantian happily, then lay down beside him. As for Huo Junmo, he turned off the lights in the room and lay down on the other side of Huo Jiantian.

Once Huo Junmo lay on the bed, Huo Jiantian immediately turned over, hugging Huo Junmo like an octopus, nestled in his arms, and quickly fell asleep!

With Huo Jiantian’s commotion, Ling Yueyue also temporarily forgot the trouble brought by Ling’s father’s sudden arrival, quickly falling asleep once the lights were off!

Listening to the steady breathing next to him, Huo Junmo slowly opened his eyes.

In the pitch-black room, his eyes were extraordinarily bright.

.........

The next day, after breakfast together, just like yesterday, Huo Junmo drove Huo Jiantian to kindergarten first, and then drove Ling Yueyue to school.

Throughout the journey, Ling Yueyue didn’t mention yesterday’s events at all, as if nothing had happened!

Since she didn’t bring it up, Huo Junmo didn’t ask anything, simply reminded her with a couple of words once they reached the school entrance, then left.

As soon as Huo Junmo was out of sight, Ling Yueyue promptly waved down a taxi at the roadside by the school entrance, heading toward the long-distance bus station!
