Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 900: Chapter 943: Played for a Fool

Although Ye Anxin said so, Ye’s mother still couldn’t forgive herself, thinking about how her daughter suffered so much torment and pain because of Ruan Zhitong, while she herself couldn’t distinguish the truth, comforting and caring carefully during that week in the hospital, she felt so guilty that she wished she could die.

Ye Anxin rubbed her forehead and said helplessly, ”Mom, didn’t you promise me you wouldn’t blame yourself?”

She knew her mother’s character, so she wouldn’t reveal the truth earlier! Yet her mother insisted on finding out! When she couldn’t fool her with lies, she had to tell her the truth! As expected, she cried her heart out! Had she known it would turn out this way, she wouldn’t have said a word!

”How can I not blame myself! If I hadn’t let you go for that meal, if I had realized the first time that fake Ye Anxin appeared before me, many things wouldn’t have happened! You wouldn’t have suffered so much! It’s my fault for being useless and stupid! It’s my fault for harming you!” Saying this, Ye’s mother slapped herself.

The force of Ye’s mother’s slap was not trivial; her right cheek turned red instantly! Just as she was about to deliver the second slap, Ye Anxin quickly reached out to stop her.

Looking at the fiery handprint on her mother’s face, Ye Anxin angrily said, ”I told you not to hear, yet you insisted! If you continue blaming yourself and crying, I won’t tell you anything in the future, I’ll keep everything from you!”

When persuasion was ineffective, Ye Anxin had to resort to her last resort!

As expected, when she uttered these words, Ye’s mother immediately stopped crying, looked at her pitifully, and sobbed, ”No, you can’t hide anything from me, you must tell me!”

Ye Anxin raised her eyebrows and firmly said, ”If you want me to tell you, then stop crying! Otherwise, no way!”

”...!” Ye’s mother froze for a moment, then wiped the tears from her face and indeed stopped crying.

Seeing that Ye’s mother finally wasn’t crying or blaming herself, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief internally, ”Mom, don’t ever tell Yueyue about this. I don’t want her to be angry and guilty like you!”

Ye’s mother thought for a moment, nodded, ”Okay! Mom promises you not to tell her!”

Ye Anxin happily hooked her mother’s shoulder and smiled, ”Well! Since you’re here today, stay for a meal! I’ll have the housekeeper tell the kitchen to prepare a few dishes you like! Let’s not think about the past anymore, and forget completely about Ye Shan, let’s pretend he never existed in our lives, okay?”

Ye’s mother sniffled and nodded, ”Rest assured, I’ll definitely forget about him completely. From now on, our mother-daughter duo will not mention him again!”

”Okay!” Ye Anxin nodded happily, and after comforting Ye’s mother, she found the housekeeper to instruct the kitchen to prepare a few dishes Ye’s mother liked, then took little Chu Yi from the babysitter and returned to Ye’s mother hoping little Chu Yi could genuinely cheer her up.

.........

Three days later, Ye Anxin arrived on time at the rooftop of the Blue Sky Building as scheduled!

Unfortunately, when she arrived, there was no sign of Ruan Zhitong! After searching around the rooftop, Ye Anxin reluctantly took out her phone and dialed her old number!

The call was connected but no one answered!

Ye Anxin frustratedly dialed again! This time the call was answered quickly, as soon as it connected.

Without waiting for Ruan Zhitong to speak, Ye Anxin impatiently asked, ”Ruan Zhitong, I have arrived at the agreed location, where are you? Why haven’t you come yet?”

On the phone, Ruan Zhitong said unhurriedly, ”Listen to my instructions, now take the stairs to the second floor bridge, cross the bridge, reach the South Building of Blue Sky Building, then go up the stairs to the rooftop!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but widen her eyes, incredulous, ”Stairs? Are you nuts? The South Building of Blue Sky Building has twenty-two floors, you want me to climb from the second to the twenty-second floor! Are you deliberately messing with me?”

”Yes, I’m deliberately messing with you! If you don’t want to save Mu Shaobai, feel free not to come!” With that, she unhesitatingly hung up the phone!

Listening to the busy signal on the other end, Ye Anxin felt a surge in her chest rising to her head!

Ye Anxin closed her eyes and repeatedly took deep breaths until she pressed down all the anger in her chest, then she put her phone into her pants pocket, followed Ruan Zhitong’s words, from the rooftop down the stairs to the second floor! Crossing the crowded bridge, Ye Anxin again reached the South Building of Blue Sky Building, and then climbed the stairs to the rooftop.

Having never climbed like this before and nearly everywhere she went had elevators, Ye Anxin was soon exhausted and out of breath!

With thoughts of rescuing, Ye Anxin almost climbed one floor, rested for a few minutes, then climbed another floor and rested for another few minutes!

When she climbed up to the twenty-second floor rooftop, she felt her legs no longer belonged to her, they were completely numb! Her body was as if it had been drenched by rain, wet from head to toe!

Yet, panting on the rooftop of the South Building of Blue Sky Building, after searching around, she still didn’t see Ruan Zhitong.

Only then did Ye Anxin realize she had been fooled again, and angrily took out her phone and dialed again.

This time, unlike last time, the phone was quickly connected, Ye Anxin said angrily, ”Ruan Zhitong, what do you mean? Where are you?”

On the phone, the dumpling head said calmly, ”Move back a bit, and you’ll see me!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but frown, looking back, she saw no Ruan Zhitong, angrily she said again, ”You’re completely messing with me! Where are you? Come out now!”

Ruan Zhitong said indifferently, ”Take two steps back, and I’ll come out!”

Ye Anxin couldn’t understand what trick she was playing, but had to follow her words and take two steps back!

As soon as she steadied her heels, a basin of liquid poured down directly from above her! Immediately, Ye Anxin smelled a strong gasoline smell!

Ye Anxin was startled internally, without thinking, she ran directly towards the rooftop barrier!

Sure enough, just as she moved away, a lit lighter was thrown down from above! Because she dodged quickly, the lighter fell to the ground! Landing precisely on a spot without gasoline, extinguishing!

Looking at the lighter that fell to the ground, Ye Anxin, already drenched, felt a layer of cold sweat appear on her body.

Slowly, she saw Ruan Zhitong climbing down from the skylight ladder, picking up the lighter she had thrown, her red lips curled with wicked charm, looking at Ye Anxin with a smile that seemed not.
