Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 868: Chapter 911: Bring Her to See Me

Even if they manage to control Mu Rufeng and prevent him from sending messages, there’s no guarantee that Ruan Zhitong hasn’t planted someone to monitor Mu Rufeng and Madam! So, just to be safe, caution is key.

”Don’t worry, CEO. I’ll definitely carry out your instructions and bring Madam to you without anyone noticing!” Pete stood up, and at Mu Beiting’s signal, left together with Ahao.

Pete and Ahao got on the elevator together, and Pete carefully instructed, ”Continue to investigate whether there’s anyone monitoring Mu Rufeng! Remember, under no circumstances should anyone know your whereabouts, and even more so, the CEO’s whereabouts!”

”I understand!” Ahao nodded.

As the elevator descended, Pete continued to give him some instructions! He only stopped talking when others entered the elevator!

After exiting the elevator, Ahao relayed Pete’s instructions to his subordinates, asking them to carry out the tasks as soon as possible. He and Pete then sat in the business cabin and went across the street from New City District.

To confirm if Ye Anxin and Mu Rufeng were still in the district, Ahao got out of the car and consulted the security guard he spoke to yesterday, only feeling relieved once he confirmed they hadn’t left.

Ahao and Pete waited in the car for a long time, until it was nearly lunchtime when they finally saw Ye Anxin and Mu Rufeng walking out hand in hand, and they discreetly instructed their driver to follow them.

Mu Rufeng first took Ye Anxin to a nearby small restaurant for lunch! After lunch, Mu Rufeng brought Ye Anxin for a walk.

Walking down the street, after suppressing herself for days, Ye Anxin finally couldn’t help but ask, ”Rufeng, don’t you need to work? I don’t want you to delay work just to be with me!”

Ever since she woke up, Mu Rufeng had been by her side, and she hadn’t seen him go out on his own at all! Which meant he hadn’t been to work all this time!

A grown man, how can he not work? She even more so didn’t want him not to work just to take care of her!

Mu Rufeng calmly explained, ”I resigned during your coma! Now that your body hasn’t fully recovered, I don’t feel comfortable leaving you alone at home!”

In fact, since arriving in this city, he hadn’t been working properly! Previously in the Mu Group, he was at least the general manager of a department! His starting point was inherently higher than others! So, he looked down on lesser jobs. But unfortunately, he didn’t have much ability, and previously in the Mu Group, he held only a titular position, so people disdained offering him good jobs!

Thus, all along, he’s been unable to find something suitable!

Their daily expenses mostly came from Grandpa! Every month, Grandpa would transfer money into their account! Naturally, the old man was generous! So even if he didn’t work, it was usually enough to cover their expenses.

Moreover, due to Ye Anxin’s matter, Ruan Zhitong also gave him a large sum of money for future hypnosis sessions for Ye Anxin! Therefore, he’s financially very comfortable at the moment!

Of course, he didn’t dare to tell Ye Anxin about these things for fear that she would dislike him for being lazy and not working! So, he could only temporarily find an excuse to gloss over it.

After listening to Mu Rufeng’s explanation, Ye Anxin lowered her head, feeling embarrassed, and said, ”I’m sorry, it’s my fault! But my body has almost fully recovered now, though my memory hasn’t fully returned, I’ve remembered most of it! So you don’t need to specifically stay at home to take care of me! A man should prioritize his career, so feel free to go out and find a job! I can take care of myself! Moreover, isn’t Mom at home too? The two of us will manage just fine!”

Mu Rufeng decisively refused, ”No way. Seeing you like this, how could I feel at ease! The last two times you got hurt was because I was too busy with work and couldn’t be there to accompany you! Now your body hasn’t fully recovered yet, how could I leave you at home alone and go to work again! No matter what, I have to wait until you’re fully recovered to return to work! Otherwise, even if I did go to work, my thoughts would always be on you, and I wouldn’t be able to focus at all!”

Ye Anxin was still a bit hesitant and said, ”But, but I can’t let you stay at home because of me! A grown man staying at home all day, people will talk!”

Mu Rufeng gently patted her cheek, softly coaxing, ”It’s alright, I’m not staying home all day! Once you’re better and I have no more worries, I’ll naturally go back to work! Don’t worry! I’ve got a sense of propriety! Besides, we still have savings, and we’ve saved quite a bit in the past, so we aren’t lacking money for now, don’t worry!”

”Mm!” Seeing Mu Rufeng’s firm attitude, Ye Anxin, though still somewhat uncomfortable, didn’t say anything further!

For some reason, she just felt it wasn’t quite right for a grown man not to go out and work, staying at home with his wife all day! If it weren’t for her current special situation, she definitely would also want to go out and work to lessen the burden at home.

Noticing her displeasure, to distract her, Mu Rufeng smiled and said, ”Come on! See if there’s anything else you need, I’ll buy it for you!”

”No need! We can’t just sit and eat away our savings! We both don’t have jobs right now, if we keep spending lavishly, the money won’t last!” Ye Anxin shook her head, starting to consider whether to go out and find a job.

Maybe going out to work and broadening horizons might even help in regaining memory.

Completely unaware of Ye Anxin’s thoughts, Mu Rufeng pulled her towards a bustling mall entrance, saying as they walked, ”It’s alright, we’re not buying anything overly expensive! I can still afford small trinkets!”

”...!” Ye Anxin didn’t say anything, allowing Mu Rufeng to lead her toward the mall entrance.

However, they hadn’t even reached the entrance before a man suddenly rushed over, snatched Ye Anxin’s backpack, and ran off.

Ye Anxin exclaimed, reacting a moment too late, pointing in the direction the man ran and shouting, ”Rufeng, my bag!”

Mu Rufeng nonchalantly said, ”There wasn’t anything valuable inside, let them take it!”

The bag wasn’t expensive to begin with, so instead of chasing after it, it would be more convenient to just buy a new one!

Unwilling to give up, Ye Anxin said, ”That bag was the first gift you gave me after I woke up, and it still has my phone and the money you gave me inside! Hurry and get it back, we can’t just let them have it!”

Although there’s not much money inside, for people like them who currently don’t have jobs, it’s already a lot! The money they have now must be used carefully! The frugality instinct ingrained in Ye Anxin was now fermenting frantically.
