Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 635: Chapter 678: Who Matters Most

”Oh come on, I’m just joking with you! The longer you stay with Mu Beiting, the less sense of humor you have! Honestly, after all these years, you can’t even tell when I’m joking, that’s really breaking my heart! No way, my heart hurts, it’s a sharp pain... I’m sure it’s bleeding!” She said, pretending to clutch her chest in sadness.

Seeing her exaggerated act, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but laugh out loud, ”Okay, okay, stop being so dramatic! Bleeding! Mr. Huo doesn’t even have the ability to make your heart bleed, I don’t think I have that power!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Ling Yueyue gave her a loud flick on the head, ”You cheeky girl, you’ve learned to mock me! I think if I don’t discipline you, you’ll be out of control in no time!”

Ye Anxin clutched her aching head, complaining, ”It hurts! Ling Yueyue, you lunatic, can’t you be a bit more gentle? You nearly cracked my head with that hit!”

”Come here, let big sis rub it, a gentle rub will make it better!” She said, reaching out to gently rub Ye Anxin’s head.

After rubbing twice, Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but ask, ”But seriously, Ye Anxin, what kind of person is Mu Beiting’s real mom? Honestly, I’ve always been curious about her! What kind of woman can give birth to someone as complex as Mu Beiting?”

Ye Anxin sighed and shook her head, ”Oh...! It’s a long story! You haven’t met her. If you did, you’d give a thumbs up too!”

Ling Yueyue asked in disbelief, ”That impressive?”

Ye Anxin nodded, ”Yes!”

Ling Yueyue asked curiously, ”Then why does Xiao Bai hate her so much? Is it because she’s too strict? Or just has the wrong approach that kids don’t like?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin realized that Ling Yueyue misunderstood her, and couldn’t help but roll her eyes, ”Ling Yueyue, where’s that telepathy we talked about? Can’t you even tell when I’m being sarcastic? I meant she’s impressive in a bad way, not a good way!”

Ling Yueyue impatiently responded, ”What do you mean? Ye Anxin, when did you start speaking in riddles? Just say it, don’t beat around the bush!”

Ye Anxin sympathized, ”Think about it, would someone from a normal family grow up to be like Mu Beiting? Before he was ten, he lived with his mom but led an inhumane life! Meals were never secure, and whenever my mother-in-law was upset, she would either hit or scold him! It’s fair to say, before he was ten, he lived under the shadow of violence! The first time I met her, my mother-in-law smashed an ashtray on my forehead! Just imagine what kind of woman she is!”

”Oh my God, really? Let me see, where did she hit you? Did it leave a scar?” Saying this, she cradled Ye Anxin’s head to examine the wound.

Ye Anxin pointed to the place where the faint scar remained, ”Right here! There was a lot of blood at that time, it was all over my clothes, and it scared both Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai!”

Ling Yueyue took a closer look, and indeed Ye Anxin had a large scar on her forehead, although it had healed, one could still see it clearly if looking closely.

Ling Yueyue angrily said, ”Wow, she’s practically a shrew! Why did she smash you? On what grounds? If I were there, I would have taught her a lesson and shown her my strength! Absolutely infuriating!”

Ye Anxin said sourly, ”If she treated me that way at our first meeting, imagine how Mu Beiting came through those ten years living with her?”

After hearing Ye Anxin’s words, Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but show sympathy, ”Oh! Mu Beiting is so pitiful! I used to dislike how he treated you! Now after hearing his story, I feel he’s actually quite justified! The impression of life before ten years old can be so profound, perhaps the psychological shadows cast during that time could never be erased! Having such a mom is indeed Mu Beiting’s misfortune!”

Mu Beiting’s experience inevitably reminded Ling Yueyue of her own past!

She felt deeply that before the age of eight, children should be happy and full of innocence! If shadows are cast on a child’s young mind during that time, they really could linger for a lifetime, just like hers! Even now, as she lives a wealthy life, she can’t forget how she lived before she turned ten! Father didn’t care, mother didn’t love, aunt gave looks every day!

For her, those days were not life fit for a human, much less for someone like Mu Beiting who lived under the shadow of a violent family!

Ye Anxin nodded, ”Yes! So in the future, no more talking like that about Mu Beiting! He’s got his own struggles too!”

Ling Yueyue said indignantly, ”But, seriously, since his mom was so excessive, why did you guys let her come back? This type of woman should be kept far away, should never be allowed to approach your family again!”

Ye Anxin said, ”I believe she came back with hidden motives! We haven’t seen her for twenty-five years, suddenly she comes back, flattering and enduring everything, she definitely has an agenda! I think rather than leaving her outside, not knowing what she’s up to, better to keep her close and observe her every move!”

Ling Yueyue nodded, impressed, ”You’re right! An enemy in the open is better than in secret! If she’s in secret, you never know what she’s planning, if she’s in the open at least you can be prepared! Ye Anxin, well done, finally you showed some brain, without blindly being soft-hearted, accepting that kind of mother!”

Ye Anxin couldn’t help but jab Ling Yueyue’s forehead, ”Some things warrant compassion, some things don’t! I understand the difference! Besides, I was just kind in the past, thinking to spare others whenever possible. But I’m not stupid! Moreover, for the way she treated Mu Beiting, there’s no way I could forgive her! She’s gone way too far!”

Ling Yueyue pursed her lips and teased, ”Yes, yes! I know you’re most worried about your dear Mu Beiting! Even if someone else hurts you countless times, you forgive them, but if they hurt your dear Mu Beiting once, you can’t forgive! It’s true love, true love is truly great!”

Ye Anxin raised an eyebrow and unabashedly agreed, ”Of course, Mu Beiting is more important than my life!”

”Hmph!” Ling Yueyue huffed jealously, ”I’m jealous! My place in your heart has dropped again! I used to be the most important after Ms. Ye, now I’ve somehow been pushed to fourth place after Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai!”

”Not fourth, fifth!” Saying this, she touched her rounded belly.

Ling Yueyue followed her hand and looked, her heart bubbling with jealousy, ”Ye Anxin, our friendship is over, goodbye!” Saying this, she released Ye Anxin’s arm and angrily walked ahead.
