Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 614: Chapter 657: Holding a Grudge

The nurse looked at the phone number on the paper, puzzled, and asked, ”Whose mobile number is this?”

Qin Muyao said, ”This is the phone number of Ms. Mo’s daughter-in-law! Her son doesn’t answer the phone; try calling her daughter-in-law!”

”Oh!” The nurse nodded and dialed the number on the paper!

Ye Anxin, who was nestled on the sofa reading a book, heard the phone ring. She picked it up and looked at the caller ID, seeing it was a strange landline number. She intended to hang up, then remembered that Mu Huajian always called her from unknown numbers, so after some hesitation, she answered.

Just as Ye Anxin answered the call, Mu Beiting’s voice rang out simultaneously, ”Hang up!”

Unfortunately, he was a step too late. As he spoke, Ye Anxin had already picked up the phone!

Ye Anxin blinked her bright eyes, puzzled, and glanced at Mu Beiting, holding the phone to her ear and softly said, ”Hello?”

On the other end, a nurse’s sweet and polite voice sounded, ”Hello, are you Ms. Mo Xuehong’s daughter-in-law?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin was momentarily stunned, not reacting to this form of address!

Seeing her not respond, the nurse patiently asked again, ”Hello, are you Ms. Mo’s daughter-in-law?”

Ye Anxin snapped back to reality and quickly said, ”Yes, I am! Who is this? What’s the matter?”

”I’m a nurse in the hospital emergency room. Ms. Mo Xuehong just fainted in the snow and was sent to the hospital. She’s alone in the hospital now, with no one to care for her! We hope you can come over if you have the time! Also, someone needs to take care of the medical expenses here, otherwise, we will have to ask Ms. Mo to leave!” The nurse had to exaggerate the situation to force Ye Anxin to come over.

After hearing the nurse, Ye Anxin hesitated for a while, unsure how to respond!

Seeing Ye Anxin hesitate, and recalling Mu Beiting’s earlier incident, the nurse suddenly got angry, ”Ms. Mo Xuehong is your husband’s biological mother. As a son, regardless of the reason, he should come to the hospital to take care of her. How can you be so heartless and watch your own mother go to the hospital and do nothing! Earlier, I called Ms. Mo Xuehong’s son twice in a row, and he just turned off the phone! As children, how can you be so unfilial! She carried you for ten months and raised you with great difficulty, and you treat her like this? Aren’t you afraid of divine retribution? If one day you grow old, and your children treat you the same way, what will you do?”

Originally, Ye Anxin was still hesitating about going over, but after being scolded by the nurse, she immediately got angry, ”Excuse me, how much do you know about our family? What gives you the right to talk about us like this? Everything has a cause and effect; if it weren’t for what she did before, how could there be today’s result? Please understand the situation before you accuse others, and don’t insult us rashly!” With that, she hung up the phone without further ado!

She has always been good-tempered, regardless of what others say about her. She doesn’t care and can tolerate it! But she can’t stand others speaking ill of Uncle, not even a single word!

Moreover, it has been Mo Xuehong’s fault from the beginning. Why should Uncle bear the mistake she made?

Not only accusing Uncle of being unfilial but also cursing him with divine retribution! It’s a wonder she’s not angry!

After hanging up, Ye Anxin sat angrily on the sofa, staring at the blacked-out phone screen and panting heavily.

At the same time Ye Anxin hung up, Mu Beiting walked over silently, sat down beside her, wrapped an arm around her waist, and said softly, ”Don’t be angry! It’s not worth it for some insignificant people!”

Ye Anxin pouted, angrily said, ”Uncle, I’m just mad that they’re slandering you! Clearly, it’s not your fault, yet they push all the blame onto you!”

Mu Beiting smiled slightly, his thick and rough hand touched Ye Anxin’s fair and tender little face, and he coaxed softly, ”Good girl, don’t be angry, okay! Being angry is not good for the child in your belly!”

Ye Anxin took a deep breath, smiled, and comforted, ”Mm! I’m not angry! Uncle, you go and do your work! I’m fine, I’ll continue reading! I won’t let unnecessary people affect my mood!”

”Good girl!” Mu Beiting affectionately tapped her small and lovely nose, then stood up and returned to the desk to continue working.

As soon as Mu Beiting sat down in the office chair, Ye Anxin’s phone rang again in her hand!

Ye Anxin picked it up and glanced at the caller ID, then decisively hung up, and to prevent them from bothering her again, she directly turned off the phone!

The moment the phone rang, Mu Beiting’s gaze paused on Ye Anxin. Seeing her turn off the phone, he lowered his head and started working!

Ye Anxin nestled on the sofa, took the book she was reading earlier, and continued reading!

Nonetheless, she couldn’t concentrate; she remembered the nurse’s words, and her heart was still angry, with nowhere to vent!

On the other side, after Ye Anxin hung up, the nurse dialed again, but the receiver prompted the phone was off!

Qin Muyao stood beside, asked expectantly, ”How was it?”

The nurse shrugged, helplessly said, ”Turned off!”

Upon hearing this, Qin Muyao’s face visibly darkened, a flash of inexplicable light passing through her eyes.

The nurse sighed, worriedly said, ”What should we do now? It seems that Ms. Mo Xuehong’s son and daughter-in-law are determined not to visit Ms. Mo! How do we tell Ms. Mo? If she finds out, she would be very sad and disappointed!”

”It’s okay! Nurse sister, you go ahead and get busy, I’ll tell Ms. Mo, I’ll just say the call didn’t go through, I’ll comfort her, don’t worry!” With that, she waved her hand at the nurse and returned to the ward.

Seeing her return, Mo Xuehong quickly asked, ”What were you doing just now? Why did you say you’re not my daughter?”

Qin Muyao acted innocent, saying, ”Mom, I was just trying to help you! If I said I’m your daughter, how could the nurse be willing to call brother and have him come to the hospital!”

”Did you get through? What did Mu Beiting say?” Mo Xuehong quickly asked!

She wouldn’t forget the nurse calling Mu Beiting in front of her and Mu Beiting hanging up without hesitation!

Qin Muyao shook her head, disappointed, ”No! Brother turned off his phone later! I had no choice but to ask the nurse to call Ye Anxin! The call got through, but Ye Anxin hung up, and she turned off her phone too!”

Mo Xuehong sighed, helplessly said, ”Forget it! I treated Mu Beiting like that before, and he probably will never forgive me in this lifetime! Even like this, he wouldn’t come to see me, proving he doesn’t care whether I live or die!”
