Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: You’re a Walking Contradiction

”Uncle!” Ye Anxin wanted to speak, but was stopped by Yan Qinghan, ”Little sister-in-law, I think it’s best if you leave for now! Your uncle is feeling upset and needs time to slowly process and accept this matter! Once some time has passed and the wound heals, he’ll be fine! The more you act like this, the more uncomfortable it makes your uncle feel, and the more guilty he becomes towards you!”

Ye Anxin quickly asked with concern, ”What’s wrong with Uncle? What wound? Why is this happening? How has he wronged me?”

Yan Qinghan glanced at Mu Beiting and pretended to be mysterious, ”Your uncle, he...!” But before he could finish his sentence, Mu Beiting sternly said, ”Judy, see the guest out!”

”I won’t say anything, I won’t say anything, I’ll keep my mouth shut!” Yan Qinghan quickly covered his mouth with his hand and said nothing more.

”Uncle!” Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting.

”Leave!” Mu Beiting lowered his head, refusing to look at her.

Ye Anxin bit her lower lip tightly, completely unaware of what had happened. After hesitating for a moment, she turned and left.

Uncle is angry now, it seems Yan Qinghan was right, Uncle really doesn’t want to face her!

Instead of making Uncle feel uncomfortable here, it’s better to follow Yan Qinghan’s advice and leave first.

But what exactly happened yesterday? Why would seeing her make Uncle feel uncomfortable? Why does he feel guilty towards her?

Ye Anxin left in a daze.

Hearing the sound of the office door closing, Mu Beiting paused his hand holding the pen.

Seeing his expression clearly, Yan Qinghan grinned mischievously and said provocatively, ”Ah, you’re such a contradiction! You just drove Little Sister-in-law away, and now you can’t bear it! If you ask me, I think Little Sister-in-law is really pitiful, she doesn’t even know why you’re angry! She still thinks she’s the one who upset you! How pitiful!”

Mu Beiting still kept his head down without answering.

Yan Qinghan moved closer to Mu Beiting, ”How about this? I help you two?”

Mu Beiting ignored him and continued to deal with business matters.

Watching Mu Beiting pretend to be busy despite clearly being distracted, Yan Qinghan smiled craftily, a gleam of cunning flashed in his eyes.

After leaving the Mu Group, Ye Anxin went straight to school.

Today is Friday, with self-study classes in the morning and two elective courses in the afternoon!

When Ye Anxin arrived at school, she realized that her best friend Ling Yueyue didn’t show up for class. But for elective courses like these, it wasn’t unusual for her to skip, so Ye Anxin didn’t take it to heart.

Ye Anxin distractedly finished the classes.

After school, Su Yichen walked out of the classroom alongside Ye Anxin, gently reminding her, ”Ye, remember to pack your luggage well tonight. The picnic spot this time is quite far, and there’s a large temperature difference between morning and evening, so remember to bring a couple of extra pieces of clothing!”

Ye Anxin thought it over carefully and still said, ”Professor Su, I’m not going to the picnic tomorrow!”

Uncle is angry, and she has no mood to go out and play. Even if she forces herself to go, she’ll be as distracted as she was in class today! Instead of going out, she might as well stay at home and accompany Uncle more, coax him not to be angry.

Su Yichen asked in surprise, ”Why?”

”Last night at Teacher Li’s birthday party I drank too much, so my head feels dizzy, maybe I caught a cold! So I’m not going, you all have fun!” Ye Anxin thought for a moment and came up with a casual excuse.

”Well... in that case, Ye, have a good rest at home!” Su Yichen nodded, his eyes showing a hint of disappointment.

”Then I’ll go home first!” Ye Anxin forced a smile, parted with Su Yichen in the hallway, and after leaving school, she went to the market to buy groceries and went straight home.

After returning home, Ye Anxin went to the kitchen to cut, wash, and blanch all the vegetables, so once Mu Beiting returned, she could directly stir-fry them.

Even until seven-thirty in the evening, there was still no sign of Mu Beiting.

The butler couldn’t bear it and tentatively said, ”Madam, why don’t you have dinner first? It’s possible that Sir is out socializing tonight and won’t be home for dinner!”

Ye Anxin glanced out the door, noticed it was already dark outside, and apologized, ”I’m sorry to make you all wait with me, you should eat first! I’m not hungry!”

The butler shook his head, ”We’re not hungry, we’ll wait to eat with Madam!”

Ye Anxin firmly said, ”Even if you’re not hungry, others might be hungry. You all eat first! If I keep you waiting and hungry, I’ll feel guilty!”

”Uh...!” The butler looked troubled.

Ye Anxin smiled and waved, ”Go on! You don’t want me to feel guilty, do you? You eat first, if I get hungry, I’ll eat.”

”Alright then! We’ll eat first!” Hearing this, the butler reluctantly nodded and went downstairs to eat with the maids.

The maids eat in two shifts, the first batch eats until full, then swaps with the second batch! In any case, someone must be available at all times to serve in the villa.

Although Mu Beiting is cold on the outside, he’s quite humane and generally lets them all rest by nine at night, with no night duty required.

Feeling bored while waiting, Ye Anxin went upstairs, grabbed a couple of books, and settled into the sofa to wait while reading.

By nine o’clock, Mu Beiting still hadn’t returned. Ye Anxin didn’t dare to call him, so she let the butler go to rest. The butler initially said he would wait with her but was smiled away by Ye Anxin! Helplessly, the butler went to rest with the other maids.

Ye Anxin curled up on the sofa, her legs tucked, the book resting on her knees and thighs. As she read, she unknowingly fell asleep leaning on the sofa.

It wasn’t until dawn the next day, when the household staff started their shifts, that they found her asleep on the sofa!

The butler, after searching upstairs, found no trace of Mu Beiting in the room or study, sighed helplessly, and stood beside the sofa, gently calling, ”Madam...!”

Hearing the voice, Ye Anxin abruptly woke up, thinking Mu Beiting had returned. But upon seeing the butler’s face, her eyes dimmed, and she asked disappointedly, ”Butler, where’s Uncle?”

Although he felt sorry, the butler still answered truthfully, ”Sir didn’t come home all night!”

”Uncle didn’t come home all night?” Ye Anxin repeated the butler’s words carefully, and as she did, her eyes unknowingly reddened.

Uncle didn’t come home all night, it seems he really is angry, he must not want to see her, so he deliberately stayed away, deliberately avoiding her.

If she had known, she wouldn’t have gone to the birthday party the day before yesterday!

The butler quickly comforted her, ”Madam, don’t be sad! Sir used to be occupied with business, and not returning sometimes was normal!”

Ye Anxin blinked and asked uncertainly, ”Really?”

The butler nodded truthfully, ”Yes! The maids at home all know this! That’s why Sir instructed us, after nine in the evening, no night duty is needed.”

Ye Anxin asked again, ”Is Uncle busy on weekends? Will he come home?”

The butler continued to reassure, ”It’s hard to say! Sir generally doesn’t have rest days, even if everyone in the company takes a break, Sir is alone at the office dealing with business! Mainly because the Mu Group’s industry is vast, reaching nationwide and even having branches abroad! If Sir wants to rest, a lot of matters wouldn’t be handled! Since I started serving Sir, I’ve known that Sir’s longest rest time is six hours, usually only three to four hours! He stays up working until two or three in the morning, and wakes up at five or six for morning runs before going back to the office to work! So, Madam doesn’t need to be sad, Sir must be too busy and doesn’t have time to come home!”
