Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Sulking

”Uncle...!” Ye Anxin was confused, gently placing her hand on Mu Beiting’s shoulder and giving a little push.

Mu Beiting growled impatiently, ”If you want to leave, just leave, don’t bother me!”

”Uncle, what’s wrong with you?” Ye Anxin felt bewildered by his shout and looked towards Pete, hoping to get answers from him.

Pete shrugged helplessly, also looking confused.

”Then, Uncle, I’ll take my leave first, I’ll come see you again tomorrow!” Ye Anxin felt extremely aggrieved but couldn’t understand why Mu Beiting was angry, so she chose to leave.

As Ye Anxin left and the door of the ward closed behind her, Mu Beiting’s body went rigid, his thin lips pressing into a line, and one could vaguely hear the sound of his teeth gritting.

Pete looked at Mu Beiting’s stiff back, and awkwardly scratched his head, unsure of what to do.

Seeing that Mu Beiting had no intention of getting up, he consciously tidied up the leftovers and sat quietly to continue reading the documents he brought from the office.

Ye Anxin sat absent-mindedly in the classroom. Usually a diligent student, this was the first time her mind was wandering far away, completely filled with thoughts of Mu Beiting, to the extent she didn’t hear the teacher calling her several times during the lecture.

Ling Yueyue, sitting beside her, noticed her daze and nudged her with her elbow, whispering, ”Anxin, what are you doing?”

”Ah... what?” Ye Anxin snapped back to reality, looking at her in confusion.

Ling Yueyue pouted, ”What do you mean what? Professor Su called you several times, what were you thinking about?”

”Calling me for what?” Ye Anxin blinked, looking at her blankly.

”Sigh...!” Ling Yueyue sighed, shaking her head speechlessly.

Just as Ye Anxin was feeling puzzled, Professor Su, who had been on the podium, walked over to her side, asking with concern, ”Ye, are you alright? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”

Ye Anxin hurriedly stood up, exclaiming in panic, ”Teacher, I’m fine!”

Professor Su asked again, still a bit worried, ”Are you really okay? Did the teacher just call me?”

Professor Su looked at her gently and said softly, ”It’s good if you’re fine! Please come to the office after school ends!”

”Mhm!” Ye Anxin nodded and sat back down after Professor Su walked away.

Ling Yueyue lay on the desk with both hands, deliberately sighing, and said with a meaningful tone, ”Sigh, different fates for different people! I’ve always wondered, out of so many students in our class, how come Professor Su doesn’t care about anyone else but you?”

Ye Anxin gave her a sideways glance, asking with amusement, ”What do you mean?”

Ling Yueyue straightened up, sneaked a glance at the teacher lecturing on the podium, leaned towards Ye Anxin, and whispered mysteriously in her ear, ”I think our Professor Su has a crush on you!”

Ye Anxin gently tapped her on the forehead, ”What nonsense are you talking about!”

Ling Yueyue rubbed her forehead where she had been tapped, stubbornly saying, ”I’m not talking nonsense! Haven’t you noticed? Every time he looks at you, those eyes... tsk tsk tsk... are so gentle they could drip water! He hasn’t used that look on any other student in the class!”

Ye Anxin dramatically rolled her eyes and said with annoyance, ”Alright, alright, are you here to attend class or gossip! Since ancient times, teachers have always liked students who excel academically! So, it’s no surprise that he likes me!”
