Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: If You Have Nothing to Do, Get Out

Seeing him come out, Yan Qinghan immediately teased, ”You were too quick, weren’t you? I thought with your stamina, you’d need at least an hour!”

Ye Anxin’s little face, which had just returned to normal temperature, flushed bright red again upon hearing Yan Qinghan’s words. She didn’t dare to look at Mu Beiting and had to lower her head, staring at her toes in sandals.

Mu Beiting took in all of Ye Anxin’s expressions, sat down next to her, glanced coldly at Yan Qinghan, and, too lazy to discuss such a boring topic, asked expressionlessly, ”How is the investigation going?”

Yan Qinghan replied proudly, ”Don’t worry about my work! I’ve already found out; it was Mo Qiaoyan who bribed them.”

Although Yan Qinghan didn’t directly mention last night’s events, upon hearing his words, she felt certain they were discussing the incident with the assassins from the night before.

Upon hearing Mo Qiaoyan’s name, Ye Anxin frowned slightly and looked at Mu Beiting in confusion.

Mu Beiting looked at Pete.

Pete quickly nodded, reassuring, ”Don’t worry, boss, I know what to do.”

Mu Beiting nodded in satisfaction, ”Let’s eat first!”

”Yes!” Pete stood up, took out the takeout he had bought, and arranged it on the nightstand.

”Boss!” Pete handed one of the meals to Mu Beiting.

Mu Beiting gave him a glance, ”Give it to madam, I’m not hungry!”

Pete suddenly understood and quickly handed the food to Ye Anxin.

Ye Anxin wasn’t the least bit polite, took the food, and began eating voraciously.

Yan Qinghan watched Mu Beiting with amusement, shaking his head and deliberately saying, ”Tsk tsk tsk, showing concern for others? The sun must be rising from the west!”

Mu Beiting swept a cold glance over, ”If you have nothing to do, get lost!”

”Fine, I’ll leave, can’t I? Talk about burning bridges!” Yan Qinghan stood up, deliberately brushed the dust off his pants, and before leaving, leaned in close to Ye Anxin’s ear, whispering so only the two of them could hear, ”Little Sister-in-law, I wasn’t joking earlier. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely figure out how to teach you properly! Men... don’t like baby birds...!”

”Cough cough... cough cough...!” Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin accidentally choked on a grain of rice, coughing violently in discomfort.

Almost at the same time Ye Anxin coughed, Mu Beiting’s eyes glared at Yan Qinghan with an icy stare.

If looks could kill, Yan Qinghan would have been shredded to pieces by Mu Beiting right then and there.

Because she was coughing so much, Ye Anxin’s whole face turned red, and even tears came out.

Seeing her in such distress, Mu Beiting stood up and poured her a glass of water.

”Thank you!” Ye Anxin took the water and, after taking a large sip, felt much better in her throat.

”Haha... don’t get so worked up... I’m leaving...!” Yan Qinghan laughed with delight twice, slipping out of the hospital room like the wind before Mu Beiting could completely lose his temper.

Mu Beiting stared at Ye Anxin, expressionless, and asked, ”What did he say to you?”

”Nothing, nothing... really nothing...!” Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin’s face flushed redder, and she lowered her head even more. If there were a hole in the ground right now, she would have dived in without hesitation, never to come out again.

Mu Beiting’s eyes darkened, and his thin lips pressed tightly together, a tinge of displeasure flashing in his eyes as he stared at Ye Anxin.

”Uncle, it’s getting late; I need to go back!” With that, Ye Anxin stood up, picked up her insulated lunch box, and prepared to leave.

”...!” Mu Beiting turned his head away, rolled over onto the bed, facing away from her, without acknowledging her!
