Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: You Care About Him?

Unconsciously, it was already late at night when Mu Beiting finished his social engagement and gave Pete a look. Pete stood up, went ahead to the underground parking lot to start the car.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Pete was about to start the car when he suddenly remembered the conversation with Ye Anxin at the elevator door earlier today. Hesitating for a moment, he took out his phone and the note with the phone number, and sent a text to Ye Anxin.

The sleeping Ye Anxin was awakened by the text message, and she groggily took out her phone from beside her head and glanced at it. Seeing what was written on it, she suddenly became as energetic as if she had been injected with adrenaline, waking up immediately.

Ye Anxin glanced at the time; it was already eleven-thirty at night! Mu Beiting must be hungry by now! She could go downstairs to make a late-night snack, which would be ready just in time for Mu Beiting when he comes home.

With this thought, Ye Anxin didn’t hesitate, left her room, and went downstairs straight to the kitchen.

At this hour, all the servants in the villa were already asleep; the large villa was eerily quiet! However, this didn’t affect her delighted mood at all! Entering the kitchen, Ye Anxin rolled up her sleeves and got straight to work.

When Mu Beiting returned, he had just opened the door when a tempting aroma wafted over, stimulating his appetite.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Ye Anxin walked out of the kitchen, holding a bowl specially for drinking soup in both hands. She smiled warmly at Mu Beiting and said, ”You’re back! You must be hungry, right? I cooked noodles for you! Come and eat!” With that, she placed the bowl filled with noodles on the dining table outside the kitchen.

Mu Beiyu looked at her, his brows tightly furrowed, with a flash of displeasure in his cold eyes.

”Uncle, don’t just stand there stunned, come over and eat!” Ye Anxin approached Mu Beiting, grabbed his sleeve, and pulled him towards the dining room.

Unfortunately, Mu Beiting didn’t react at all and remained standing there like a rock.

Ye Anxin turned back and finally saw Mu Beiting’s expression clearly with a closer look, puzzled, she asked, ”Uncle, what’s wrong with you? Are you unhappy?”

Mu Beiting quietly looked at her, and after a long while, he asked, ”Did you know I was coming back?”

Ye Anxin was jolted awake, hurriedly looked up, and anxiously explained, ”No, no, Uncle, you misunderstood, Pete didn’t tell me about your itinerary, it’s a coincidence, purely coincidental!”

Her words undoubtedly confirmed Mu Beiting’s suspicions, and Mu Beiting’s brows furrowed even tighter, tight enough to kill a fly.

It was only after the words were spoken did Ye Anxin realize she had sold Pete out.

Mu Beiting glanced at her without a word and headed straight upstairs.

Ye Anxin quickly grabbed his arm, anxiously asking, ”Uncle, it really has nothing to do with Pete. I begged him, can you not blame him? If you’re going to blame someone, blame me!”

Mu Beiting stopped his steps, turned around and looked at her, his thin lips slightly opening, ”Are you very concerned about him?”

”Ah...!” Ye Anxin was taken aback, momentarily unable to understand what he meant.

Mu Beiting didn’t say anything else, released Ye Anxin’s hand from his arm, and went straight upstairs.

Ye Anxin hurried to catch up with him, jogging to his side, affectionately linked her arm with his, and said with a smile, ”Uncle, it really isn’t Pete’s fault, don’t take it out on him, okay? I’m just concerned about you and afraid you’ll be hungry, so I made you a midnight snack! Look, I still have classes tomorrow, and I haven’t gone to bed yet for your sake! This proves how much you mean to me! Uncle... Uncle...!” Seeing Mu Beiting still ignoring her, Ye Anxin called tenderly while gently shaking his arm.
