The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

”What’s Mr. Zeng’s plan?”

Anning quietly took a step back, asking Zeng Cheng with some apprehension.

Zeng Cheng looked at Anning like a startled little rabbit. Her small face was filled with vigilance and fear, making him greatly satisfied.

The first time he saw Anning, he liked her to the point of madness. To avoid going insane, Zeng Cheng tried to destroy Anning.

He took a step forward, then another, gradually closing in on Anning: ”I’ve been disturbed, my peace is gone, it’s quite a loss, Miss Zhu Er, you’ll have to compensate me for a lifetime.”

Anning blinked: ”What does that mean, sir?”

”What does it mean?”

Zeng Cheng laughed: ”It means you’ll be my servant, obeying my orders for life...”

As he spoke, Zeng Cheng reached out, intending to imprison Anning.

He knew Anning was at the Foundation Establishment Stage; for most people, Anning’s cultivation was already high. But for Zeng Cheng, Anning’s cultivation was not enough to be reckoned with.

Zeng Cheng was the most talented disciple in the younger generation of the Purple Sun Sword Sect, with the highest cultivation in the entire sect.

He reached Foundation Establishment at sixteen, and now ten years have passed. During these ten years, he continuously broke through several minor realms and is now at the fifth floor of the Foundation Establishment Stage.

It is known that post-Foundation Establishment, each layer is extremely difficult to advance, and with each advancement, both spiritual power and spell usage multiply exponentially.

With a five-layer difference in cultivation between Zeng Cheng and Anning, to imprison Anning was almost a piece of cake.

Zeng Cheng looked at Anning with conceit, raising his hand to cast a spell.

He cast a forbidden technique: ”Stay still, serve me well, and I might lessen your suffering.”

After casting the forbidden technique, Zeng Cheng reached out, intending to touch Anning’s face.

But as soon as he reached out, Anning slapped him in the face.

”Serve your damn family, serve your damn... Who do you take me for, your servant? Pfft, you have some nerve, don’t you.”

Anning kept cursing and slapped him a dozen times, leaving Zeng Cheng’s face red and swollen.

”What?”

Zeng Cheng was startled: ”How can you move?”

”I naturally can move.”

Anning sneered coldly, raising her hand to use a forbidden technique on Zeng Cheng, imprisoning him.

Zeng Cheng felt immobile, his face immediately filled with anxious fear: ”You, what are you going to do?”

”Stay still, won’t you.”

Anning laughed as she approached, flipping her hand to draw a dagger.

Using the dagger, she started to carve on Zeng Cheng’s face. Soon, his left cheek had a drawing of a turtle, and his right cheek bore the words: ”I am a turtle’s son.”

After carving the words, Anning smiled, admiring her work for a while: ”My calligraphy is getting better.”

Zeng Cheng’s cheeks pained unbearably, feeling blood dripping down, anxious, painful, and fearful: ”Miss Zhu, I was joking with you earlier, I had no ill intentions towards you, please let me go...”

Anning chuckled while tapping Zeng Cheng’s face with the dagger: ”Oh, what a coincidence, I was joking with you too, I had no ill intention towards you, just thought your face was good for painting and writing, so I casually drew and wrote a few words, you don’t mind, do you?”

Zeng Cheng was extremely furious, wishing to chop Anning into pieces, yet still smiling ingratiatingly: ”I don’t mind, not at all, it’s an honor for my face.”

Anning giggled: ”Is that so? Then I might as well write a few more words.”

Zeng Cheng’s expression drastically changed, terrified: ”No, it’s not necessary, my face is only so big, can’t fit much more.”

Anning sized Zeng Cheng up: ”If that’s the case, we’ll leave it at that.”

Zeng Cheng breathed a sigh of relief.

Anning took a spin: ”There’s no more space on your face, but your body still has room for writing, why don’t I write some on your body.”

Zeng Cheng was so scared he almost wet himself.

”No, it’s not necessary, you’re writing is too exhausting, what if you get tired?”

Anning didn’t respond to Zeng Cheng anymore. She took the dagger and cut his clothes into tatters, slashing him a few times, then pulled out a rope to bind Zeng Cheng, dragging him out of the bamboo forest. Finding a big tree by the small path, she tied Zeng Cheng upside down to it.

After binding him, Anning put away the dagger.

Zeng Cheng thought Anning would spare him, yet he didn’t expect Anning to reach out and point at Zeng Cheng’s Dantian, causing him to scream in agony and pass out.

Anning clapped her hands: ”Did you really think I’d let you off easy? Cutting weeds without removing the roots means spring comes back to life again.”

She laughed and quickly left that place.

Later, Anning found a crowded place where several family juniors were chatting and laughing, and she joined them, soon mingling with everyone.

Until Old Madam Liu’s birthday banquet began, Anning went to the main courtyard for dinner. There she encountered An Yue, whose eyes widened in shock: ”How did you come over here?”

Anning raised an eyebrow: ”It’s time to eat, naturally I’d come over.”

”It’s just...”

An Yue originally thought with Zeng Cheng’s temperament, he’d likely torment Anning half to death and ruin her reputation. She had already prepared herself not expecting to see Anning once the banquet began.

Yet unexpectedly, Anning seemed unscathed and composed.

”I was looking all over for you just now, why couldn’t I find you?”

An Yue feared Anning might figure something out and quickly changed the subject.

Anning shrugged: ”I was playing with Miss Wu and Mr. Zhou, by the way, where did you go, sister?”

An Yue was noticeably guilty: ”I didn’t play much, just found a place to rest for a while.”

”Oh.”

Anning nodded: ”Next time you find a good place to rest, remember to call me.”

”Sure, definitely next time.”

An Yue hurriedly changed the topic, talking about Mr. Zhou and Miss Wu.

As the banquet was nearing its end, a servant hurriedly ran to the main courtyard, whispered a few words to Old Madam Liu, causing her expression to change drastically: ”Go find the master, quickly...”

Anning’s eyes narrowed slightly, knowing someone must have found Zeng Cheng hanging from the tree.

The guests present noticed something was amiss with the Liu family and rose to say their goodbyes.

Anning followed Mrs. Zhu to leave inconspicuously.

Upon returning to the Zhu family, Anning sat on her bed with a broad smile curling her lips.

Zeng Cheng, that person, should be ruined for life.

Anning destroyed his spirit root and his cultivation, turning him into a real waste.

Moreover, he’s worse than a waste.

Although Xiao Qing had his spirit root destroyed before, he was at least still like an ordinary person. Plus, Xiao Qing had quite a handsome face, allowing him to get by.

But Zeng Cheng was different.

Anning painted a turtle on his face and wrote ”turtle’s son,” the wounds she inflicted were permanent. Even if Zeng Cheng returned to the Purple Sun Sword Sect and found the best spiritual medicine, his facial scars could not be healed.

He would forever carry the turtle and ”turtle’s son” markings, never daring to show himself, only living like a rat in the gutter.
