The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Yu Xin is about to graduate and has been looking for a job lately.

She studied at an arts college and is also seeking work in that field.

But nowadays, there are so many young women studying art, the market is flooded with talent, and it’s really not easy to find a job.

Yu Xin has been searching for several days but still hasn’t found a suitable job.

In the meantime, she shot a small advert but didn’t earn much from it. If she can’t find a job soon, she’ll run out of money.

Yu Xin went out for another half day and came back looking visibly exhausted.

She didn’t even want to eat, just cuddled Anning on the sofa: ”Dingding, if your sister can’t find a job soon, we’ll be drinking northwest wind.”

Yu Xin rarely shared her thoughts with outsiders, usually only venting to Anning: ”What do you think, should I head to the film city to be an extra?”

After thinking for a moment, Yu Xin shook her head again: ”No, if I work as an extra, no one will take care of you.”

”Meow.”

Anning gave a meow, feeling really comfortable in Yu Xin’s arms, not wanting to move at all.

But she had to move.

Anning pawed at Yu Xin’s phone, and Yu Xin picked it up: ”This is sister’s phone, Dingding, don’t play with it.”

Anning ignored her and continued to paw at it, so Yu Xin had no choice but to coax Anning: ”Dingding likes to play with this, huh? Okay, sister will buy you one later.”

Anning nodded.

Yu Xin was momentarily stunned.

She realized that her cat was hinting that she wanted a phone.

Understanding this, Yu Xin chuckled: ”Dingding, how can you be so trendy, as a little cat wanting to play with phones? What do you want to do? Watch short videos? Or...”

Suddenly, Yu Xin froze.

She came up with an idea.

With short videos and live streaming being so popular now, if she can’t find a job quickly, maybe she should shoot some short videos?

She heard of many people who got famous from short videos and some internet celebrities who entered the film industry and thrived.

Being an extra seems tough, so why not try something else?

Yu Xin laughed while holding Anning, lovingly rubbing Anning’s forehead: ”Our Dingding is a fortunate little cat, you reminded your sister of what she should do.”

Looking at Anning, Yu Xin suddenly knew what to shoot.

Their Dingding is so good and smart, why not shoot some videos themed around Dingding?

Now, online, there are videos of cute babies, comedy sketches, and even elderly people, but not many about pets. If hers were well done, maybe it could really take off.

Anning knew Yu Xin’s mindset; she wanted to help too.

Recently, An Xin had been making several entries and exits in the financial market, earning a lot of money. Anning distributed it across several accounts, and the money previously taken from Yu Xin was long returned, yet Yu Xin had no idea her cat had used her money to make money.

Anning couldn’t tell Yu Xin about the money in the accounts, and with not much savings left, Yu Xin naturally started worrying.

Anning had also thought about investing in a web drama that could become a hit, letting Yu Xin join with funding.

Now seeing that Yu Xin wanted to shoot short videos, she changed her plan, deciding to let Yu Xin try shooting first and see how it goes before considering other options.

Nonetheless, Anning had several plans ready.

For the next few days, Anning would go online at night to find suitable novels for filming, but no suitable ones were found.

After several days of mulling over, Anning decided to write them herself.

Of course, she couldn’t write novels as a cat.

After all, with those tiny paws, even if she typed fast, actually writing a novel would ruin them.

Anning used her mind to write; after having an idea, she let An Xin convert those into words.

When registering an author account, Anning fabricated the details, conjuring up a person out of thin air.

Of course, if investigated, this person would exist; everything would be traceable — from birth to upbringing, leaving no room for doubt about their existence.

After registering the author account and creating a new work, An Xin began uploading Anning’s work.

Day after day, the cat and the person worked on this.

Additionally, Yu Xin truly spoiled Anning, actually buying her a phone.

When Anning received the phone, she was overjoyed, even playfully pleading with Yu Xin to get her a phone case, and if they went out, having Yu Xin hang the phone around her neck.

Initially, Yu Xin worried the phone was too heavy and hanging it on Anning’s neck would be uncomfortable, but after a few outings and seeing her running quickly with the phone, Yu Xin stopped worrying.

On Xiao Yuan’s side, after Xiang Boyuan signed the contract, filming was about to start.

The shoot began with showing how the star and his pet live at home.

Early that morning, the crew arrived at Xiang Boyuan’s house, setting up various equipment, getting ready to film.

The first shots filmed the situation at Xiang Boyuan’s home, and then it was Xiao Yuan’s turn to appear.

Filming started at 7 a.m. Xiang Boyuan was still sleeping at this time, lazing in bed, while Xiao Yuan was already awake, heading to the kitchen to grab a plate. He opened a bottle of mineral water himself using his paws and mouth, poured water into the dish, and began drinking.

The filming crew was thrilled by these shots.

Xiao Yuan’s actions were simply too captivating.

A seemingly silly, adorable big dog skillfully opening bottles, drinking water himself, and finding his own food was truly impressive.

Most importantly, after eating, this dog would still think of his owner.

He would open the fridge to get food containers out, heat them in the microwave, and then run to the bedroom to wake his owner.

The female staff, seeing Xiao Yuan busily moving around, almost squealed with delight, each wanting such an amazing dog.

Those with dogs at home felt a complex mix of emotions, realizing their pets were like simpletons compared to others.

Xiang Boyuan had gotten used to Xiao Yuan doing things for him over the past few days and wasn’t as amazed anymore.

Now, he was completely calm while watching Xiao Yuan heat up a meal for him.

Lazing in bed, not wanting to get up, Xiao Yuan would tug at his blanket, barking to signal him to get up.

Xiang Boyuan reluctantly got up after a while.

With disheveled bed hair, drowsily coming out of the bedroom, he yawned while taking the heated meal from the microwave, seeing a bit of meat inside, and gave some to Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan, tasting the meat, looked utterly blissful, an expression the photographer captured in many shots.

After breakfast and tidying up, Xiang Boyuan took Xiao Yuan out for a walk.

Before leaving, he dressed Xiao Yuan in doggy clothes and took a phone case with a broad strap, put the phone inside, and hung it around Xiao Yuan’s neck.

When Xiao Yuan saw the phone, his eyes lit up. Once the phone was hung, he pawed at it and then smiled at Xiang Boyuan.

Indeed, in the footage, Xiao Yuan’s expression was clearly a smile, making the crew want to laugh.

”Knowing it’s your favorite. Your master now steps back.”

Xiang Boyuan looked quite helpless, ever since that phone little demon appeared, he didn’t garner much attention from Dangdang, realizing he’d end up vying with a phone for affection.
