The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Slapping the Fake Heiress 47

Anning brought her classmates back to her home, and on the way, she ordered some snacks and drinks to be delivered.

It was too late already, and Aunt Zhang probably had gone to bed long ago, so Anning didn’t want to trouble her anymore.

Right when they arrived home, the delivery person brought the items.

Anning asked several classmates to help bring them in, and they placed everything on the coffee table in the living room.

She laughed and said, ”You guys start eating and drinking first, I’ll go to the kitchen to see what I can whip up.”

Xiao Yuan took off his down jacket and hung it up: ”I’ll go with you.”

Anning glanced at Xiao Yuan’s neatly tailored suit: ”Maybe you shouldn’t, with you dressed like that...”

”It’s fine.” Xiao Yuan took off his suit jacket, revealing his white shirt. He rolled up his sleeves to the elbow, displaying his muscular forearms: ”I’ll be your assistant.”

The students from class twelve probably all knew that Xiao Yuan was pursuing Anning, so nobody else offered to help.

Even Gao Nana, who usually took good care of Anning, didn’t offer to be of assistance.

And so, Xiao Yuan just went into the kitchen like that.

Anning opened the fridge and took a look, it was packed with a lot of vegetables and there was still meat, definitely enough to make a substantial meal.

She thought that Zhao Han and Song Ruyi probably hadn’t eaten yet, so she planned to cook more so everyone could have a warm meal together when they returned.

”What shall we make?”

Anning asked Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan, seeing Anning take out some beef and quite a few vegetables, thought for a moment and suggested, ”It’s late, let’s not make anything too complicated, let’s just make some beef noodles.”

There were quite a few students from class twelve, and if they had to prepare dishes, they would need to make a lot, which would be too exhausting.

Xiao Yuan knew how to be considerate towards Anning; he didn’t want Anning to get worn out because of those folks.

Anning thought about it and agreed, looking at the large chunks of beef, she said: ”Okay.”

She started to stew the beef for soup and mixed and rested the dough. While resting the dough, Anning deftly made several cold dishes and also prepared a fruit platter.

After she was done, she asked Xiao Yuan to bring it to the dining table, then she positioned the chopping board and smiled at Xiao Yuan, ”Watch closely, I’ll show you a trick.”

Xiao Yuan watched Anning, dazzled by her skills.

Anning didn’t use a rolling pin or a noodle machine to make noodles; instead, she pulled them by hand.

Her movements were quick and smooth as she kneaded and pulled the dough, and when it came to pulling noodles, it was like watching the clouds and flowing water – Xiao Yuan was thoroughly impressed.

A few classmates smelled the aroma of the beef soup and came over to see if the meal was ready, just in time to catch Anning pulling noodles, which almost made their jaws drop. They hurriedly went to call the others over.

As a result, everyone crowded at the kitchen door, watching Anning pull noodles, each as thin as a piece of hair from such a large lump of dough, all stupefied.

Anning would pull some noodles and throw them into the pot to cook, then pull some more.

Once the noodles were cooked, she directed Xiao Yuan to serve them into bowls for everyone, and she also demonstrated herself, showing Xiao Yuan how to pour the soup.

Snow-white thin noodles drenched with deep red broth, topped with large slices of beef and blanched greens, and coriander. The white, red, and green colors were perfectly matched.

What really made everyone salivate was the delicious aroma.

Xiao Yuan served a few bowls of noodles, and before he could take a bite himself, his classmates snatched them away, leading to a continuous round of noodle-snatching warfare.

Anning didn’t even know how many noodles she had pulled, but in the end, all the classmates were clutching their bellies, slumped on the sofa or chairs.

Seeing that everyone had overeaten, Anning quickly went to find some digestive tablets, to prevent any stomachaches later.

Gao Nana took the digestive tablets and immediately hugged Anning tight: ”Anning, you are simply amazing, so virtuous... What do you think? How about we make a pair? Either you marry me or I’ll marry you, either is fine.”

Right after that, Gao Nana was confronted with Xiao Yuan’s blade-sharp gaze.

If looks could kill, Gao Nana would have died eight hundred times over.

However, she was not afraid of Xiao Yuan: ”Anning, is that okay?”

Anning pursed her lips and smiled, but did not reply to Gao Nana.

The group sat for a while longer, and as it passed midnight, they began to say their reluctant goodbyes.

Xiao Yuan was the last to leave.

When he left, Zhao Han and the others had not yet returned, so Xiao Yuan was a bit worried: ”Should I wait for your dad and them to come back before I go? I’m really not at ease with you being at home alone.”

Anning smiled and pushed him out the door: ”It’s fine, Aunt Zhang is here, and besides, our neighborhood is very safe, and we have excellent security at home, nothing will happen to me.”

Xiao Yuan was pushed out by Anning.

He left unwillingly.

Almost immediately after Xiao Yuan left, Zhao Han and the others arrived.

Anning, hearing the sound of the car, hurried out to meet them.

She saw Song Ruyi and Zhao Mingrui helping Zhao Han out of the car from both sides.

”Dad?”

Anning walked over anxiously: ”What’s wrong?”

Zhao Han waved his hand: ”It’s nothing, just probably a bit of high blood pressure.”

Anning immediately ran inside the house.

By the time Zhao Han and the rest were settled in the house, Anning had already brought out the blood pressure monitor.

”Dad, please take your blood pressure.”

Zhao Han really felt a bit uncomfortable and let Anning take his blood pressure, which turned out to be quite high.

Anning became very worried: ”Dad, where do you feel uncomfortable? Should we go to the hospital right away?”

Zhao Han smiled and waved his hand: ”It’s fine, I took my blood pressure medication in the car, it will go down soon, don’t worry.”

Anning forced a smile: ”Right, have you guys eaten? I made beef noodles, if you haven’t eaten, I can serve you some.”

”Why did you think of making beef noodles?”

Song Ruyi looked very tired, but still got up and walked towards the kitchen.

Anning said with a smile: ”Isn’t it because our classmates were not full? They were playing at our place just now, all starving, so I made them some noodles.”

Entering the kitchen, Anning heated up the soup and pulled out four bowls of noodles.

She was a bit hungry now, so she made herself a small bowl of noodles too.

The steaming noodles were brought out, Zhao Han and Zhao Mingrui each grabbed a bowl and started eating with big bites.

Song Ruyi was also very hungry, now eating her noodles as well.

After the family of four finished their noodles, Song Ruyi insisted on not letting Anning wash the dishes, she went into the kitchen to wash the bowls, then came out and asked Zhao Han: ”Husband, why did you agree to let Zhao Mingzhu return to the Liu Family? Look at what those people from the Liu Family are like, especially that Liu Qing, talking about selling Zhao Mingzhu, if Mingzhu goes back there, who knows how much they will torment her to death.”

Zhao Han’s face worsened when Zhao Mingzhu was mentioned.

He frowned: ”That was her own doing.”

”What exactly happened?” Now Zhao Mingrui was also confused, when he first learned Zhao Mingzhu was not his biological daughter, Zhao Han was extremely unwilling to let Zhao Mingzhu return to the Liu Family, why has he changed his mind after not so long?
