The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 143: Chapter 143: Slapping the Fake Heiress 44

Anning has been quite busy recently.

She helped strengthen the firewall for Zhao Group, and also conducted testing for the Xiao Family’s company.

In the midst of her busy schedule, her birthday quickly approached.

It happened to fall on a Saturday.

Anning had made arrangements early with her classmates to attend her birthday banquet and formally sent out invitations.

She started her preparations early in the morning.

After lunch, she had to try on her gown and style her hair; it was truly exhausting by the end of the day.

In the evening, she took a car with Zhao Han and Song Ruyi to a hotel owned by the Zhao Family.

In the car, Anning quietly asked Song Ruyi, ”Isn’t it bad not to let my sister come?”

Song Ruyi was still angry at Zhao Mingzhu.

She really didn’t want to see Zhao Mingzhu.

Moreover, she was afraid that Zhao Mingzhu’s presence would ruin the entire banquet.

”It’s okay.”

She smiled and reassured Anning: ”When we go back tonight, I’ll have someone send a birthday gift to your sister.”

Anning didn’t say anything further.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the family got off the car and went inside, and Anning went to the lounge to read.

Soon, the hotel was bustling with people; many guests had arrived.

Zhao Minghan arrived with students from class twelve to find Anning in the lounge.

Anning could no longer read in peace; she had the hotel’s staff bring some food and drinks, and everyone sat together chatting and laughing.

When the banquet started, Anning appeared in the dining hall behind Zhao Han and Song Ruyi.

Zhao Han stood on the central platform and gestured for Anning to come up.

Anning walked slowly to the platform with a smile.

Zhao Han raised his hand to signal silence: ”Thank you all for attending my daughter’s birthday banquet.”

He took Anning’s hand: ”As many of you might have heard, Zhao Mingzhu is not my biological daughter, but this young lady beside me is. She is the real daughter of the Zhao Family.”

Anning greeted everyone with a smile: ”Thank you for coming. I never expected my life to be so fraught with ups and downs, and never imagined that my life had been misplaced. Now, everything is back on track, I am back with my family who truly love and care for me, and I am very happy.”

She looked up at Zhao Han: ”I am very thankful to my parents who thoughtfully prepared this birthday banquet and sincerely introduced me to everyone. I am truly grateful.”

Anning smiled on the stage, appearing relaxed and unreserved.

Many of Zhao Han’s contemporaries nodded with smiles, thinking the Zhao Family’s daughter was in no way inferior to Zhao Mingzhu, and her demeanor and grace were also commendable, which was fortunate for the Zhao Family.

After Anning finished speaking, Zhao Han took her down to introduce her to some relatives and friends.

Anning kept a smile on her face, mingling with Zhao Han and Song Ruyi among the many guests.

While Anning was getting acquainted with many people, Xiao Yuan and Zhang Ke along with several others were guarding the entrances of the hotel with the hotel’s security staff.

Xiao Yuan still had red hair and wore a sapphire blue suit, looking spirited.

He leaned against a pillar at the hotel entrance, taking out a lollipop from his pocket and putting it in his mouth.

Several security guards stood straight behind him.

The hotel was warm as spring and brightly lit, but the entrance area felt quite cold.

However, Xiao Yuan didn’t feel cold at all.

Thinking about the task Anning had entrusted to him energized him immensely.

As the banquet was about halfway through, Xiao Yuan squinted his eyes; he saw a few people approaching from a distance and immediately straightened up: ”Guys, let’s be alert. If we catch the person this time, I’ll give you a bonus.”

The security guards laughed: ”There’s no need for that, the young miss said she would give us double the bonus.”

Xiao Yuan raised his eyebrows and smiled.

As those few people approached, Xiao Yuan took out his phone to check the photo saved on it, and looked at those people, confirming they were indeed the same.

”It’s these people.”

Xiao Yuan identified them and directed the security guards to step forward.

Mr. Liu and Mrs. Liu looked at the particularly high-end hotel before them, feeling somewhat jittery in their hearts and their legs somewhat weak.

Mrs. Liu whispered, ”Should we really go in?”

Mr. Liu spat in disdain, ”Damn it, go in, why wouldn’t we? If we don’t go in, where else can we get money? They promised us five million, but neither the people nor the money have been seen. There’s no such a cheap deal in the world.”

Liu Qing tugged at Mrs. Liu’s clothes, ”Mom, I’m hungry.”

”Then let’s hurry in, there’s a lot of delicious food inside. You can eat whatever you want, son.” Mrs. Liu smiled and pulled Liu Qing towards the inside.

However, before they could reach the entrance, Xiao Yuan led the security team over.

”The hotel has been booked for a banquet, no outsiders allowed.”

One of the security guards explained nicely to the Liu family.

Mrs. Liu pouted, and Liu Qing went straight to kick the security guard, ”Move aside, my sister is inside. I want to find my sister, and if you dare stop me I’ll kill you all.”

In Liu Qing’s view, Zhao Anning was at his disposal to hit, let alone the Zhao Family’s security. He wasn’t scared at all.

The security guard dodged the kick.

He reached out and grabbed Liu Qing, ”I already said you can’t enter, yet you still try to run inside?”

Mr. Liu quickly put on a smiling face and took out cigarettes, ”Here, have some cigarettes, guys.”

None of the security guards took the cigarettes.

Mr. Liu smiled and explained, ”Today is my daughter’s birthday banquet, we’ve come from afar to celebrate. You see...”

Xiao Yuan scoffed twice, ”These days, anything and everything can pop out, all sorts of bizarre things, it’s the Zhao Family’s princess’s birthday banquet today, and all four family members are inside. Since when did these bizarre people pop up.”

Hearing Xiao Yuan mock them, Liu Qing instantly got agitated, ”What do you know, you...”

The term ”red-haired freak” infuriated Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan slapped Liu Qing across the face, causing one side of Liu Qing’s face to swell.

After hitting Liu Qing, Xiao Yuan took a wet wipe to clean his hands, then meticulously adjusted his hair, ”Damn, can’t even tell how cool and handsome young master is, and you dare to insult me? Insult me again and I’ll hit you so hard you’ll stick to the wall, unable to be scraped off.”

Liu Qing burst into tears.

He pointed at Xiao Yuan, ”Dad, beat him up for me, beat him to death...”

Heh.

Xiao Yuan chuckled, waved his hand, and several security guards immediately went over and restrained the Liu family trio.

”Lock them up.”

Xiao Yuan appeared very pleased.

Now that the annoying flies were dealt with, he could go in and accompany Anning.

Zhao Mingzhu hid behind a large tree, watching from afar as the Liu family trio were restrained and taken away by security, her eyes reddening with frustration.

”More trouble than they’re worth.”

Seeing several security guards still guarding the main entrance, Zhao Mingzhu knew she couldn’t go past them.

She thought for a moment, then circled around to the back door trying to get in.

There, she just happened to bump into Zhang Ke and Gao Nana.

Gao Nana had always been at odds with Zhao Mingzhu.

Seeing Zhao Mingzhu, she walked straight over and slapped Zhao Mingzhu’s shoulder, ”I’ve been waiting for you, why didn’t you come a bit earlier? You’ve nearly frozen me to death.”

Zhang Ke was also cold.

”Sister Gao, let’s hurry up and lock this person up. It’s both cold and hungry, I can’t take it anymore.”

Gao Nana laughed, ”Alright, let’s lock it up.”
