The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 124: Chapter 124 Slapping the Fake Rich Girl Part 25

Zhang Ke had been waiting at the school entrance since early morning.

Anning arrived at school early today and was quite surprised to see Zhang Ke at the gate: ”You’re pretty early today.”

Zhang Ke smiled: ”Isn’t that the truth? I’m waiting for my good bro, to see whether he actually turns up as a human or a ghost. Can you believe that last night he suddenly told me he wanted to study hard? It scared the hell out of me, what a joke! The perennial last-placer in our grade suddenly wants to study; can you imagine how low the odds for that are...”

Anning, with a smile on her face, took out a box of small snacks from her bag: ”This is for you.”

”Whoa, hey.”

Zhang Ke took it and stuffed a snack into his mouth: ”Why so nice today, even bringing me snacks? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for me.”

Anning raised her foot and kicked: ”Even eating doesn’t shut you up, scram.”

Zhang Ke jumped to the side, only to land beside Xiao Yuan, who was standing next to him with a darkened face.

Xiao Yuan narrowed his eyes: ”What exactly did you just say?”

Zhang Ke was terrified and coughed several times, snack crumbs spraying out: ”Nothing, nothing...just joking around.”

Xiao Yuan let go of Zhang Ke and looked particularly aggrieved, giving Anning a face full of sourness.

Upon seeing this, Anning quickly pulled out another box of snacks and a small pink lunchbox, not very large, and stuffed it into Xiao Yuan’s hands: ”I really thank you for yesterday. These are all made by me, try them.”

After giving them to him, Anning dashed into the school.

Xiao Yuan, holding the snacks and breakfast, couldn’t hide the smile on his face.

He nudged Zhang Ke: ”See that? Anning made them by hand, specially for me.”

”Come on, have a taste.” Zhang Ke wanted to open the lunchbox to steal some food, but Xiao Yuan kept it well-hidden: ”No can do, even if you’re my good bro, I can’t let you eat it.”

He nodded and shook his head, his head of Red hair becoming even more noticeable.

Just then, Teacher Wu rode his bicycle over and saw Xiao Yuan and Zhang Ke causing a commotion at the school gate, he frowned: ”What are you doing? Get to your classroom and study, why are you making a ruckus here? Want to make your heads of red and green hair even more noticeable?”

Zhang Ke put on a smiley face: ”We were just about to go in. Good morning, Teacher Wu. You see, knowing how hard-working you are, I specially prepared some snacks for you, you should give them a try.”

He took out a few pieces of the snacks Anning had given him and handed them to Teacher Wu: ”You work so hard teaching and educating us. Don’t worry, from now on we’ll study hard, definitely, definitely.”

Teacher Wu was simultaneously irritated and amused: ”Cut it out, you think I don’t know what you’re up to... Hurry up to the classroom.”

Zhang Ke pulled Xiao Yuan into the school.

Zhao Mingzhu watched this scene with a mocking smile on her lips.

Those students from Class 12 only have sharp tongues and are slightly better at fighting, nothing else noteworthy, the whole class is trash, and Anning hanging out with them won’t get her far either.

Zhao Mingzhu thought, with midterms coming up soon, Anning’s exam results would probably be too embarrassing for her to show her face.

Moreover, Zhao Han and Song Ruyi pay particular attention to exam results, they probably won’t be so fond of Anning when that time comes.

Zhao Mingzhu thought, just wait for it, when the exam results come out, she would crush Anning with her grades, and let Song Ruyi see that no matter what, someone who grew up in a small place just can’t compete with someone like her, who has been by Song Ruyi’s side for fifteen years.

Thinking this, Zhao Mingzhu felt much more cheerful inside.

She walked into the school with light steps.

As soon as Anning entered the classroom, she started to take out her books to read.

After a while, Xiao Yuan and Zhang Ke also came in.

Xiao Yuan put his backpack on the desk and then edged closer to Anning: ”Anning, I...”

Anning turned her head towards Xiao Yuan: ”What’s up?”

Xiao Yuan hemmed and hawed: ”Thanks for the snacks and breakfast, you’re really thoughtful, and the food was especially delicious.”

Heaven knows he hadn’t eaten a single bite, planning to hide it and savor it quietly when he got home after school.

Anning smiled: ”Glad you like it.”

Xiao Yuan, looking downwards at his fingers: ”Can I ask you questions if there’s anything I don’t understand later on?”

”Of course.” Anning continued reading her book.

Xiao Yuan was over the moon, as if he was on a chicken-blood high. He went back to his seat and started reading his textbook.

After a while, Xiao Yuan asked Anning a question, and Anning very sincerely explained it to him.

Only when Xiao Yuan understood, did Anning put down her book: ”First memorize the things that need to be recited and remembered, so you can quickly improve your scores. Let’s aim to raise our grades a bit by the midterms, and then I’ll help you with subjects like math and physics.”

”Okay.”

Xiao Yuan’s mouth almost split to his cheeks with joy.

His dumbfounded look made Anning almost too embarrassed to look at him.

When most of the students had arrived, Xiao Yuan stood up on the podium and said loudly: ”Fellow classmates, we can’t keep playing the fool anymore, we can’t keep wasting our precious time and the limited life we have. From today onwards, starting with me, we need to study hard, we need to raise our grades, to show those who look down on us that we’re not dumb or stupid, we just haven’t been putting in the effort. If we really try, those people have nothing on us.”

Zhang Ke covered his face, shrinking into a ball, pretending not to know Xiao Yuan.

Dong Xue jumped up: ”Xiao Yuan, are you sick or what, you...”

Anning looked at Dong Xue with particularly sad eyes: ”Sister Xue Xue, I’ve always been studying hard. Are you saying I’m sick?”

Dong Xue, seeing Anning’s reddening eyes that seemed to cry if she dared to agree, panicked and waved her hands: ”No, I didn’t, I wasn’t talking about you, I was saying...”

”But what Xiao Yuan said is exactly what I wanted to say.”

Anning blinked, and two crystal tears fell.

Dong Xue, who was not one to resist a soft approach, was so scared she didn’t dare to say another word.

Xiao Yuan continued: ”Later on, I will supervise everyone. Together we’ll improve our grades and march towards brilliance...”

After he stepped down from the podium, he was surrounded by classmates, and a group of boys collectively berated Xiao Yuan.

Then, Xiao Yuan let his fists tell them who they should listen to.

It was at this time that Anning realized Xiao Yuan’s combat power was pretty high.

Dong Xue whispered to Anning: ”Xiao Yuan has been trained in martial arts. He was kidnapped when he was very young, and he has been learning martial arts ever since. He’s really good at fighting. Previously, he just fooled around, and everyone thought he was a no-hoper. But in reality, if he really fought, none of the guys in class could beat him.”

Anning nodded with a smile: ”He seems quite impressive.”

Hence, the entire day, due to Xiao Yuan’s firm suppression, all the students in class 12 studied and worked on practice questions, which completely surprised all the teachers, to the point they almost thought they entered the wrong classroom.

During the break, several subject teachers gathered to discuss the abnormal phenomenon in class 12.

”Could they be holding back for some big move? We should be vigilant.”

”What’s with these kids? We used to be upset that they didn’t study, but now... I feel uneasy.”
