Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 395: Chapter 246: Paldea Is My Home, but I Will Never Forget Galar

”It took me quite a lot of effort back then to tame them!”

Naoki looked at Glastrier, whose face was practically screaming ”I want to run but I don’t dare,” and turned to ask, ”Can you restore your power like this now?”

Calyrex shook its head: ”Not yet. Only by using the Reins of Unity to directly transmit my power to it will it once again swear loyalty to me.”

This loyalty probably refers to the resonance of power between Calyrex and Glastrier, merging into the form of Calyrex riding a white horse, Naoki thought.

The function of the Reins of Unity should be similar to Kyurem’s DNA Splicers.

After a brief contemplation, Naoki said, ”Then let’s go back to the village first and use its mane and the Radiant Flower to make the reins.”

It was already evening now, and night was about to fall.

Calyrex nodded gently: ”I will leave my beloved horse in your care for the moment. In the meantime, I will go investigate the whereabouts of my other favorite horse. This is all in your hands!”

After speaking, Calyrex glanced at Glastrier, who was bowing respectfully to Koraidon in front of it. After healing its injuries, Calyrex used Teleport to go investigate the location of Spectrier.

Naoki stood in place for quite a while, then smiled helplessly: ”It’s really...”

Oh well!

He turned to Glastrier, about to say something, when he noticed it looking longingly at the Iceroot Carrots in the nearby field, as if it were about to drool.

Naoki: ”...”

A foodie Glastrier, huh?

Suppressing a laugh, he said to the horse, ”Go ahead and eat; those were planted for you by Calyrex.”

Hearing this, Glastrier’s eyes lit up, but then it hesitantly looked at Koraidon again.

”Aghh...” (Such a scaredy-cat...)

Koraidon twitched its mouth and waved a claw at Glastrier, who then trotted happily to the field and began munching on the Iceroot Carrots.

Even after eating all the Iceroot Carrots in the field, it still had a look of unsatisfied hunger on its face.

Since there was other business to attend to, Naoki pretended not to see.

He returned to Freezington Village with Koraidon and Glastrier, and as soon as they entered, they immediately drew the attention of the villagers.

An elderly woman was full of surprise: ”Where did this Horse-type Pokemon come from?”

A young man, eyes sparkling, said, ”This snowy white fur, this strong physique, it’s an unprecedentedly fine horse!”

Riley, who was wandering around in the village, also noticed the commotion. He walked over with great surprise and asked, ”Is this a Pokemon you just captured on the snowfield?”

Naoki initially wanted to say no but then remembered that Calyrex seemed unwilling to reveal its identity, so he changed his answer mid-sentence: ”That’s right, I just happened to encounter it while wandering on the snowfield.”

”That’s amazing!” Riley praised.

Naoki gave a polite, slight smile, then bid farewell to the villagers and headed to the village elder’s house.

He left Glastrier outside in the snow, asking Koraidon to keep an eye on it.

He then found the old village elder and inquired about the Reins of Unity.

Hearing Naoki’s request, the village elder looked quite shocked: ”What?! You want me to help you make the Reins of Unity?”

Naoki nodded: ”Yes.”

The village elder seemed a bit troubled: ”I’ve already told you before, no one remembers the traditional method of making it anymore.”

”My ancestors did model after the legendary method, but that is a long-forgotten, ancient tradition...”

The village elder murmured thoughtfully, and then, as if struck by a realization, a look of shock appeared on his face.

”If this is true, then... then the legend of Calyrex is true too? No, no, how could that be?!”
