Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 372: Chapter 238: Sharing Mom (4k)

At 10 a.m., a group of people began arranging the area around the large cooking pot.

Mayor Thomas also arrived at this time, dressed in formal attire appropriate for the occasion, holding a gentleman’s cane, accompanied by a Cyclizar.

Mayor Thomas, representing the entire Porto Marinada Town, stepped onto the platform, took the microphone from someone beside him, and said in a kind tone:

”Welcome, everyone, to this year’s Thanksgiving festival. I also want to thank you all for bringing such delicious ingredients for the celebration. By noon, we will put everyone’s ingredients into the pot; I believe it will cook an incredibly delicious stew.”

”However, before the feast officially begins, please be patient as our staff is setting up the venue.”

Naoki stood in a less crowded area watching this scene, with Pokemon like Dragonite, Cyclizar, Koraidon, Pawmot, and Glaceon by his side.

The smaller Alcremie stood on Dragonite’s shoulder.

Naoki glanced at the Cyclizar next to Mayor Thomas and then asked his own Cyclizar, ”Cyclizar, is that Cyclizar your relative?”

Hearing this, Cyclizar glanced over and happily nodded.

”Raaawr~”

Indeed, that’s its mother.

Sure enough! Naoki thought about how Cyclizar had left its parents when it was just a few months old to come to his ranch. Maybe, like human children, it also misses its mom.

So he naturally asked, ”Do you want to go over and talk to her?”

Cyclizar blinked its eyes, then cheerfully said, ”Raaawr!”

”I knew it.” Naoki smiled and said to it, ”Wait here; I’ll go invite Mayor Thomas over, Koraidon, can you watch over everyone for me?”

”Graagh!”

Just as Naoki was about to approach Mayor Thomas, he saw that Mayor Thomas had already spotted him in the crowd and was bringing the Cyclizar over.

”Ah, it’s Naoki! You arrived quite early; the feast hasn’t started yet, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer,” Mayor Thomas said.

Naoki shook his head with a smile, ”It’s okay, there’s not much work at the ranch right now anyway, I was just about to find you.”

Mayor Thomas looked a bit surprised, ”Did something happen?”

”No, Cyclizar just wants to see its parents.”

As he spoke, Naoki looked at the Cyclizar beside him.

By now, the Cyclizar’s mother had recognized her child.

She looked at her child with a kind gaze, noticing how strong it had become. It was clear this human had taken good care of it.

The Cyclizar’s mother was sincerely delighted, lifting her head to let out an excited cry, ”Raaawr!”

Cyclizar also looked very happy, ”Raaawr~”

It was reassuring its mother not to worry, expressing how much it liked its current life and Naoki.

Just then, an untimely growl suddenly broke in.

”Graagh!”

Hearing this growl, the Cyclizar’s mother turned to see a tall, strong, and fearsomely scary Pokemon staring at her.

She was startled and instinctively stepped back.

Seeing this, Koraidon looked deeply hurt, even its tone turned very dejected, ”Graagh...”

”Does Koraidon miss its mom too?” Mayor Thomas, standing by, seemed to understand and softly comforted, ”Though I don’t know where you came from, I’m sure your mother loves you very much, because there are no parents in the world who don’t love their children.”

”Graagh...” Koraidon lowered its head, silent.

Naoki reached out to gently pat its head.

Koraidon lifted its head.

Naoki gave it a smile, ”Mayor Thomas is right, your mother surely loves you dearly, don’t be sad, we’re here with you now.”

”Graa!”

Koraidon regained a little spirit, turning back to the Cyclizar and gave it a call, ”Graa... Raaawr!”

Hearing this, Cyclizar next to it looked at Koraidon with a silly, bewildered look on its face.

Meanwhile, the Cyclizar’s mother was taken aback and then looked at the fierce-looking big Pokemon in disbelief.

”Raaawr?” she tentatively asked.

”Graa~” Koraidon’s tone was cheerful.

The Cyclizar’s mother’s eyes widened.

She was just a very ordinary Cyclizar, living in this simple little town.

She knew very little about the world, and for her, the happiest thing was to be by her master’s side.

And now, the big Pokemon was calling her ”mom”...

Initially, the Cyclizar’s mother doubted when she had given birth to such a child, but then the other party claimed they really missed her.

Following her maternal instincts, she vaguely felt a connection with this big fellow, similar to her feeling with Cyclizar.

Could it be... this Pokemon was also her child?

She was completely baffled, having no idea when she might have had such a child.

The Cyclizar’s mother couldn’t understand.

She looked at the strong, evidently battle-hardened Pokemon in front of her, hesitated for a moment, and then said, ”Raaawr...” (Though I don’t know what you’ve been through, you must have had some tough times all these years?)
