Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 381: Chapter 242: The Crown Tundra!

Under Naoki’s curious gaze, Koraidon’s not-so-bright brain began to think.

It looked at the lively Lono bouncing in the sea of neon lights, and then glanced at the low-key Naoki in front of it.

Koraidon suddenly realized that this time is still too early; its little master hasn’t been born yet, and Naoki doesn’t seem to recognize Lono.

”Ah gaaah...”

Koraidon’s head drooped down.

Naoki carefully recalled and discovered that Koraidon seemed to not have eaten much at noon.

It’s already late now. Could it be that it’s hungry and doesn’t want to stay here?

Thinking of this, Naoki asked, ”Hungry?”

Koraidon’s attention was slightly diverted, and it carefully felt, indeed hearing a growling noise from its stomach.

It nodded its big head, ”Ah gaaah!”

Naoki couldn’t help but laugh, ”Alright, then let’s not watch anymore. Let’s go buy boat tickets and eat on the ship.”

”Ah gaaah~”

Koraidon gladly agreed.

So Naoki didn’t continue to stay, but turned and left this place with Koraidon.

Passing through the Central Square, Naoki saw the towering lighthouse on the coast, with a brightly lit building nearby, and several giant ships docked on the sea on the other side of the building.

That’s the departure point.

The departure point at night was still bustling, with tourists traveling to other regions and Trainers from other regions coming to the Paldea Region.

Just as Naoki arrived there, he heard a melodious whistle sound from the sea, as if a cruise ship was about to dock on the shore.

Naoki saw that the staff at the departure point started to get busy.

Soon, the passage at the exit was opened, and a lively group of humans and Pokémon carrying large bags came out from inside.

”One ticket to the Galar Region.”

Naoki approached the ticket counter and spoke to the young lady at the ticket booth.

The ticket seller glanced through the window at the young man outside and the large Pokémon beside him, and with a gentle smile, she said:

”Alright, the nearest cruise departs at 7:25 PM, with the destination being Hulbury Town in the Galar Region. The journey is expected to take three days. Would you like to take this route?”

Hulbury Town...

In Naoki’s mind appeared a lively port town with many shops and restaurants.

He nodded, ”Sure.”

Ticket Seller: ”The total is 3200 League Coins.”

Naoki paid the money.

Now that the time had reached evening, Naoki received the ticket from her, with half an hour left until the ship departs.

He didn’t loiter at the departure point but followed the staff’s guidance to the port, smoothly boarding the ship.

The ship wasn’t large, but its facilities were quite complete.

Restaurants, gym, barbershop, battlefield, Trainer exchange area, etc.

By now, plenty of passengers heading to the Galar Region had gathered on the ship.

Business people in suits, elegant upper-class women, young and passionate Pokémon Trainers...

Some people stayed on deck admiring the distant neon lights, while others gathered at the restaurant, enjoying with their Pokémon.

Naoki also sat at the dining table with Cyclizar and Koraidon.

Soon, a server in uniform brought them the menu.

”Grilled steak, Mapo tofu, soy sauce fried rice, omelet rice, sashimi, sushi, ham... quite a diverse range,” Naoki was somewhat surprised and casually ordered a few dishes as per his usual eating habits.

Shortly, the food was served, and Naoki tasted it, finding the flavor unexpectedly good.

He looked up at the two Pokémon in front of him and, lo and behold, saw them eating happily.

Seeing his Pokémon happy, Naoki was happy too. He smiled and said to them, ”Eat up, we’re going to stay here for three days.”

”Ga-roar~”

”Ah gaaah~”

The two Pokémon didn’t mind. To them, as long as they can stay by Naoki’s side, it didn’t matter where he took them.

Naoki smiled faintly and was about to focus on enjoying his meal when he heard a conversation from the table behind him.

”Ah, it’s a pity to miss Lono’s Gym Leader performance for catching this ship!”

Another person seemed a bit speechless, ”Hey, aren’t you obsessed? But honestly, how old is Lono this year? I somehow feel like she’s just a Trainer starting out on her journey.”

”Not at all! Hmm, I heard Lono became a Gym Leader two years ago, and back then she was only fourteen. Now she should be sixteen, almost seventeen, right? Such a vibrant teenage girl, who’s not enamored? That’s Lono’s charm!”

”...”

Naoki silently listened to this, feeling slightly surprised.

Sixteen years old? Four years younger than him...

Wait, is Lono really that old?

Wouldn’t that mean by the start of the game she’d be twenty-five or twenty-six?

She totally doesn’t look like it!

Could it be she looks youthful? Doesn’t show age easily?

But thinking it over, the Pokémon World is based on the real world, and overseas live streams have age requirements, needing to be at least 18 years old to broadcast.
