Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 391: Chapter 245: Planting Radishes (Part 2)

Naoki: ”...” He just knew it!

Whatever, Naoki shook his head and continued to flip through the contents below.

The following content is still related to Calyrex’s two mysterious horses.

”The carrots of the Crown Tundra have peculiar growth patterns. In the fields of deeply snow-covered lands, they grow into cool Iceroot Carrots, while in the fields beside graves, they grow into Shaderoot Carrots.”

”The legendary King of Bountiful Harvests’ horses are said to love eating these carrots. They supposedly can eat up to a hundred at a time, stopping only when their bellies are round and full.”

”A hundred...”

This is so exaggerated; aren’t they afraid of eating themselves into pigs? Naoki couldn’t help but snark.

But this is indeed very useful information.

Because these carrots will lure Spectrier and Glastrier to them.

Naoki began to formulate his next plan in his mind.

First, he needed to find carrot seeds, plant them in fertile soil, and then ask Calyrex to hasten their maturity.

Then, he could just sit back and wait for the two horses to come to him.

Having the information he needed, Naoki bid farewell to the village elder, then got up and left with Koraidon.

But getting carrot seeds was still a problem.

Walking along the snow-covered paths in the village, Naoki thought for a moment, then turned back to Riley’s house to inquire about the carrots from Riley’s wife.

”Carrots?” The village woman was slightly surprised as if she didn’t expect a tourist to ask about such things.

Naoki nodded: ”Yes, because I heard the carrots grown on the Crown Tundra are different from those elsewhere, so I became a bit curious.”

”Oh, that’s why!” The woman had a look of realization, then smiled brightly, saying: ”Carrot seeds can be bought from the village shop there. I happen to have a bag of unplanted seeds at home, and I’ll give them to you!”

As she spoke, the woman got up, took out a bag of seeds from the cabinet, and handed them over.

”Thank you so much!” Naoki’s eyes lit up.

The woman smiled, saying: ”These seeds are just ordinary carrot seeds, which you can buy in other cities. Only here in the Crown Tundra can they grow into Iceroot carrots, probably because it’s a snowy land?”

With the carrot seeds in hand, Naoki promptly rode Koraidon back to Calyrex’s side to share his discovery.

After listening, Calyrex reminisced: ”Indeed, as soon as they discover certain crops, they will gallop over, and I have to go to great lengths to make them behave. So, those things were carrots!”

Naoki nodded earnestly: ”Next, as long as we plant these carrots, once they grow, they can lure the unknown whereabouts of the two Horse-type Pokemon!”

Calyrex found that His little follower had truly considered His well-being.

His heart was touched, and even His authoritative voice softened:

”With fertile soil, cultivating crops is not a difficult task for Me. As long as there is a grain of seed, I can nurture it to maturity.”

”As for the snowfield of Mine, the soil suitable for planting crops...”

Calyrex closed His eyes, and His spiritual power instantly swept across the entire tundra.

A moment later, He reopened His eyes and continued: ”One place is the cold and clean snow-covered land’s field, another is the field beside the tombstones comforting the deceased... I shall go with you.”

”Of course!” Naoki was about to take the seeds and move on, but he thought for a moment and said to Calyrex: ”However, I have one more thing to do; please wait for me here for a while.”

Calyrex showed a slight trace of confusion in His eyes.

Then, He saw His little follower ride the red Pokemon back to the village.

About ten minutes later, the little follower returned with a hoe on his shoulder.

This was a hoe borrowed from Riley’s house. With the hoe on his shoulder, Naoki excitedly looked at Calyrex in front of him and said, ”Let’s go!”

If he guessed correctly, the two places Calyrex mentioned are Snowy Valley and Ancient Tomb.

In the game, players would plant carrots there to lure Spectrier and Glastrier.

But he was new here, unfamiliar with the place, so he needed Calyrex to help guide him.

Calyrex naturally had no objections.

Thanks to the assistance from His little follower, His power had recovered somewhat, no longer as weak as before.

Therefore, Calyrex looked elegantly at His little follower in front of Him, and lightly nodded.

His body then emitted a blue halo and levitated into the air.

The next moment, Naoki saw the surrounding scenery flash, and then he and Koraidon were taken by Calyrex via Teleport to an unfamiliar place.

This was a quiet valley surrounded by snowy mountains.

In this picturesque valley, some fields had been cultivated by someone.

Calyrex stood before a field, gazing at the soil below, and then slowly spoke:

”This field can grow Iceroot carrots... Although these are My old memories and now very blurred, I recall this was the favorite vegetable of the Ice-type beloved horse.”

Naoki stepped forward with a hoe, confidently patting his chest: ”Leave it to me from here!”
