Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 59: Chapter 48: Skiddo’s Explosive Debut (Part 2)

At that time, he should have been considering whether Skiddo was legal, rather than whether Skiddo would eat the feed.

Passersby might be so scared they’d wet themselves.

”It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay.”

Naoki repeated in his heart. For him, as long as Skiddo could continue to produce milk, that was enough.

Thinking of this, Naoki turned around.

But before he could take two steps, he heard a shout of exertion from Skiddo behind him.

He turned around abruptly and saw a Skiddo gathering a bright ball of light in its mouth.

The next second, that light transformed into a beam that shot out, instantly demolishing the newly constructed wooden fence.

Naoki: ”!!!”

Where the Solar Beam passed, not a blade of grass was left, leaving a clear burn mark on the ground, as if the hot sunlight had scorched the earth.

The Skiddos looked innocent.

Naoki took a deep breath and decided not to leave. He crossed his arms and watched them perform, saying with amusement:

”Go ahead! Let me see what other moves you haven’t used!”

”Baa...”

The Skiddos had a cute and clueless expression as if they had no idea what had happened.

What was up with that? How did they suddenly comprehend a new move?

Naoki helplessly said, ”At this rate, you could form a group and debut.”

One Skiddo used Grassy Terrain, another Skiddo acted cute to distract the opponent, and the last Skiddo used Solar Beam on the Grassy Terrain to attack.

The Skiddos didn’t understand what forming a group and debuting meant.

Naoki didn’t bother to explain further. He found an axe, saw, hammer, wooden planks, and nails from the storeroom and began to repair the fence that had been destroyed by Solar Beam.

Just after finishing the fence repairs, Dragonite finally returned late to the ranch.

It had a small red satchel around its waist and slowly landed beside Naoki.

Naoki quickly got up and asked, ”How did it go?”

”Roar...” Dragonite seemed a bit disappointed; it hadn’t learned any new moves.

But it had successfully delivered the goat milk!

Dragonite took out the money Mrs. Dantes paid from its satchel and handed it to Naoki.

Naoki reached out to take it, feeling a bit soft-hearted at Dragonite’s pitiful appearance.

But the meal that could help Dragonite grow stronger hadn’t been prepared yet...

After pondering for a moment, Naoki asked, ”Can you show me the moves you currently know?”

A demonstration? Dragonite thought blankly for a moment, then began to demonstrate.

It flew high into the air, spread its wings wide, and dove toward the ground.

”This should be the Flying Type’s Wing Attack,” Naoki thought.

The second move, Dragonite opened its eyes wide, and its gaze turned sharp.

”Leer?” Naoki raised an eyebrow.

This is a move that frightens opponents with its gaze, thereby lowering their defense.

But with Dragonite’s cute and round appearance, it lacked any intimidation. At least Naoki and Koraidon didn’t feel scared; instead, they found it adorable, almost melting from the cuteness.

The third move, Dragonite whipped up a Twister on the grass, but the Twister wasn’t very large in scale.

”This move should be Twister.”

The fourth move, Dragonite opened its mouth and unleashed a purple shockwave forward.

”Dragon Rage,” Naoki thought to himself.

He stood there watching, but Dragonite didn’t continue.

Naoki was slightly taken aback: ”That’s it?”

Dragonite lowered its head, crestfallen: ”Roar...”

Well, it seemed this Dragonite’s intuition wasn’t that high.

Naoki took a deep breath, pondering in his heart how he could help a Pokemon grasp moves if he were a trainer.

Scenes flashed through Naoki’s mind: Ash teaching Dragonite Dragon Dance, Greninja teaching Lucario, Mrs. Wilma in the Sinnoh Region teaching various Pokemon Draco Meteor.

Most of Pokemon’s moves are about mastering the energy within their bodies, transforming it into beams, hurricanes, shock waves, bubbles, and other forms to project it outward.

That’s right; it’s about energy control.

Koraidon is also a Dragon Type Pokemon; although he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, the Dragon Type moves it mastered should be quite a few.

Draco Meteor and Outrage are quite challenging for Dragonite; comparatively, Dragon Tail is much simpler.

After pondering for a moment, Naoki looked at Koraidon beside him and asked, ”Koraidon, can you use Dragon Tail?”

”Garrr!” Koraidon nodded.

Naoki’s eyes lit up: ”Then can you teach Dragonite?”

Koraidon was a bit hesitant; it knew how to use it but hadn’t taught anyone before.

Seeing this, Naoki said, ”It’s okay, just demonstrate it for him.” He would explain it.

That shouldn’t be a problem, thought Koraidon.

So, Naoki looked at Dragonite and said, ”We’re not in a rush for deliveries now; I have another move to teach you.”

Upon hearing this, Dragonite’s eyes lit up: ”Roar?”

Naoki set aside the fence repair work and led Koraidon and Dragonite to an open area.

”Watch Koraidon’s demonstration carefully, Dragonite!” Naoki shouted.

On the open ground, Koraidon was already prepared.

In its battle form, its thick tail was enveloped in a layer of purple light.

The next moment, Koraidon spun its body, and that strong, flexible tail swept forward.

The surrounding airflow was stirred, bending the grass on the ground in a messy fashion.

Dragonite focused intently while watching.

After the move ended, Koraidon stepped aside.

Naoki said to Dragonite: ”Want to give it a try?”

”Roar...”

Dragonite hesitantly stepped forward, attempting to imitate Koraidon’s tail-whipping motion but failed to use it successfully.

This made Dragonite feel very disheartened.

Naoki stood to the side with his arms crossed, comparing the state of the two Pokemon while using the move in his mind, then said: ”Can you mobilize the Dragon Type energy in your body?”

”Roar?” Dragonite blinked its eyes, then nodded.

”Dragon Tail isn’t just about swinging your tail; Koraidon’s Dragon Tail also has a copious amount of Dragon Type energy covering it,” Naoki explained. ”So, you can try to concentrate the Dragon Type energy onto your tail, then whip it.”

Dragonite listened, seemingly understanding yet not fully comprehending.

Concentrate the Dragon Type energy onto the tail...

Dragonite tried again, but still failed.

This made it feel somewhat dejected.

Seeing this, Naoki encouraged, ”Don’t lose heart; you need perseverance and determination. Remember what I told you before?”

Dragonite lifted its head: ”Roar...”

Naoki continued, ”No Dragonite’s move is learned in one go. Since you can’t use Dragon Tail now, we’ll take it step by step.”

”Break down the entire move, start by practicing mobilizing the energy within your body, gathering it to your tail, and once you’re proficient, practice the next step. I see that you can mobilize energy, and with diligent practice, you’ll definitely be able to use Dragon Tail successfully.”

Under Naoki’s encouragement, Dragonite’s fighting spirit was reignited: ”Roar!”

It stood still, focusing its mind and began to mobilize the Dragon Type energy within.

Naoki watched for a while, then said to Koraidon: ”Stay here and keep it company while practicing; there’s something I need to do.”

”Garrr!” Koraidon nodded its big head in agreement.

Naoki then turned around and headed toward the wooden cabin.

In front of the cabin, Cyclizar was lounging under the eaves, which had almost become its exclusive spot.

Upon seeing Naoki approaching, Cyclizar stood up with a soft cry.

Naoki patted Cyclizar’s head, and Cyclizar followed him into the room.

The two of them came to the kitchen area. Naoki looked at the table full of prepared ingredients and seasonings, feeling bewildered.

After a bit of thought, he asked Cyclizar next to him:

”Cyclizar, is there any food you particularly love to eat? The kind you really enjoy.”

Cyclizar, like Dragonite, is also a Dragon Type Pokemon, so its preferences might provide valuable insights.
