Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 57: Chapter 47: Deliveryman

Seeing this scene, Naoki breathed a sigh of relief.

Man and dragon arrived in the town, and Naoki found Blue Sea Street by following the directions on the road signs.

This was a residential area located in the northeastern corner of the town. The nearby houses were typical Japanese-style architecture, neatly situated along the road, surrounded by artificially planted flowers and plants.

The road was very clean, and along with its distance from the market area, the environment nearby was very quiet.

”Number 308...”

Naoki and Dragonite made a round in the vicinity and finally found No. 308 at a fork in the road.

He walked into the courtyard filled with flowers and plants and knocked on the door: ”Excuse me, is Mrs. Dantes in?”

After waiting for a while, no one came to the door.

Naoki suspected that the other party might have gone out.

”This address should be correct.” He looked at the note in his hand, confirmed the house number, and didn’t wait there any longer.

Instead, he turned around and said to Dragonite, ”This is the place, can you remember the route?”

Dragonite nodded its head: ”Oowoo!”

Naoki: ”Very good.”

He nodded in satisfaction, and since it was getting late, he left the place with Dragonite.

However, Naoki did not immediately return to the ranch but went to the town’s grocery store and bought a small red satchel.

He equipped Dragonite with the satchel, and suddenly, a Dragonite with a red satchel in a deliveryman image appeared in front of him.

”Not bad at all.”

Naoki nodded in satisfaction; after circling Dragonite twice, he rode on it and returned to the ranch.

The next day.

Naoki got up early to prepare breakfast for several Pokémon.

After eating, he placed two bottles of prepared goat’s milk into the red satchel that Dragonite was carrying.

”Do you still remember the route?” Naoki asked.

Dragonite looked at the two bottles of milky white goat’s milk and innocently nodded: ”Oowoo.”

Naoki: ”Then let’s set off! Deliver these two bottles of goat’s milk to the owner of that house!”

After giving the instructions, Dragonite flew into the sky with the goat’s milk, heading towards the town.

Naoki watched its back and thought to himself that he couldn’t fool Dragonite forever. After all, Dragonite is a very smart Pokémon, and if it found out it had been deceived, it would probably be very angry.

So Naoki turned back to the wooden cabin and secretly started preparing dishes that could help Dragonite get stronger and learn moves.

Now, the question was.

What kind of dish could have this effect? Naoki fell into thought.

---

Porto Marinada Town, Blue Sea Street, Number 308.

Boji Dantes got up early to help her seriously ill bedridden husband with his daily washing routine.

The old man on the bed had gray hair, a thin body, and looked very frail.

Seeing the old man’s face looking unwell, Boji Dantes comforted, ”I’ve found a ranch with goat milk. Don’t worry, everything will get better.”

The old man coughed twice, took a deep breath, and with a moving expression said, ”You’ve worked hard all these years.”

Boji Dantes gently shook her head, ”Don’t talk about hardships or not...”

She wanted to say more but suddenly heard a knock on the door from outside.

Boji Dantes’ eyes lit up, and she said to her husband, ”It must be the person delivering the goat milk!”

She quickly got up to open the door, and as the door opened, a Dragonite about two meters tall, with a round body carrying a small red satchel, appeared in front of her.

Boji Dantes was stunned on the spot.

Dragonite stood at the door, looking at the elderly woman with its big, bright black eyes.

Remembering Naoki’s instructions, it took out two bottles of goat milk from the satchel with its large claw and handed them over, ”Oowoo!”

It was only then that Boji Dantes came back to her senses.

She was shocked as she looked at Dragonite in front of her, trembling as she said, ”Did you come from Naoki Ranch to deliver goat milk?”

”Oowoo~” Dragonite nodded lightly.

Boji Dantes couldn’t believe her eyes.

My God! Someone is using a Dragonite to deliver milk!

That is an extremely rare Pokémon!

Normally, people use Pelipper as delivery personnel.

This is too extravagant!

The word ”extravagant” was all that remained in Boji Dantes’ mind.

She dazedly took the goat milk from Dragonite’s claw, and as she watched Dragonite about to turn and fly away, she finally came to her senses and shouted, ”Wait a minute!”

Dragonite turned its head in puzzlement: ”Oowoo?”

”You haven’t been paid yet!” Boji Dantes took out the prepared deposit from her pocket.

She originally intended to place it in Dragonite’s claw, but recalling how it was about to fly off without waiting for money, she placed the money in its red satchel and carefully zipped it up.

”Make sure you keep the money safe!”

”Oowoo...”

Dragonite then remembered it seemed to have forgotten about this matter.

Just on the way over, it was thinking about the things Naoki said, observing the flowers and trees along the road, wanting to become stronger through them.

Nonetheless, since the delivery was made, it was time to leave.

Dragonite turned around, soared into the sky, and started heading back to the ranch.

Until Dragonite’s figure disappeared from sight, Boji Dantes turned and went back inside to tell her husband about it.

”It was really surprising, the newly reopened Naoki Ranch actually sent a Dragonite to deliver milk!”

The old man lying on the bed showed a surprised expression upon hearing this.

When they were young, both were trainers traveling around, and naturally knew how rare a Pokémon Dragonite was.

They’re mighty, adorable in appearance, good-natured, capable of carrying a trainer into the sky, crossing mountains and seas.

Decades ago, there was even a Dragonite craze in the Paldea Region.

Countless people wanted to capture a Dragonite, but due to its rarity, even traveling throughout the Paldea Region, it was hard to encounter one.

And now, this kind of Pokémon is used to deliver milk!

”If those trainers knew about this, they’d be green with envy,” the old man said with a look of envy.

Even though he was old and not young anymore, deep down inside, he still held the original dreams of a trainer.

He encountered his Pokémon partner and also met a girl who was also a trainer during his travels.

That girl is now his wife.

”Alright, I should go prepare breakfast.” Boji Dantes stood up, a faint smile on her face, and she said with hope, ”After having this herbal meal, your body will get better.”

Meanwhile, at the ranch.

Naoki and Keri stood in front of a newly constructed building.

Keri: ”The Salt House is finished; you should go in and take a look!”

Naoki nodded. Just as he was developing a new dish, Keri called him out to inspect the Salt House, so he paused what he was doing to come over and check.

The exterior of the Salt House was distinct from the Chicken House.

The Chicken House had an entirely wooden structure, whereas the Salt House was built with stone and cement.

The interior design simulated a cave environment, with some stones serving as decorations in the corners.

Upon entering, Naoki immediately noticed a layer of transparent film on the ground that looked like plastic but felt somewhat hard to the touch.

Keri explained, ”This is storage film. When the Naclis move around in here, the rock salt that falls off their bodies from friction will be collected on it. All you have to do is remove the storage film to get a bunch of rock salt.”

Naoki nodded, indicating he understood.

Keri smiled slightly and continued, ”Now I will go build the sheep pen for you, and during this time, you can bring the Naclis here to familiarize them with the environment.”
