Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

Chapter 994: Chapter 0994: Biological Active Enzymes

Hu Baoguo knew that Li Erniu, that simple-minded fellow, would never deceive him; since Li Erniu was enjoying the drink so much, it must be really delicious!

Hu Baoguo took a sip with caution, the initial foul taste almost made him spit the beverage right out.

But quickly, the foul taste vanished, turning incredibly sweet!

Hu Baoguo’s eyes moistened in an instant! It was this flavor! It was this very flavor! He remembered his father telling him about this taste!

With a gulp, Hu Baoguo swallowed the drink down!

Hu Baoguo wept uncontrollably, “Father! You were right! Our family’s secret recipe is indeed an ancient secret recipe! It can indeed brew a very delicious health beverage!

I should not have doubted you, I should not have blamed you!”

After crying for a good while, Hu Baoguo looked up at Qin Yu and bowed deeply, “Xiao Qin, thank you! Thank you for bringing our family’s ancestral secret recipe back to light!”

“Uncle Hu, don’t get too excited yet, although the recipe is not flawed, there is still a small imperfection!

We dared to drink it because we know it will taste sweet after a while, but ordinary consumers don’t know this—after smelling such foul odor, they definitely won’t drink it.

Therefore, we must find out the reason for the drink smelling foul and then turning sweet.”

Qin Yu analyzed the situation calmly.

“Yes, yes, right, I got too excited too early!” Qin Yu’s words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing Hu Baoguo’s excitement.

Yes, with such a stench, who would dare to drink it?

“If we just let the ancient recipe go to waste because of this tiny flaw, that would be such a pity!” Li Erniu’s face was full of regret, reminiscing the taste he just experienced.

Qin Yu studied the prescription’s medicinal properties and pharmacology again, but after a while, he found no chemical reactions that could generate a foul odor!

The recipe seemed to be without any issues; where exactly was the problem?

Seeing Qin Yu studying the recipe, Hu Baoguo shook his head with a wry smile, “Xiao Qin, stop your investigation. I’ve studied this recipe for over a decade, and I am very clear—it shouldn’t cause any chemical reactions!

Plus, I used hot water, which makes a chemical reaction even less likely.”

Hot water? Qin Yu had a flash of insight. He grabbed the sheepskin scroll from the table, and his eyes brightly scrutinized it. Even though it was written in Ancient Times script, Qin Yu could understand it!

As Qin Yu studied it closely, he soon became excited. So that’s it! So that is the reason! Qin Yu spoke solemnly, “Uncle Hu, I know the reason!”

“What reason?” Hu Baoguo’s spirit was lifted!

“The water quality is different! In ancient times, the water was not polluted! But now, due to various industrial pollutants and the effects of smog, the water quality has become very poor!

It must be some substance in the water reacting chemically with the herbal juice!”

“If a substance in the water reacts chemically with a substance in the herbal juice, why does it become sweet when held in our mouths?” Gu Baoguo asked, full of skepticism.

“Uncle Hu, it seems you’re not great with chemistry, saliva contains a variety of bioactive enzymes, it must be one of those bioactive enzymes that is breaking down the foul-smelling substance.”

“That seems to make sense! If that’s the case, as long as we use distilled water to make the beverage, we can avoid creating the foul-smelling substance!” Li Erniu’s eyes were shining with hope. If the beverage factory could revive from the brink, he wouldn’t have to worry about unemployment!
