Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1496: Chapter 24: Blitz (7)_2

”Commander.”

”Major Ann Lei, what’s the matter?” Chen Fengxi nodded at Ann Lei.

Chen Fengxi greatly admired this bandit army Major, who was charming in appearance and possessed an exceptionally keen ability for intelligence judgment and processing.

Sometimes, Chen Fengxi couldn’t help but feel a tinge of jealousy.

Throughout the bandit army, there was an entire team of genius monsters. Not to mention their plump officer, Margaret, who was regarded as Hastings’ successor, or the little boy who, at just three years old, had electronic engineers bowing down in admiration. Just focusing on Colonel Ann’s display of intelligence ability alone made him eager to recruit her.

Perhaps she couldn’t be considered a peerless genius, but her eternally calm and unflustered gentle demeanor, coupled with her sharp intuition about intelligence, made her vastly superior in intelligence processing. Under her leadership, the command’s intelligence processing efficiency was incredibly high, and the operations staff, once they received the intelligence processed by her, could achieve greater results with less effort.

In just a few hours, several intelligence teams and experienced liaison officers of the Front Command became this young and beautiful girl’s most loyal followers, willingly submitting to her leadership.

Her gentleness and composure affected the entire intelligence unit, making everyone feel as calm as Peace Lake.

”This is the battlefield situation prediction diagram we just completed based on SkyNet information,” Ann Lei announced after obtaining Chen Fengxi’s consent, displaying a document on his command computer, ”Please review it.”

Chen Fengxi’s attention was quickly drawn to the prediction diagram Ann Lei displayed. Moments later, he solemnly instructed the staff officer beside him, ”Submit it for operational validation.”

The staff officer departed with his orders. Chen Fengxi paced a few steps with his hands behind his back, exchanging a glance with Pierre, and both couldn’t help but reveal a slight bitter smile. They knew that, like themselves, in the brief moments of reviewing the diagram, their backs had already been soaked in cold sweat.

Although Ann Lei’s battlefield situation prediction had just been unveiled and hadn’t had the chance to undergo operational validation, with their rich experience, Chen Fengxi and Pierre could instantly discern the prediction’s accuracy. The areas marked as dangerous red zones on the diagram and the Western Alliance’s attack arrows, biting at the defensive line like piranhas, spanning thousands of kilometers, had already been accurately forecasted in Fatty’s simulations.

The situation on the western line of Phoenix City had long deteriorated to such an extent. From the Southern Combat Zone to the Northern Battle Zone, the powerful Western Alliance Army had shredded the defensive line to tatters. Perhaps even now, they thought the western line of Phoenix City could hold for two or three more weeks.

In reality, even without Bellif’s final strike, the western line of Phoenix City wouldn’t last a week!

Bellif initiated the Sunset Mountain offensive, not so much because he was rushing to capture the Phoenix City western line before the Fei Alliance’s third reinforcements, but rather because he intended to annihilate the Fei Alliance Joint Army’s defensive force directly on the Phoenix City western line. To ensure that, after the breakthrough, his forces wouldn’t give the Fei Alliance Joint Army any chance to resist, sweeping across the entire Leifeng Star with unstoppable momentum!

If it weren’t for the bandit army’s arrival, if it weren’t for Admiral Tian Xingjian seeing through Bellif’s strategy using only limited information in the first instance and formulating a plan relying on the bandit army as the main force, everything would have been irretrievable.

Only then, amidst their retrospection, did Chen Fengxi and Pierre realize how correct they had been in agreeing to Fatty’s plan.

”Damn Bellif!” Chen Fengxi cursed vehemently, striding towards the main operational simulation sand table in the hall.

The massive electronic sand table, measuring a hundred and fifty square meters, resembled a miniature world. The undulating mountains, varying weather conditions across regions, and the moving troops, with each hill along the winding defensive line, mirrored exactly what SkyNet could grasp in reality.

Over a dozen Chuckna high-ranking staff officers and bandit army commanders stood before the sand table, continuously manipulating electronic control rods. Margaret stood silently at the position nearest to Frenso Town on the sand table, her eyes firmly fixed on the red arrow extending northward from Frenso Town, motionless.

Chen Fengxi glanced at the time, his heartbeat unconsciously accelerating.

The red arrow and virtual units on the electronic screen had been stationed for a while at the first battle zone northwest of Frenso Town, the Saint John Town Zone.

As time inexorably ticked away, Chen Fengxi turned his gaze towards Sunset Mountain.

There, the troops had already assembled, and it was about time for the repeatedly thwarted Western Alliance to deploy their final trump card.

Whether Sunset Mountain could buy enough time, and whether the bandit army could complete their encirclement in time, these two questions clawed at his heart like a cat’s paw.

”Commander. Latest battle report from Sunset Mountain.”

Ann Lei’s voice echoed in his ears again. This voice made everyone around the electronic sand table abruptly lift their heads. Although within a minute, this intelligence would automatically update on the electronic sand table, everyone still immediately looked towards Ann Lei.

Chen Fengxi received an already opened electronic folder from Ann Lei.

”The Judgers have been deployed,” Ann Lei’s tone was unusually grave, ”In half an hour, our positions at Sunset Mountain have consecutively suffered attacks from Judger squads, resulting in the destruction of an artillery camp and a supply transfer point, and casualties of nearly twelve hundred warriors across four defensive sections.”
