Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing had pushed the Corpse Ghost Dragon to its final position and felt that the time was ripe. He took a deep breath, and the enchanting beauty of a rare woman flashed through his mind once more, before slowly channeling the Power of Dragon Elephant into the Buddha’s Relic.

As Ye Qing’s power infused the relic, the golden light emitted by the Buddha’s Relic intensified greatly, and the image of the Buddha sitting in the air above became increasingly clear. Moreover, a majestic force was evidently rising within the relic, as if awakening an ancient Buddha, the immense power making the entire gorge appear exceedingly cramped.

At this moment, the winds were calm, and all around was silent. The gorge, originally a wind passage, now seemed to have halted all its winds. The Buddha’s image sat cross-legged in midair, though faintly visible, seeming like a mirage illusion. Yet everyone could feel the formidable power emanating from the Buddha.

What kind of power was this?

Simply put, everyone, whether it be those Peak Masters behind or the Corpse Ghost Dragon standing before Ye Qing, faced with this power, felt a tremor within them, an urge to worship. It was an oppression, an absolute suppression of power from which no one could escape.

Golden light flashed, illuminating the valley as if it were daytime. Wherever the golden light touched, the human realm fell silent, and everything ceased. At this moment, between heaven and earth, nothing else seemed to exist, as if only this golden light remained.

This was a pure power, but under the pressure of such power, none present felt insignificant or fearful; instead, there was an inexplicable sense of peace and harmony.

The Buddha’s Relic contained myriad divine mysteries of Buddhism. Buddhist Power was universal; who in the world would not bow before it?

Outside the gorge, those waiting began to take notice of the unusual situation within. The rising golden light surprised everyone outside the gorge, leaving them wondering what was unfolding inside. Standing mostly at a distance, they had not seen the Buddha’s image above the relic, but they could feel the oppressive force of the Buddhist power.

Those nearer the gorge had already instinctively bowed to the ground. As for those further away, although not yet overwhelmed by the feeling, they were entranced.

”Ah!” At that moment, someone standing beside Luan Ping suddenly screamed, black gas emanating from their body as they collapsed to the ground, twitching twice before ceasing all movement.

Seeing this, Luan Ping was startled. He was powerful and stood furthest away, thus not lost in the entrancement under this oppression.

Seeing the person beside him collapse, Luan Ping’s face changed dramatically. This was none other than the Peak Master previously slain by the Bloody Monk. After dying, the body had been turned into a corpse for necromancy by the Corpse Ghost Dragon, intended to be used against others. Unexpectedly, under the golden light, this corpse was the first to fall.

Luan Ping quickly retreated further, mistakenly believing the golden light had lethal power. Little did he know, the golden light had no effect on him and would only destroy that corpse. Since the corpse was awakened by sorcery summoned by the Corpse Ghost Dragon, how could such filth endure under the Buddhist light?

Shakyamuni originally stood atop the massive rock at the gorge’s mouth, closest and highest up, thus clearly seeing the Buddha’s image. At this moment, Shakyamuni no longer had his previous wretched appearance but sat cross-legged, with dignity, emanating waves of golden light that resonated with the Buddha’s. Crucially, Shakyamuni’s form and sitting posture bore absolute resemblance to the Buddha, so much so that the Buddha’s image looked like Shakyamuni’s projection.

Wuhua Monk, on the other hand, did not react like Shakyamuni. He sat silently on another massive rock, watching the Buddha in the gorge, softly murmuring sutras. The golden light halted around him, unable to illuminate him. He seemed like a black hole, swallowing everything, even the golden light that reached him was absorbed, unable to envelop him.

Within the gorge, Ye Qing held the Buddha’s Relic high, as the power inside gradually awakened. The Buddha sat in the air, the sound of Buddhist chants echoed throughout the gorge. Beneath the Buddha, Ye Qing’s face twisted grotesquely, as if enduring immense pain.

The power within the Buddha’s Relic was awakened, but it was also flooding into his body. Despite Ye Qing’s extensive preparation, enhancing his physical endurance to its peak, once this power entered, he realized just how terrifying it truly was. As the immense power entered his body, it shattered his meridians like a destructive force, with no resistance.

”Ah!” Ye Qing let out a beast-like roar, looking at the trembling Corpse Ghost Dragon before him. He suddenly screamed, his whole body like a flash of light, directly charging at the Corpse Ghost Dragon. A heavy punch landed right on the Corpse Ghost Dragon.

From a distance, everyone saw Ye Qing strike; seeing Ye Qing’s punch land on the Corpse Ghost Dragon, everyone was overjoyed, cheering loudly.

The power of Buddha’s Relic had been awakened, and this full-force strike hit the Corpse Ghost Dragon precisely, surely it was bound to die!

”We won! We won, we won!” Ding Lianshun shouted excitedly; at this moment, even these Peak Masters could no longer remain calm.

Others were somewhat calmer than Ding Lianshun, their eyes fixed on the site. Until they saw the Corpse Ghost Dragon fall dead, none dared celebrate too soon.

Indeed, as Ye Qing’s fist struck the Corpse Ghost Dragon, its face contorted, and finally, its body imploded like a bubble. Instead of shattering into flesh fragments, it dissolved as if utterly pulverized, scattered into the air, leaving nothing behind.

Upon seeing this situation, everyone finally cheered.

”Ye Qing, you did it!” Shen Tianjun shouted excitedly towards Ye Qing, overjoyed.

”Finally killed this old monster!” Helian Tiehua clasped his hands behind his back, also extremely ecstatic.

”It was worth the journey after all!” The Bloody Monk nodded slowly, and the others were equally thrilled and excited.

Ye Qing stood still, not responding to everyone’s words. The Buddha’s Relic in his hand was gradually dimming, and his body slowly fell to the ground.

”Ye Qing, what’s wrong with you?” Shen Tianjun hurriedly asked. The others also rushed over, anxiously looking at Ye Qing.

However, just as everyone had run not far, a chilling laugh suddenly emanated from behind the boulder where Ye Qing was: ”Hahahahaha...”

Hearing this sound, everyone’s faces changed, and they stopped in unison, looking toward the direction the sound came from. There, in the suspended part of the boulder, stood a short black figure. Upon closer inspection, wasn’t this the Corpse Ghost Dragon?

What is going on? Wasn’t the Corpse Ghost Dragon just smashed to pieces by a punch from Ye Qing? So why is he appearing on this boulder? And he seems to be completely unharmed?

”Shakyamuni’s Left Hand, the power is indeed extraordinary!” Corpse Ghost Dragon jumped down from the boulder, standing directly beside Ye Qing, sneering, ”Had that punch truly hit me, my life would indeed have been finished. It’s a shame, you were too foolish. I tricked you with a False Body into using all your strength. With just this little skill, what qualifies you to fight against me?”

Upon hearing these words, everyone here changed color again, finally understanding what had happened. It turned out that the figure earlier was just a False Body of the Corpse Ghost Dragon, not his real body. No wonder that deadly blow from Ye Qing did not make the Corpse Ghost Dragon dodge or resist, and the body was directly smashed to pieces; it was merely a False Body!

”Corpse Ghost Dragon, you’re so despicable!” Shen Tianjun roared in anger.

”Despicable?” The Corpse Ghost Dragon cast a cold glance at everyone, saying in a deep voice, ”You colluded with Luan Ping, trying to use this Buddha’s Relic to kill me. Aren’t you despicable? Luckily, I had a life-saving technique, or else I would have died tonight.”

Corpse Ghost Dragon sneered again and said, ”However, I’m not dead, and next, you all will be. Hmph, I guessed correctly. Although the power of Shakyamuni’s Left Hand is strong, the backlash is equally strong. Ye Qing, after using this move, it is impossible for him to stand up again. Without this Buddha’s Relic, you are like ants to me!”

With that, the Corpse Ghost Dragon raised his head and laughed again, ”Hahaha, there’s an old saying in Huaxia, that those who laugh last truly deserve to laugh. Now, I’m going to show you who really deserves to laugh!”

The Corpse Ghost Dragon, saying this, clasped his hands again, channeling strong power, ready to unleash his ultimate move again.

”You’re right, those who laugh last truly deserve to laugh!”

At this moment, a chilling voice suddenly came from the feet of the Corpse Ghost Dragon.

The Corpse Ghost Dragon’s expression changed, and he quickly retreated several steps. Upon careful inspection, Ye Qing, who had previously closed his eyes on the ground, had somehow opened his eyes again. Moreover, he stood up slowly, seemingly without any injuries!

”You... you...” The Corpse Ghost Dragon pointed at Ye Qing, stumbling over his words in shock.

Not only the Corpse Ghost Dragon, but also Shen Tianjun and the others were greatly shocked to see Ye Qing stand up again. They had just watched Ye Qing fall, and they knew how strong the backlash of the Buddha’s Relic’s power was. But why now does Ye Qing seem unharmed, standing up as if nothing had happened?

”Those who laugh last truly deserve to laugh!” Ye Qing looked calmly at the Corpse Ghost Dragon, saying coldly, ”Too bad, you’re not the one who laughs last.”

The Corpse Ghost Dragon regained some composure, trembling as he pointed at Ye Qing, saying, ”You... how are you... not hurt? Impossible! Impossible! I felt the power of the Buddha’s Relic; not just you, even I couldn’t withstand it. You bore such immense power, how could... you possibly not be dead?”
