Handsome Fatty Wang had just walked out with Nine-Fingers Wu Yong when they were surrounded by Wu Yong’s men. Fortunately, Ye Qing had told him to bring Wu Yong out, and by holding Wu Yong hostage, he managed to confront these people for a while. Otherwise, he probably would have been caught by now.

Ye Qing arrived and startled the people nearby who were itching to act. These people were all surrounding Handsome Fatty Wang, looking for a chance to take him down and rescue Wu Yong. With Ye Qing’s arrival, they naturally didn’t dare to make a move.

Handsome Fatty Wang was using Wu Yong to intimidate these people, but he was quite anxious inside. If they all rushed him at once, even if he killed Wu Yong, he’d still be done for. But with Ye Qing here now, the situation changed. Nobody dared to step forward with Ye Qing present.

Handsome Fatty Wang immediately pushed Wu Yong aside, waved his dagger, and yelled, ”How about that? I told you, Young Ye would definitely come to help me. You bunch of bastards, still daring to act cocky? Come on, now, who was it that just shouted about challenging Fat Lord to a duel? Come over here, Fat Lord will give you a fair chance for a duel, one-on-one.”

No one dared to step forward, everyone just stared at Ye Qing. Only someone out of their mind would go fight Handsome Fatty Wang now.

Seeing Ye Qing, Nine-Fingers Wu Yong was also a bit panicked. He hadn’t expected Ye Qing to come back. He had already contacted Shen Qianyue, planning for Qianyue to ambush Ye Qing. Yet here Ye Qing was, alive and well, meaning even Shen Qianyue couldn’t kill Ye Qing?

This was truly bad. He had hoped Shen Qianyue would kill Ye Qing, and then he could seize the chance to escape. But with Ye Qing alive and here, there was no chance for him to escape now.

Ye Qing walked over, ignoring Wu Yong’s men. Wu Yong’s men had already begun retreating quietly; none dared to linger. A moment ago, they could have beaten Handsome Fatty Wang to rescue Wu Yong. With Ye Qing present, the situation was different. They weren’t willing to risk their lives for Wu Yong.

”All of you, stand still!” At this moment, Wen’er emerged from behind, shouting fiercely, making Wu Yong’s men shiver. They turned in surprise to look at Wen’er, unsure where she had come from, and puzzled about her relationship with Ye Qing, leaving them unsure of what to do.

”Who’s this little girl?” Handsome Fatty Wang shouted.

”The daughter of the Headmaster of the Southern Ridge Sect, my savior,” Ye Qing summed up Wen’er’s identity in one sentence.

Upon hearing that Wen’er was Ye Qing’s savior, Wu Yong’s men instantly became obedient. Angering Wen’er would surely mean Ye Qing wouldn’t spare them.

”I ask you...” Wen’er approached Wu Yong’s men and asked in a stern voice, ”Did any of you see where my father and uncles went just now?”

The group looked at each other in surprise, then one asked in a low voice, ”Who... who?”

”My father and uncles...” Wen’er glared, ”The Sect Masters of the Southern Ridge Sect!”

The group exchanged bewildered looks; they had heard of the South Ridge Sect but had never seen the Sect Masters.

”Did you see anyone pass by here just now?” Ye Qing walked up and asked sternly.

Ye Qing’s question was much clearer. The group quickly shook their heads and said, ”No.”

”You haven’t seen anyone this whole time?” Wen’er asked anxiously.

”Little girl, you could just ask me these things.” Handsome Fatty Wang walked up from behind and said, ”To tell you the truth, since we got here, we haven’t seen any outsiders. You two are the first we’ve met. We never saw the Sect Masters you mentioned.”

”How could this be?” Wen’er’s face changed, her mood sinking again. She had hoped to get information about her father’s whereabouts from these people, but she found nothing, causing her to worry once more.

”It seems the Grand Sect Master and the others must have already left,” Ye Qing comforted in a low voice. ”With Shen Qianyue and those Skeletons here, they surely wouldn’t stay. After settling us in, they must have left. Maybe when we return, they’ll come to find you.”

”They can’t just leave me here alone.” Wen’er said in a deep voice, ”I have a bad feeling, surely something… something must have happened to Dad and them...”

At this point, the girl couldn’t help but sob softly again. Standing next to her, Ye Qing sighed quietly and said in a low voice, ”No bodies found means they aren’t dead yet. You don’t have to worry too much; even if the Corpse Ghost Dragon has taken them, as long as they’re alive, there’s a chance to rescue them. Why don’t we head to Shenchuan City first? If they’ve escaped, they’ll surely try to find you. And if they were indeed taken by the Corpse Ghost Dragon, I will help you rescue them!”

Wen’er glanced at Ye Qing. Although she initially held some hostility towards him, hearing these words made her feel a bit more trust towards Ye Qing in her heart.

”Alright then.” Wen’er sighed softly, turned to look at the Stone Mountain behind her, and said quietly, ”Let’s head to Shenchuan City first.”

Upon hearing their conversation, Handsome Fatty Wang immediately shouted from behind, ”What about this old turtle egg?”

The ”old turtle egg” Handsome Fatty Wang referred to was none other than Nine-Fingers Wu Yong, whom he was still holding hostage.

”Let’s take him to Shenchuan City as well.” Ye Qing glanced at Nine-Fingers Wu Yong and said solemnly, ”He probably knows quite a few secrets about the Wanyan family. This trip back is a perfect chance to get those secrets out of him.”

”That’s just perfect.” Handsome Fatty Wang immediately got excited, ”This old guy, Fat Lord has been wanting to teach him a lesson. Just to be clear, once we’re in Shenchuan City, the interrogation is up to me, and no one is allowed to steal it from me!”

Seeing Handsome Fatty Wang like this, it was obvious he was looking for an opportunity to give Nine-Fingers Wu Yong a hard time. Ye Qing was speechless for a moment but said nothing, leading Wen’er and Handsome Fatty Wang down the mountain to find a car to head to the city.

Helian Tiehua had been paying attention to these matters all along. He also arranged for his private jet to be ready to pick up Ye Qing at any time. Ye Qing just needed to reach the city, find an airport, and Helian Tiehua would send his private jet to take them to Shenchuan City, making it very convenient.

As for the subordinates of Nine-Fingers Wu Yong, Ye Qing did not trouble them. Earlier, when entering the tomb, Ye Qing had already seen that these people were just tomb robbers. So Ye Qing only took Nine-Fingers Wu Yong and did not take them along.

Of course, these subordinates also dared not follow Ye Qing and others. Being let go by Ye Qing was already a great relief for them, and naturally, they dared not show up again under Ye Qing’s nose. If caught by Ye Qing once more, they would be in real trouble. Watching Ye Qing leave, they all turned and ran up the mountain, preferring a different route rather than meeting Ye Qing and his group again.

Meanwhile, behind a rock face nearby, more than a dozen people were hiding under a large protruding rock. This rock jutted out so far that it almost formed a cave, and these people were hiding beneath it.

A few people were lying on the ground beside them, none other than the Eight Great Sect Masters of the South Ridge Sect who were previously taken away. However, they were all unconscious now and had not heard Wen’er calling them earlier.

Leading the group were two elderly men; one appeared to be in his late eighties or early nineties, and the other looked around fifty or sixty, whose appearance bore some resemblance to Prince Wan Yan, suggesting they were members of the Wanyan Family.

Seeing Ye Qing and his group leave with Nine-Fingers Wu Yong, the slightly younger elder said softly, ”Third Uncle, they’re taking Uncle Jiu. Shouldn’t we stop them?”

”Why stop them?” Third Uncle glanced at the elder and said, ”Old Ninth Wan Yan belonged to a branch of the Wanyan family, sent out to gather assets for the family. He was always resentful, feeling that the elder brother controlling the Wanyan family caused these branches to have no status in the family. Though not part of the imperial family, he wanted to control Wanyan family’s power, arrogantly disregarding us legitimate heirs. What’s the use in keeping someone like that?”

”But...” The elder hesitated slightly and said in a low voice, ”Third Uncle, I know Uncle Jiu has always voiced grievances against us, but he’s still part of the Wanyan family and knows many of our secrets. If those people in Shenchuan City force it out of him, wouldn’t our secrets become known to outsiders?”

”Rest assured, elder brother foresaw Old Ninth Wan Yan’s selfish intentions long ago. When he was alive, he deliberately separated Old Ninth Wan Yan from the main family. Although he’s part of the Wanyan family, he doesn’t know many secrets.” Third Uncle smiled slightly and continued in a low voice, ”Besides, it’s about time to let the world know about our Wanyan family. Everyone thinks the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls dominate the world, even the Nalan Family dares to step on us. This time, we should let the world see that our Wanyan family is not to be trifled with!”

The elder looked at Third Uncle in astonishment and said in a low voice, ”Third Uncle, now... now’s the time to let the world know our strength? Isn’t it a bit too early?”

”Certainly not now, Old Ninth Wan Yan can only reveal the surface part.” Third Uncle smiled and said, ”Let’s leak some hints first, so those people have a mental preparation. Soon enough, it will be the time for our Wanyan family to dominate the world!”
