Urban Martial Saint

The four of them left Aomuhan’s room and headed straight back to the main hall.

When Ye Qing returned this time, he had already informed everyone about the Buddha’s Left Hand and temporarily handed over the Buddha’s Relic to Shijia for safekeeping. However, he did not mention the consequences of using the technique of Buddha’s Left Hand.

The best outcome of using Buddha’s Left Hand is turning someone into a cripple, and the worst outcome is death from the overwhelming power causing the body to explode. Initially, Ye Qing was pondering on how to use Buddha’s Left Hand. Regardless of who it was meant for, Ye Qing couldn’t bring himself to ask anyone to use it.

Later, on the way back, Ye Qing had made up his mind. Since he couldn’t have someone else use this technique, he decided to use it himself in a desperate fight against the Corpse Ghost Dragon. Even if it cost him his life, if he could take down the Corpse Ghost Dragon, it would be considered a good deed. Confronting the Corpse Ghost Dragon, Ye Qing had already resolved to die, willing to sacrifice his life.

Having settled this matter in his mind, Ye Qing no longer worried too much. He didn’t reveal the consequences of using Buddha’s Left Hand because he didn’t want others to worry. If he spoke out, many would surely stop him from using it, which was not the outcome Ye Qing wanted. Now, by not mentioning it, Ye Qing could bear everything alone, not needing to consider others’ thoughts.

Since no one knew the consequences of using Buddha’s Left Hand, everyone was focused on figuring out how to kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon, not realizing there were subsequent issues to consider. By the time they reached the hall, Shijia and Wuhua were studying the Buddha’s Left Hand Buddha Relic.

The relic, placed in a wooden box, emitted golden light, exuding a somewhat sacred aura. Accompanied by the currents of Buddhist Chants, the atmosphere in the hall became incredibly solemn.

Of course, if Shijia hadn’t been standing in front of the Buddha Relic picking his toes, the scene would have remained quite sacred. However, upon witnessing Shijia picking his toes, much of the atmosphere was ruined.

”Young Ye, you’re back.” Seeing Ye Qing return, Shijia immediately waved at him and said, ”This Buddha Relic you sent, I’ve researched it too; it should be the real thing, indeed a relic transformed from Buddha’s bone. However, there is a very crucial issue now!”

”You also have a crucial issue?” Ye Qing asked in surprise, ”I also have a question I want to ask you.”

”What’s up?” Shijia asked, equally surprised, ”What question do you have?”

”Are you familiar with the secret techniques passed down from Patriarch Bodhidharma?” Ye Qing asked, concurrently explaining the Step by Step Golden Lotus to Shijia, omitting that he heard it from Luan Ping due to the crowd in the hall.

Luan Ping wanted to cooperate with them against the Corpse Ghost Dragon, but the news couldn’t be leaked; otherwise, dealing with the Corpse Ghost Dragon would become difficult. So Ye Qing temporarily concealed the matter, planning to address it after resolving the Corpse Ghost Dragon situation.

”Step by Step Golden Lotus?” Shijia paused momentarily and said, ”Now that you mention it, I did hear about such a technique, one of the six secret techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma. But I heard about it a long time ago, and for such a long time, I hadn’t seen it surface; I assumed it was merely a rumor. Now it seems, indeed, there is such a technique.”

”Such a technique really exists?” Ye Qing exclaimed in shock, ”But if that’s the case, wouldn’t there be seven techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma instead of six? What exactly are the six techniques that can drive the Buddha’s Left Hand?”

”It’s not seven techniques, still six.” Shijia shook his head, glancing at Shen Tianjun and the masked elder, ”Actually, I have long speculated that when it comes to the techniques they learned, it wasn’t two techniques but two half-techniques.”

”What do you mean?” Ye Qingqi asked curiously, with Shen Tianjun and the masked elder equally perplexed.

”They both learned half-techniques.” Shijia said, ”Combine the techniques they learned, and you have a complete technique. Causality, Endless Cycle, combined together is the Causal Cycle within the Buddhist Sect.”

”Causal Cycle?” Everyone exclaimed; no one had speculated such a thing before Shijia said so. Hearing it now, it truly prompted suspicion within their hearts, wondering if these two techniques, as Shijia stated, were indeed two half-techniques.

”These two techniques combined?” Ye Qing was even more astonished, glancing at Shen Tianjun and the masked elder, ”But whether it’s Causality or Endless Cycle, their power was not inferior to any other unique skills. The combination of these two techniques only amplifies the power. If you say this combination of Causal Cycle is one of the six techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma, doesn’t it seem odd? This technique’s power is vastly superior to the other five techniques, right?”

”Whether it is or not, asking me doesn’t help.” Shijia shrugged, ”These are the secret techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma; I don’t know the exact details. But one thing is certain, the Step by Step Golden Lotus is definitely one of the six techniques. I remember that this Step by Step Golden Lotus is the best defensive technique among the six.”

Helian Tiehua frowned and said, ”So, to use the Buddha’s Left Hand against the Corpse Ghost Dragon, we must find Nalan Jingwei for assistance?”

Shijia said, ”Not only do we need to find him, but we also have to get the Purple Robe Lama over here. The Purple Robe Lama has another technique called Crossing the River with a Reed. We need to combine all these techniques together to have the power to fight the Corpse Ghost Dragon!”

Everyone exchanged glances; this matter seemed a bit challenging. Finding the Purple Robe Lama was easier since he was also considered a person of the Buddhist Sect, and he surely wouldn’t sit by and watch the Corpse Ghost Dragon cause senseless slaughter. However, Nalan Jingwei was different; the Nalan Family had always harbored ill intentions. After the Corpse Ghost Dragon incident occurred, the Nalan Family had been keeping a low profile and hadn’t stepped forward to help. Will they come to assist against the Corpse Ghost Dragon now? After all, if we can’t kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon, it would definitely rebound on them, and if the Corpse Ghost Dragon recoils, it would certainly not spare them.

”No matter what, we have to at least try,” Shen Tianjun suddenly said in a grave voice, ”If Nalan Jingwei is willing to come help deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon, then I will write off our previous grievances. If he doesn’t come to help, after this matter is settled, I will definitely settle the previous scores with him!”

Hearing Shen Tianjun’s words, Helian Tiehua also nodded slowly and said solemnly, ”If he comes to help, what happened last time in Humeng City can be considered as never happening.”

Last time, when Nalan Jingwei went to Humeng City, he killed quite a few people from the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance. If Helian Tiehua could pretend it never happened, you could see how crucial he considered the Corpse Ghost Dragon issue. If the Corpse Ghost Dragon is not slain, there would be no peace in the world.

Hearing their words, Ye Qing also nodded slowly and said, ”In that case, let’s send an invitation to Nalan Jingwei. I believe he will come. After all, if the Corpse Ghost Dragon is allowed to grow, the Nalan Family will not have an easy time either. Under the nest that’s overturned, no eggs remain intact. If Shenchuan City falls, the other great families will be next. No one can escape the ambition of the Corpse Ghost Dragon!”

”That’s right!” everyone agreed, nodding. In dealing with the Corpse Ghost Dragon, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls could unite; what were past grudges worth in comparison?

”By the way, what issue did you mention earlier?” Ye Qing looked at Shijia with curiosity.

”It’s about the Buddha’s Relic.” Shijia patted the wooden box, showing no respect for the Buddha’s Relic left behind by Shakyamuni, still maintaining his carefree and casual demeanor.

”What about the Buddha’s Relic?” Ye Qing asked quickly, starting to worry whether the Buddha’s Relic might not be able to kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon.

”The Buddha’s Relic is real, and the power it contains is extremely strong; killing the Corpse Ghost Dragon is just a piece of cake,” Shijia said.

Hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As long as the Corpse Ghost Dragon could be slain, there would be no problem.

”That’s good then,” Ye Qing said. ”What other issues are there?”

”The issue lies here,” Shijia said. ”The power contained in the Buddha’s Relic cannot be unleashed unless the six techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma are used to activate it. The most crucial point is that this invisible power needs a vessel to manifest its effect.”

Ye Qing’s heart skipped a beat, surprised by Shijia’s sharp insight that could see the Buddha’s Relic needed a vessel to exert its power. Ye Qing had not previously mentioned this, only telling everyone that they needed to use the six techniques to activate the power of the Buddha’s Relic to kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon. His original plan was to use himself as the vessel while holding the Buddha’s Relic, unleashing its power to slay the Corpse Ghost Dragon. Now that Shijia had pointed it out, things got slightly more complicated.

”What does needing a vessel entail?” Shen Tianjun asked from behind.

”That’s the big issue,” Shijia said. ”We don’t know exactly how powerful Shakyamuni’s strength is. But as the figure known as the Buddha in later generations of the Buddhist Sect, his power is almost infinite and immeasurable, far surpassing the Corpse Ghost Dragon without a doubt. Though it’s just a Buddha’s Relic, the power it contains is not something an ordinary person can withstand. By then, whoever acts as the vessel for this power might not be able to bear it. If the power enters the body, it will likely cause the person’s body to explode and die!”

”Is there such a thing?” everyone exclaimed, Shen Tianjun immediately looking at Ye Qing, ”Ye Qing, is it true?”

Ye Qing felt embarrassed, not expecting Shijia had indeed noticed this and actually brought it up. Now, with all eyes on him, how could he resolve this situation?
