Urban Martial Saint

Upon hearing Shen Tianjun’s words, everyone was full of doubt: ”Yeah, for so many years, that Eternal Demon has been dead. Reinforcing the seal, isn’t this a bit nonsensical?”

”Could it be that the Eternal Demon isn’t actually dead?”

”How is that possible? Thousands of years have passed, and even the Buddhist and Taoist paths couldn’t persist through time, let alone some Eternal Demon?”

”But haven’t the Demon Pets of the Demon Hideout Cave survived until now?”

”I’m not worried about these issues; I’m worried that the Buddha’s Relic used to suppress the Eternal Demon has been taken out. Wouldn’t that make the seal weak again? If so, can that Eternal Demon escape?”

Faced with the discussions of the crowd, Shijia simply shrugged and said, ”Don’t ask me. I’m not omnipotent. How could I know so much? To be honest, it’s the first time I’ve heard about the Eternal Demon being suppressed beneath this tomb!”

Ye Qing stared at Shijia for a while and suddenly said, ”I don’t believe you. That stele only counts as being on the outer perimeter of the tomb, and besides the dragon crocodile guarding it, there are no other traps. Over so many years, someone must have stumbled upon it. Has this always gone unnoticed?”

”You’re really something. You don’t believe the truth and want me to lie, huh?” Shijia said, ”I really heard about the stele for the first time. As for whether someone stumbled upon and discovered the stele, to be honest, I also suspect it’s possible. But don’t forget, the tomb was built by the Demon Sect. In order to prevent Patriarch Bodhidharma’s Secret Technique from being discovered by outsiders, they went to great lengths to create such a massive project, which shows how much the Demon Sect values what’s inside. To be honest, I used to wonder why the Demon Sect would expend so much effort to suppress what Patriarch Bodhidharma left behind. Now, I vaguely understand that what the Demon Sect wants to seal might not be Bodhidharma’s Unique Skill but something else!”

At these words, everyone’s expressions changed slightly, and they all looked at Shijia. Shen Tianjun whispered, ”You mean the people from the Demon Sect want to seal the matter of the Eternal Demon?”

”Isn’t that incorrect?” Ding Lianshun said, ”Since he’s called an Evil Demon, he must be a member of the Demon Sect. If this demon is released, it will certainly enhance the power of the Demon Sect. Why does the Demon Sect not try to release him but instead goes to the trouble of sealing that place? Doesn’t this seem illogical?”

”You’re clearly not familiar with the Demon Sect,” Shijia said. ”Why is it called the Demon Sect? Because they are unconventional and do some evil deeds. The Demon Sect is filled with intrigue and conspiracy. The power of the Eternal Demon is too great. If he appears, won’t the existing members of the Demon Sect be all trampled underfoot? With the Demon Sect members’ nature, they certainly won’t allow that to happen!”

”You mean...” Ding Lianshun furrowed his brow and said, ”The people from the Demon Sect deliberately want to seal the Eternal Demon?”

”But if they want to do that, why did they expose the stele for the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal?” Ye Qingqi asked.

”I’m just speculating, how would I know what the Demon Sect people are thinking?” Shijia shrugged and said, ”I think we shouldn’t overthink this matter. Right now, the urgent task is to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. As for the Eternal Demon, after all, it’s being suppressed, what are you all so excited about?”

Bai Li Xi said, ”That’s not the point; the stele is in a loose state. If someone pushes it open, the Eternal Demon would be released, wouldn’t he?”

”Do you think the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal is that easy to push open?” Shijia stared and said, ”Do you know why it’s called Unmovable as Mountains? It means the stele is like a mountain; it simply can’t be pushed open. Do you think anyone can just push open that stele?”

”I pushed that stele open a few times without much difficulty,” Ye Qing said from the side.

”Damn, are you the same?” Shijia said, ”You can walk into the chamber where Patriarch Bodhidharma passed away. Do you think all this is just coincidence?”

”So according to you, is there something special about Ye Qing?” Shen Tianjun looked at Shijia, puzzled, ”You asked him to find the Secret Technique left by Patriarch Bodhidharma, knowing for sure that Ye Qing could retrieve it, didn’t you?”

Ye Qing also looked at Shijia. He wanted to know what was special about him that made Shijia choose him back then.

”Heh heh...” Shijia chuckled, looking meaningfully at Shen Tianjun, then at the masked elder beside Shen Tianjun, ”Do I really need to explain this?”

Hearing this, the crowd was even more astonished. Shen Tianjun nodded knowingly without further questioning.

”What’s going on?” Ye Qing couldn’t help it. Shijia started keeping secrets at this point, refusing to explain further, driving everyone crazy.

Shijia spread his hands and said, ”About what’s going on, don’t ask me; ask your Uncle Shen.”

Ye Qing looked at Shen Tianjun, and Shen Tianjun gently shook his head, saying softly, ”We’ll talk about this later.”

Seeing that Shen Tianjun said this, Ye Qing didn’t ask anymore. After all, he knew that Shen Tianjun would never deceive him. If Shen Tianjun didn’t speak, he must have a reason for that.

Shijia looked at everyone and said, ”So, any other questions? If not...”

”I have a question,” Ye Qing interrupted Shijia. He paused for a moment, then said solemnly, ”I suspect that the Eternal Demon isn’t dead.”

As soon as he said this, there was an uproar at the scene. The mention of the Eternal Demon had already caused a stir before. Now Ye Qing’s words made everyone even more shocked.

”Y-you’re just talking nonsense, aren’t you?” Shijia looked at Ye Qing in shock, clearly also very stunned.

”It’s true!” Ye Qing slowly recounted the story of how the Mystic Iron Chains had pulled the great dragon crocodile and ten skeletons into the Water Cave. He hadn’t had a chance to mention it due to the rush earlier. Now, saying it out loud naturally left everyone at the scene in shock.

”You said...” Shijia looked at Ye Qing and said, ”The Mystic Iron Chains pulled the great dragon crocodile and ten skeletons into the Water Cave?”

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”Not only that, but the Mystic Iron Chains avoided me, as if they meant no harm, and even seemed to protect me.”

”This...” Shijia’s expression became noticeably more serious, and his gaze at Ye Qing was clearly filled with more astonishment. Whatever he was thinking, Shijia was silent for a long time before he slowly nodded and said, ”If that’s the case, then this is not as simple as we imagined. After this Corpse Ghost Dragon matter, it seems I’ll have to go there myself.”

Ye Qing initially wanted to find out from Shijia what exactly was in the Water Cave. Unexpectedly, Shijia himself didn’t know at all. It seemed he couldn’t get any answers from him, and this matter would have to be set aside for now.

Later, everyone discussed how to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. With Luan Ping’s cooperation, it became much easier to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. They just needed to gather the six Secret Techniques left by Patriarch Bodhidharma to activate the Buddha’s Left Hand. The key issue now was to gather these six Secret Techniques from Bodhidharma. Otherwise, without being able to activate the power within the Honored Buddha’s Relic Sharira, whatever they said was meaningless.

Before they knew about the Step by Step Golden Lotus move, they considered how to invite the Purple Robe Lama. If the Purple Robe Lama was willing to help, the matter could be resolved. But now, they had to consider not only the Purple Robe Lama but also Nalan Jingwei.

It was relatively easier to invite the Purple Robe Lama, but inviting Nalan Jingwei was a more troublesome matter.

Of course, these tasks were assigned to Helian Tiehua to handle. Both the Purple Robe Lama and Nalan Jingwei were far from Shenchuan City, and even if they agreed to come, it would take at least two or three days.

For others, these two or three days were preparation time to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. But for Ye Qing, it was essentially the last part of his life. He had to personally hold the Buddha’s Relic Sharira and use the Buddha’s Left Hand to kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon. In other words, he had to endure the powerful force of the Buddha’s Left Hand himself, which could mean becoming disabled or even dying on the spot. Although Ye Qing fabricated a lie to reassure everyone, saying they need not worry, in reality, even if others weren’t worried, could he not be worried himself?

In these two or three days, what Ye Qing wanted most was to return to his hometown, to his father and family, and to spend time together. If he could find his brother Ye Jun, that would be even better. But now, all of this was impossible. Given the situation in Shenchuan City, if Ye Qing left, it would surely arouse suspicion. So he had to remain in Shenchuan City, waiting for the confrontation with the Corpse Ghost Dragon. As for the wish to see his father and family, it was no longer possible.

Of course, if after this great battle he was lucky to survive, even if he became a cripple, he could return home and reunite with his family. And this was the best outcome Ye Qing could think of. But would matters really be that simple? Ye Qing couldn’t even bear the inner strength of a peak master, let alone the power of the Buddha’s Left Hand. The sheer force entering his body was bound to cause him to explode to death!
