I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 300: Chapter 284: Accidentally Touched

Li You went into the kitchen and got busy.

After those customers, more and more people arrived.

Everyone was pleasantly surprised to learn that Longjing Shrimp was officially on the menu today.

They had been waiting for this dish for so long.

However, the price of 88 yuan per serving made many of them hesitate.

Most customers were still a bit reluctant to spend that much.

Of course, no one said Li You was overcharging. Everyone knew that if he set a price, he must have his reasons, and the dish was definitely worth it.

But what could they do if they were desperate to try it?

The solution was simple: two or three people could split a single order, making the shared cost much more acceptable.

So, the customers began looking for partners to share a dish with.

The restaurant once again grew lively.

Chu Yiwei arrived as well.

She also wanted to order the Longjing Shrimp but couldn’t bring herself to spend the money. She had come alone today, so there was no one to split the cost with.

’Oh well, I’ll just skip it. I’ll order it next time I come with Teacher Lin Xin.’

In the end, Chu Yiwei ordered a plate of Mapo Tofu and a bowl of rice.

After slowly finishing her meal, she paid the bill. She planned to rest for a bit before heading back to school.

Li You walked over and said, ”Teacher Chu, I’ve planted the Soursop Trees. I planted two of them.”

”Really? I want to see them.” Chu Yiwei was very interested. She stood up and walked toward the Hundred Fruit Garden.

”I’ll go with you,” Li You said.

”Okay!”

The two of them left the restaurant, entered the Hundred Fruit Garden, and walked over to the two Soursop Trees.

Chu Yiwei examined them closely and said, ”So this is what a Soursop Tree looks like. To be honest, I’ve never seen one before.”

That was perfectly normal, of course. Many people might recognize a soursop fruit but not know what the tree looks like.

Li You smiled. ”It’s normal not to know! I didn’t either before.”

Chu Yiwei added, ”These trees are so big for being freshly planted. Boss, where did you get them?”

Li You said, ”A friend in Zhejiang Province helped me buy them, and they were shipped over.”

’Where did the two trees come from? I can’t tell her the truth, of course. I just have to make something up.’

Chu Yiwei nodded and said, ”Trees this big might even bear fruit next year. That is, if they’re successfully planted, of course.”

Li You said, ”I hope they’ll grow well. If they really do bear fruit and it ripens, I’ll treat you to some.”

”Great!” Chu Yiwei was delighted. ”I’ll be waiting, then.”

Li You smiled. ”Okay.”

Chu Yiwei then asked, ”By the way, you’re also building a Tea Garden, right?”

Li You nodded and pointed in a certain direction. ”It’s over there. The land has already been prepared; I’m just waiting for the tea plants to arrive. I’ll plant them as soon as they get here.”

Chu Yiwei said, ”I’d like to see it.”

”Okay, I’ll take you.”

”Okay, thank you, Boss!”

The two of them walked out of the Hundred Fruit Garden and over to the Tea Garden.

Chu Yiwei remarked, ”This Tea Garden is quite large. Boss, are you planning to pick and process the tea yourself in the future?”

Li You replied, ”I’ll give it a try when the time comes, but it’s hard to say if I’ll succeed. Of course, it’s not like I absolutely have to succeed. I’m mostly just planting them for fun.”

Chu Yiwei said, ”When the time comes, I can help you pick the tea. Before I became a teacher, I spent some time picking tea professionally on Mengding Mountain.”

’So, Teacher Chu is a professional tea picker.’

Mengding Mountain, also known as Meng Mountain, is an extremely famous tea-producing region in Chuansheng Province. It is well-known even throughout the entire country.

It is also the birthplace of world tea civilization and the cradle of world tea culture. Furthermore, it is the earliest place where tea cultivation was recorded in the nation’s history.

According to historical records, as early as the Western Han Dynasty over two thousand years ago, the tea patriarch of Mengding Mountain, Wu Lizhen, domesticated wild tea trees on the mountain, thus beginning the history of artificial tea cultivation.

Having picked tea professionally on Mengding Mountain, Chu Yiwei was definitely an expert.

Li You smiled. ”In that case, I’ll really have to trouble you for help, Teacher Chu. To be honest, I only have a vague understanding of tea picking.”

Chu Yiwei smiled faintly. ”Just call me when the time comes, Boss.”

Li You nodded repeatedly. ”Okay, okay.”

After a moment, he added, ”By the way, since we’re on the topic, you must really enjoy drinking tea, Teacher Chu?”

Chu Yiwei said, ”I wouldn’t say I *really* enjoy it. I just like drinking it more than most.”

Li You said, ”Then let me give you some tea. Come on, let’s head back.”

”Well...” Chu Yiwei thought for a moment and didn’t refuse. ”Thank you, Boss.”

Li You said, ”Don’t be so polite, Teacher Chu.”

Afterward, the two of them returned to the restaurant.

Li You added, ”It’s upstairs. Let’s go up.”

Chu Yiwei nodded. ”Okay.”

The two of them went upstairs.

This was Chu Yiwei’s second time coming upstairs.

Li You invited Chu Yiwei to sit on the sofa, then said, ”I’ll go get it for you.”

”Thank you, Boss!”

Li You again told Chu Yiwei not to be so formal, then walked into his room. He took out about a jin of tea leaves from the Storage Pavilion and put them in a bag.

He walked out of the room carrying the bag, went to the sofa, and handed it to Chu Yiwei. ”Here you go, Teacher Chu.”

Chu Yiwei accepted it with both hands, thanked him again, and then carefully examined the tea leaves in the bag.

One look and her face paled in shock. ”Boss, this is West Lake Longjing Tea! And it’s the highest grade, the absolute finest quality. Boss, this tea is far too valuable. I can’t accept this.”

After saying this, she quickly put the tea down.

Chu Yiwei had originally thought it was just some ordinary good tea, never expecting it to be top-grade West Lake Longjing Tea.

This was the kind of tea that was nearly impossible to buy, even if you had the money.

Its value was incredibly high!

And there was so much of it, too. This was almost a whole jin.

’How much must this be worth?’

Chu Yiwei didn’t dare to take it.

Li You said, ”It doesn’t matter if it’s valuable or not. It’s just tea, meant for drinking. Please take it, Teacher Chu.”

But Chu Yiwei still shook her head. ”No, no. It’s too valuable, far too valuable. I can’t accept it.”

Li You replied, ”If you don’t take it, how could I have the nerve to ask for your help picking tea in the future? Just consider it an advance payment for your work.”

Chu Yiwei said, ”It’s just helping pick some tea, why would I need any payment? Besides, even if I were paid, the value of this tea far exceeds any reasonable wage. Boss, I really can’t take this. I didn’t know the tea you mentioned was so precious.”

Li You said, ”It’s really nothing. I have plenty more of this tea. I hope more tea lovers can get to taste it. That would make me very happy.”

”Well... how about I just take a tiny bit? Just enough to go home and brew a cup to taste it,” Chu Yiwei suggested.

Li You said, ”This isn’t even that much to begin with. Take it, take it all.”

A blush spread across Chu Yiwei’s face as she finally took the tea into her hands.
