I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Overjoyed, they continued to eat the Chopped Pepper Fish Head.

”By the way, is this dish complicated to make? Could we make it at home ourselves?” Lin Guodong asked.

”It’s not complicated,” Lin Xiao said. ”I heard Boss Li You say it’s not complicated, you just need chopped peppers. You can make the chopped peppers yourself, or you can buy them ready-made at the market.”

Lin Guodong’s eyes lit up. He added, ”Then should we ask Xiaoyou for the recipe later? We could make it at home in the future. Even though we definitely couldn’t replicate Xiaoyou’s amazing flavor, it would be good enough if it just tastes decent.”

Lin Zhonghai, Zhang Zongfu, and the others all nodded. They also wanted to know the recipe.

After that, the other dishes, like Mapo Tofu and Crucian Carp with Agastache, were brought out one by one.

Li You finished up his work and walked out of the kitchen, coming over to the table where Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, and the others were sitting.

When Lin Guodong saw him, he said, ”Xiaoyou, you’re just in time. This Chopped Pepper Fish Head is incredibly delicious. We’d like to know the recipe so we can make it ourselves when we get back home. Could you tell us?”

Li You smiled. ”Of course. The recipe for this dish is actually very simple...”

Li You explained the recipe for the Chopped Pepper Fish Head in considerable detail.

A dish like this had no secret steps in its preparation, and Li You was more than happy to share the recipe with others.

Sharing the recipe didn’t mean others could make a dish that was just as delicious.

Forget just sharing the recipe; even if Li You had people follow him in the kitchen, copying every single step, the flavor they produced would still be a far cry from his.

After listening, the eyes of Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, Zhang Zongfu, and the others all lit up. The recipe was indeed simple, and so were the ingredients.

Bighead carp was one of the most commonly eaten fish, and you could even buy ready-made chopped peppers directly.

This meant it would be very easy to make Chopped Pepper Fish Head at home.

This was great!

In the future, when they ate bighead carp, they wouldn’t have to cook the head and the body together anymore. Instead, they could make the head into Chopped Pepper Fish Head.

It was both delicious and an extra dish. It would be absolutely perfect for serving guests.

This meal today was really worth it.

Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, Zhang Zongfu, and the others were all very happy.

After thanking Li You repeatedly, they continued their meal.

Li You returned to the kitchen, made a serving of Mapo Tofu, a serving of Twice-cooked Pork with Garlic Sprouts, and a bowl of Tomato and Egg Soup, then called Ye Shengge down to eat.

The two dishes and one soup were more than enough for their lunch today.

”Boss, are we going to keep looking for wild fruit this afternoon?” Ye Shengge asked.

Li You nodded. ”We can go. We’ll find one or two types and bring them back.”

”That’s great!” Ye Shengge was very happy.

After they finished their meal slowly, they would rest for a bit. Once all the customers had finished eating and left, they could set out to find wild fruit.

Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, Zhang Zongfu, and the others finished eating as well.

When it was time to pay, Li You had planned to give them a small discount, but Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, Zhang Zongfu, and everyone else said there was no need. They said if he gave them a discount, they’d be too embarrassed to come back and eat again next time.

Li You could only drop the idea.

After settling the bill, the group bid farewell to Li You. They had to head back.

Lin Xiao had originally planned to go back with them. But when she found out that Li You and Ye Shengge were going to look for wild fruit in the afternoon, she excitedly declared that she wanted to go along too. She then told Lin Zhonghai and her grandmother to go back first, saying she would return after they found the fruit.

Seeing Lin Xiao’s eager expression, Lin Zhonghai couldn’t bear to refuse and agreed. Then he said, ”In that case, I’ll come pick you up later this afternoon.”

He knew that if he didn’t come to pick her up, Li You would definitely end up taking Lin Xiao home again.

Lin Zhonghai was embarrassed to trouble Li You with that again.

But Li You said, ”Elder Lin, there’s no need for you to come. I can just take her home. It’s not far.”

Lin Zhonghai said, ”Having you take her home every time is too much trouble.”

Li You replied, ”What’s so troublesome about it? Elder Lin, you’re being too formal!”

Lin Zhonghai laughed and said, ”Alright, then I won’t be formal. I’ll entrust this girl to you, Xiaoyou.”

’That sounds a bit odd, doesn’t it?’

Li You smiled. Lin Xiao, meanwhile, blushed slightly once again.

After that, Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, Zhang Zongfu, and the others took their leave.

By this time, the color had returned to Lin Xiao’s face. She asked Li You and Ye Shengge excitedly, ”Boss, Sister Ye, where are we going to look for wild fruit?”

Ye Shengge smiled faintly. ”It’s up to the boss. I just follow his lead.”

Li You smiled as well and said, ”We’ll see in a bit. We’ll just pick a random direction and head out.”

Lu Yuan’s table also slowly finished their meal.

Every single person was extremely satisfied with the food, the drinks, and the conversation.

Lu Yuan was in an exceptionally good mood. The atmosphere for a meal like this was just too wonderful.

When it was time to pay, everyone split the bill.

After paying, the customers left one after another.

Lu Yuan didn’t leave. He was going to stay here until dinner, and then after eating the Yangchun Noodles here tomorrow morning, he would return to the Southwest Film and Television Base.

After seeing off the other guests from his table, Lu Yuan chatted with Li You at the entrance. When he learned that Li You was going to look for wild fruit in the afternoon, he too became very interested and said he wanted to go along.

Of course, Li You welcomed him warmly.

A little while later, all the customers in the restaurant had finished eating and left.

Li You prepared to set off.

Ye Shengge, Lin Xiao, and Lu Yuan all looked eager and excited.

Time to go, then.

They still brought along tools like a hoe, a machete, ropes, and bags.

”Boss, where are we going to look?” Lu Yuan asked.

Li You casually picked a direction and said, ”This way. Let’s head in this direction and see if we can find anything.”

”Alright, let’s go, let’s go. I can’t wait to see what we find!” Lu Yuan said.

At that moment, Lu Yuan suddenly had the illusion of being a young boy again, setting out with his friends to find wild fruit.

This made him feel inexplicably excited.

He never thought that after nearly thirty years, he would once again be setting out to look for wild fruit.

Moreover, his sense of anticipation for the outcome was even stronger now than it had been in his youth.

’Will we find anything on this trip? And what will we find? Will I recognize any of it? Will there be anything I ate when I was young?’

He had spent nearly two years in the countryside in his youth, and the wild fruits he had eaten were far from just the Half Spring.

So, he was very much looking forward to the results.

Of course, Li You, Ye Shengge, and Lin Xiao were also looking forward to the results.

The group of four officially set off.

They hadn’t gone far before they discovered a large patch of wild ground melon vines.

Wild ground melons were one of the best wild fruits. Such a large patch of vines was quite an exciting find.

Unfortunately, the wild fruit orchard already had this type of wild fruit.

Therefore, it couldn’t be a target for Li You’s group of four.

Besides, the wild ground melons weren’t ripe yet at this time of year.

Otherwise, they could have picked some and eaten them as they walked, which would have been absolutely delightful.

What a pity.

But no matter. They would remember this spot. Once the wild ground melons were ripe, they could come back and pick their fill.

For now, they crossed the patch of wild ground melon vines and continued forward.
