I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 293: Chapter 277: Turns Out There’s Exquisite Tea Here, Too

Li You completely agreed with the customer’s sentiment.

A Tea Garden truly was a place full of poetic charm.

With the Tea Garden, the restaurant gained a new, picturesque quality.

He checked the time; it was already 11 AM. ’No wonder customers are already here.’

Time really flew by when he was busy working.

”Are you here for lunch, Boss Yang?” Li You asked the customer.

The customer was a regular, a man named Yang Zheng, who ran a small supermarket in town.

The supermarket wasn’t large, but business was good, and he made a decent profit every month.

Yang Zheng said, ”There’s no rush. You can keep busy a little longer, Boss Li.”

Li You said, ”In that case, I’ll just finish clearing away these last few big rocks.”

Yang Zheng nodded. ”Alright.”

Li You picked up his hand hammer and chisel and continued breaking up a large rock.

He kept chatting with Yang Zheng as he broke the rocks.

After breaking all the rocks apart, he then moved the pieces to the edge of the area to form a border.

Seeing this, Yang Zheng also pitched in to help move the rocks.

Li You quickly told him he didn’t need to help. How could he let a customer lend a hand?

But Yang Zheng said that seeing Li You work so energetically made his hands itch to do something, and he wanted to stretch a bit.

Li You could only express his thanks.

Working together, the two of them quickly moved all the rocks to the edge of the area.

All that was left was to clear out the weeds in the afternoon.

And now, the work was done.

”Boss Yang, thanks for the help,” Li You said again gratefully. He thought about offering him a cigarette, but he didn’t have any on him.

’Looks like I should buy a pack to keep on hand. I don’t smoke, but sometimes you need to offer one to people.’

Yang Zheng waved his hand. ”Don’t be so formal, Boss Li. What’s a little help like this? I just considered it a bit of exercise.”

Then, the two of them walked back to the front of the restaurant.

By this time, more lunch customers had arrived.

Li You went into the kitchen and got busy. He also secretly instructed Da Bai and Xiaohai to give Yang Zheng a 20% discount when he paid his bill later.

Da Bai and Xiaohai both nodded.

...

A short while later, Yang Zheng finished his meal and called Da Bai over to settle the bill.

Da Bai gave Yang Zheng a 20% discount.

Yang Zheng was a little surprised, but he naturally understood why Da Bai had given him a 20% discount.

’This Boss Li is just too polite.’

After paying, Yang Zheng walked over to the kitchen entrance to thank Li You, then said, ”Boss Li, a 20% discount just for moving a few rocks? You’re making me feel a little embarrassed!”

Li You laughed. ”That was hard labor. A 20% discount is only proper.”

Yang Zheng laughed too. ”So if I move a few more rocks next time, will Boss Li give me a 40% or 50% discount?”

Li You said, ”Next time, the meal will be on me, Boss Yang.”

Hearing this, Yang Zheng laughed heartily and added, ”In that case, I definitely won’t be polite.”

Li You said, ”You shouldn’t be in the first place.”

After chatting for a few more moments, Yang Zheng took his leave.

Li You went back to work.

In the middle of it all, he stir-fried some twice-cooked pork with garlic sprouts for himself and ate his meal.

At 2:30 in the afternoon, after all the customers had finished eating and left, Li You relaxed in his rocking chair.

He planned to rest for a bit before going back to the Tea Garden to clear the weeds.

’Oh, right. I should brew a cup of the superior-grade West Lake Longjing Tea the system gave me yesterday and see how it tastes.’

Li You wasn’t particularly fond of tea. He could take it or leave it.

However, Li You was very interested to find out what the taste of a superior-grade West Lake Longjing Tea from the system would be like.

In the real world, West Lake Longjing Tea is the finest variety of Longjing Tea. And West Lake Longjing Tea itself is divided into multiple grades, such as special grade, first grade, second grade, third grade, and so on.

Among them, the special grade West Lake Longjing Tea is undoubtedly the best.

’The system’s superior-grade West Lake Longjing Tea should be even better than the special grade, right?’

After all, above superior grade, there was only supreme grade.

And so far, whether in the real world, from system rewards, or in game instances, a supreme-grade ingredient had never appeared.

Not even once.

This showed that even from system rewards or in game instances, supreme-grade ingredients were extremely rare.

That meant the quality of a superior-grade ingredient must be incredibly high. The real world’s special grade West Lake Longjing Tea probably couldn’t compare.

’I’ll brew a cup and try it.’

Li You got up, walked into the restaurant, and took out a teacup. He then retrieved a small amount of West Lake Longjing Tea from the Storage Pavilion.

He held it in his hand to observe it.

To be honest, Li You couldn’t tell good tea leaves from bad. He didn’t know much about tea.

However, it had a fresh, tender fragrance that was very pleasant.

’Good tea!’

’Tea that smells this pleasant has to be good tea, right?’

He put the tea leaves into the cup.

’Oh, right. It seems you can’t brew West Lake Longjing Tea directly with freshly boiled water.’

Because West Lake Longjing is an unfermented green tea, its leaves are very delicate. The substances within them are released quickly.

Brewing it with freshly boiled water, where the temperature is too high, would cause the substances in the tea to be released too fast, thus affecting the taste.

The optimal water temperature for brewing West Lake Longjing Tea is between 80 and 85 degrees Celsius.

’That should be right.’

Li You had learned this by chance sometime before.

After letting a kettle of boiled water cool for a while, he felt the temperature was about right. Li You poured it into the teacup.

That was all it needed; no lid was necessary.

He carried the tea back to the rocking chair in front of the restaurant.

Looking into the cup, everything from the shape and color of the tea leaves to the color of the brew itself was beautiful.

Once the water had cooled enough to drink, Li You eagerly took a small sip.

He felt his entire mouth fill with a fresh, mellow, and sweet flavor, a rich aroma, and a full-bodied richness.

As he swallowed, the tea felt smooth and delicate, incredibly pleasant.

Even after swallowing, a lingering fragrance remained, with an endless aftertaste.

’Definitely good tea!’

Even Li You, who had no particular preference for tea, found it exceptionally delicious.

This tea probably surpassed the special grade West Lake Longjing.

Although Li You had never drunk special grade West Lake Longjing, he was quite certain of this.

It wasn’t an absolute certainty, but the probability was definitely very high.

Li You lifted the cup and took another sip. He found its flavor even more profound and incredibly delicious.

’This kind of moment, this kind of tea... this is the life!’

Li You leaned back in his chair, his eyes slightly narrowed, thoroughly enjoying himself.

After an unknown amount of time, a very surprised and pleased voice reached his ears. ”What an intoxicating tea aroma! Boss Li, you’re truly living a comfortable life.”

The voice gave Li You a pleasant surprise.

Because it was Guyi’s voice.

Li You quickly opened his eyes and turned his head. Sure enough, he saw Guyi standing beside him, looking at him with a smile.

Li You hurriedly stood up and said excitedly, ”Ancient, you’ve arrived.”

Guyi laughed heartily and said, ”I have. And I’m only just now realizing that besides supreme delicacies and supreme wines, Boss Li also has supreme tea here.”

Li You said quickly, ”Ancient, please sit, please sit. Let me brew a cup of tea for you.”

Guyi nodded repeatedly. ”Excellent, excellent. Thank you, Boss Li.”

It was clear that besides his fondness for fine food and wine, Guyi also had a special love for tea.

The system’s superior-grade West Lake Longjing Tea could indeed be called a supreme tea.

Li You was very happy to be able to treat Guyi to such a supreme tea.

He walked into the restaurant and brewed a cup for Guyi.
