The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 246: Chapter 246- Back In Front Of The Senate Again

At that moment, Gwen’s sword was pushed away, redirecting the burst of steam upwards. BOOM... the dozens of feet wide stream of water shot through the sky and then came down as rain later.

BANG... in the same breath, Cadence kicked her disciple away, teaching a harsh lesson.

”Never take your eyes away from your opponent, no matter how surprised you are. Didn’t I teach you that already?”

”Kuh,” grunting in pain, Gwen picked herself up. They had been at it for quite some time now. However, the result was already clear to anyone. She was no match for Cadence.

”Sigh, I had expectations in my heart that maybe you have improved. However, it looks like you have learned nothing in the past half a year since joining the knight order”.

This time, the provocation finally made the look in Gwen’s eyes change. For some reason, when her knight order was slighted, she couldn’t take it.

”HAAHH!” Giving a cute battle cry, she came rushing towards her opponent again. This time, not only did she use her movement skill to the limit to increase her speed, she even used her water attribute skills to attack from a distance and distract her opponent.

With Gwen going all out, the courtyard was instantly devastated. Large cracks ran through the ground, and the entire estate shook intently as if a great earthquake were occurring.

.

.

Gwen twisted mid-air, eyes wide, and landed in a crouch. Her breath was sharp. Her mana surged. Water spiraled around her, forming a vortex of blades. She lunged, each strike flowing into the next, elegant, unpredictable, like a storm dancing on glass.

Nevertheless...

”Too slow.” No skills. No mana flares. Just sword. She parried Gwen’s strikes with the flat of her blade, each movement so precise that it felt rehearsed by fate itself. Cadence’s footwork was minimal and her eyes never left the side of her disciple.

”You’ve grown stronger. But strength isn’t mastery.” She stepped forward. Her blade drew beautiful, seamless arcs.

”You’ve gained levels. But levels don’t teach you how to fight.”

CLANG... Gwen’s sword was deflected back, exposing her defenceless self.

[One with the Sword], [Heart of the Sword], and even [Transition], it needs to be said that the high ranking knight the noble girl was fighting was at the peak, if not, at the top of superhuman powers.

If Gwen had any chance, it would be when the guard of her opponent was low after thinking she had won.

”[Radiant Ascension]” At that very instant when Cadence was going for the finishing blow, light shone down from the sky, and a split second later, a medium size pillar of light, about a dozen feet large, came crashing.

”What is the meaning of this? It does not even hurt?” Spoke the high ranking knight enveloped in the pillar of light.

Just like she said, the [Radiant Ascension] skill was a pure holy skill that only deals damage and purges the evil. On a human, it did not have much effect other than blinding them, that is.

That’s right, what Gwen was going for was not for damage but to cause her opponent to go blind. After the pillar of light ended, Cadence’s eyes were blank, unable to see anything. Using this momentum, she executed the first technique of the [Holy Blade Arts], First Light.

While she may not be as good as Kevin when it comes to learning sword techniques, she was nevertheless a top tier talent. With consistent and rigorous training, she managed to grasp some insight into the First Light of the [Holy Blade Arts].

At this moment, she used every skill and technique she had in her arsenal. Blinded and bombarded by the squire’s skill, logic dictated that Cadence should be unable to react to the sword.

However, logic had no place when it came to a high ranking knight who had mastered three transcendent states. Even without eyesight, a knight could react to attacks at the slightest perception of intent and danger.

CLANG... As evident, Cadence easily intercepted Gwen’s sword.

”This should be enough. Let’s stop here. I don’t think there is any meaning to continue this fight. Young miss come with master back to the terri..”

She was in the midst of speaking when suddenly her pupils contracted to the size of a pinpoint and her words got stuck in her throat. The reason for that being the scratch that suddenly appeared at the edges of her clothes.

Wha... when did she? Surprised, she glanced back at Gwen, who still looked a little disgruntled at her own powerlessness, not realising what she had managed to achieve.

To put a scratch on a high ranking knight who mastered three states of transcendence, forget about just her, even if there were hundreds of level 5 like her, they wouldn’t be able to touch her, much less put up a scratch.

That was how overwhelming the gap between them was. Yet against all odds, she managed to put a scratch on her clothes. While a damage of such minuscule degree was nothing for her and could easily be offset had she worn her armor. Nevertheless, it was true that Gwen managed to touch her.

”That sword art” be that may, she was an expert knight. Immediately, she realised that the reason why she suffered that loss was because of the sword technique her disciple used at that moment.

While she couldn’t see it because of being blind, it had to be extremely profound to manage to put a scratch on her.

”This?!” Over on the periphery of the courtyard, Gerard too noticed the profoundness of the sword art and skill Gwen used at the last moment and was struck dumb for a second.

After that, his eyes swivelled towards Reinhardt, who was looking at the conclusion of the fight, feeling satisfied by her growth. This man, just what kind of ridiculous sword art and skill did he teach his daughter?

”Once more, I am not done yet.” Gwen, pushing her body, got on her feet, ready to prove her resolve.

”No, that won’t be necessary” At this moment, Gerard and Reinhardt walked towards her.
