The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 231: Chapter 231- Delicia’s Choice (3)

One of the things that this noble body of his, which had been drilled with etiquette and good manners since childhood disliked, was uncivilness and discourtesy, qualities that the couple were showing currently.

”Don’t worry about them. Let us focus on our lunch”. Melissa, understanding his discomfort, shifted his attention to her.

”It was quite funny seeing his bumpkin reaction when we entered the restaurant”.

The scene she was talking about was when they entered the restaurant. As a country bumpkin who had never seen such shops of luxury, he was quite flummoxed when he saw the extravagant interior, glossy floor, prim and proper tables, and servants waiting on them.

For a moment, Karl was looking around, not knowing what to do. He even took off his shoes, not wanting to dirty the floor.

And when it came to ordering the food, the choices he came up with were so blatantly plain that a high class restaurant like this did not serve them. Even now, he was unable to work the cutlery and was making a fool of himself.

”Did you do this on purpose?”

As intelligent as Reinhardt was, he would of course know what would happen if a country bumpkin entered a shop like this.

”What do you mean?” The latter grinned, feigning ignorance. Just like Melissa said, he did this on purpose. The reason being that he had the audacity to deny Delicia of her wish to join his order. It was a petty revenge because he felt his order was slighted.

”Fine, don’t tell me, I already know the answer. However, can you at least tell me why you want that woman in your order?”

As she was not a combatant, she could not see what was good about the village chief’s wife. True, she was extremely beautiful and would probably be at the top of the beauty chart of the kingdom if someone made one.

However, it shouldn’t be enough to sway this stalwart of a man who was surrounded by such beauties. He definitely had some hidden agenda.

”It’s because she is worth it. All this time, she hadn’t been able to realise her true potential in the Silver Shields because they were unable to see her talent. However, for me it’s not hard. I can truly tell that she will shine once she joins my order as a potential future holy knight”.

Reinhardt smirked, feeling confident. Others might not be able to see someone’s talent. However, he can see everything that even the altar cannot display. The skill [Eyes of Divine Clarity] was literally the eyes of god that can see through everything.

At its peak, the temple of light had more than seven holy knights. But now, it hardly had three. Though the number went up by one after Zerina joined; nevertheless, it was still a far cry from the past.

Having reincarnated into the body of the Divine Paladin, Reinhardt wanted to bring the order back to its peak; no, he wanted to bring it to newer heights and make the strongest order in this world. A force that could even contend with the Forces of Darkness.

For that matter, he deemed Delicia to be a fine addition to his squad. However, Karl had to butt in to stop her. It was for this reason that he played the petty card.

.

Having finished their lunch, the four of them went to the outer district. Of course, even if it was still called the outer district, it no longer looked like the slum that it was before.

Clean roads, neat houses, markets, numerous high class establishments, and buildings still under construction. Looking at the place, nobody would be able to say that the area used to be the unhygienic and dirty outer district.

”There is a house after a block that has been built recently. It should match your status should you decide to join the order and become a future knight,” Melissa informed.

When Delicia heard that, her eyes instantly shone with happiness, and she couldn’t help but inspect about the house further.

Behind them was Karl, sighing and wanting to make up for his mistake. Reinhardt, walking by the side, did not offer any consolation.

Soon, the house being talked about entered their field of vision.

The moment Delicia laid her eyes on it, she fell in love. The house in front of them was a fortified stone house with a sloped room design. It had two storeys and arched windows framed in brass.

There was a small courtyard garden filled with wild grass and plants in the front. However, once one starts taking care of it, it will no doubt transform into a beautiful garden.

”I already like it!!” Delicia muttered even before they saw the interior of the house.

”Please keep making the decision after you see the interior,” Saying that, she led everyone inside the house.

As a newly built house, it did not have any furnishings. However, the walls, floor, and the making of the house spoke for themselves. There was a large entry door, modest halls, quite a few rooms, and it was packed with all the necessities and functions one would need to live here.

The kitchen was neither too big nor too small, just enough. It had two bathrooms and toilets on each floor and had 24X7 water supply.

.

Having finished touring the house, the couple looked dazed.

In front of the entrance, Reinhardt turned towards them and aksed ”So what have you guys decided?”

Delicia and Karl looked at each other. The one to speak first was the husband.

”I-Is the rent really only 2 silver coins per month?” The house had so many facilities and was so much bigger than the one they had back in the village, that he had difficulty believing the rent was in silver coins.

Reinhardt smiled, he glanced at Melissa for a second and nodded. Of course, there is no way such a big house with so many functions and utilities was just for silver coins.
