The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 243: Chapter 243- Appearance of Scarlett

”What?”

At those words, both Gwen and Reinhardt were surprised. The latter was somehow able to keep an impassive face thanks to the predisposition of this noble body. However, Gwen was unable to contain her emotions.

”Why? Why must I go back? I just joined the knight order not long ago”.

”Don’t talk back, just come with me.” Gerard had made his decision.

”You can’t do this to me. I passed the test you told me I had to go through before participating in the magic knight exam and joining a knight order. You can’t go back on your words now.”

Gwen insisted on staying. However, Gerard wasn’t having any of this. His words were last and final.

”You will come back with me. Your mother is waiting for you back in the house. If you still rebel, then I will use force if I must.” Saying that, he snapped his fingers. Immediately, one of the knights standing guard in the room removed her helmet.

”It’s been a while, young miss.” The face that appeared had slight scars but was nonetheless pretty.

”Master Cadence!” Gwen got up from her seat, her expression one of shock. It appeared that she knew the knight, and why would she not, after all, the person was none other than...

”You brought my master with you?”

The knight was her master who taught her, her current sword skills.

”You of all people should know how I operate. I knew that you wouldn’t come easily, as such I brought Cadence with me”.

Reinhardt glanced at the knight, browsing through his memories. Immediately, he recalled who she was. A high ranking knight of the order of the Gilded Rose and the retainer of the House Odessa.

As a knight, her feats were very famous and had reached even the ears of Reinhardt. Her most famous feat was taking down three high ranking demons down five years ago.

These high ranking demons were not like the ones he saw back in the tainted land, the newly risen ones. No, they were old high ranking demons, probably the first tier subordinates of some Heavenly King.

Of course, three old demons were no easy opponents; she had to give up a lot. In that fight, she lost her left hand. Of course, compared to her life, losing just a hand was nothing, she probably got a high level priest to cast a healing spell on her to grow it back.

Nevertheless, her feat was still impressive. And this person was the master who taught Gwen since the time she was a child.

”My lady, please don’t increase the burden that the master is already carrying. Come with us, it is for your own benefit,” Cadence tried to reason.

”How is that for my benefit. I have just started my journey as a knight, you can’t ask me to return home all of a sudden. Besides, I have created my place in this order through my own effort, if I leave now, all of it will come to naught”.

The knight sighed, ”As expected, you won’t come without a fight. In that case, come outside. Let me see what you have learned so far in the Order of the Temple of Light”.

Cadence walked out, her intentions were clear: she was asking for a duel with her own disciple.

Gwen, hesitant at first, still walked out on sheer stubbornness. Reinhardt glanced at Bob who understating his meaning, accompanied the two.

”So what is it that you wanted to tell me, even going as far as to force your daughter out?” Reinhardt looked at Gerard, who had been staring hard at the tea for some time now.

Everything earlier, from Cadence asking for a duel, was an act to bring Gwen out of this place. There could be only one reason for that, the subsequent discussion was something that he didn’t want his daughter to hear.

”As expected of that man’s son. You are quite intuitive. Indeed, there is something I would like to discuss with you. However, before that, will you let me take my daughter back? I know I am asking for a lot after she was chosen and signed up for your order. If you want, I can even reward you appropriately for the loss of one future knight.”

Gerard offered, one could even see a look of plea in the eyes of the father.

”It’s as you say, if you take her away, I lose a future knight; no, a high ranking knight. However, even if she didn’t have that potential, I wouldn’t let you take her away. Not only is it against the imperial rules, but now that she has joined the Temple of Light, she is part of the family. I can’t let someone take a family member away” Reinhardt gave his answer.

”A family huh?” Gerard sighed. Seeing that there was no other way to convince this man, he spoke the truth.

”Have you heard about the incident that occurred in the Staleport city of the neighbouring kingdom of Rune about a month ago?”

Reinhardt shook his head. About a month ago, he was busy rebuilding the city, then he had to go to the tainted lands to back up the knights of Lunar Veil. As such, he was not up to date with the events occurring around the world.

Naturally, the incident that occurred in the Staleport City of the kingdom neighbouring Solaris did not reach his ears.

”It astonishes me how ill informed you are. As one of the three level 10 heroes, if you do not possess an information network, then you won’t be able to respond in time during emergency,” The Earl of Odessa sighed.

Indeed, the previous Reinhardt was able to manage so far was largely due to the fact that he was operating in Lumiose City. His father, Duke Raymond, possessed his own information network and informed him of every piece of news going around the world, the moment he got hold of it.
