School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 447: Chapter 501: To Have Loved is Enough

It wasn’t just Huo Xinya who couldn’t bear it; Chen Nan felt the same way in his heart.

Seeing the expectant look in her eyes, Chen Nan quickly nodded, ”I’m not going anywhere tonight, I’ll just stay with you.”

”That’s great.”

Huo Xinya was thrilled and threw herself into Chen Nan’s arms, hugging him tightly, her face revealing the happiest smile.

It had to be said, the magic power of love was enormous, making even a timid girl like Huo Xinya forget to hold herself back.

Breathing in the enchanting fragrance of her hair, Chen Nan’s fingers caressed her face, ”Let me hold you in my arms as we sleep tonight, is that okay?”

”Mhm!”

Huo Xinya blushed and said, ”Just holding, not doing that, okay? I’m scared.”

Chen Nan chuckled, ”What, afraid I’ll take advantage of you?”

”No, that’s not what I mean,” Huo Xinya shook her head, ”I’m just not ready yet; I’m a bit scared, that’s all.”

Chen Nan touched her head, ”Don’t worry, I like you, and it’s not just about having your body. Tonight, I’ll just hold you in my arms to sleep, I absolutely won’t do anything else.”

”You are really kind.”

Huo Xinya looked at him affectionately and, mustering her courage, pecked Chen Nan on the lips.

Chen Nan touched his lips, smiling warmly, ”Xinxin, you’re becoming naughty.”

Huo Xinya’s cheeks reddened, she rolled her eyes at him and said with a low voice, ”Bad guy, you’re actually making fun of me; I won’t kiss you anymore.”

Chen Nan laughed, ”Don’t hang your head; lift it up.”

”What for?”

”You kissed me, so naturally I have to kiss you back!” Chen Nan touched her ear, which was as smooth as jade, ”Listen, lift your head.”

”You’ve kissed me so many times already, haven’t you had enough?” Huo Xinya muttered.

Chen Nan bent down and kissed her beautiful eyes, ”Of course not; I could never get enough of kissing you all my life.”

All my life...

Hearing these four words, Huo Xinya’s heart clenched, feeling a sourness that made her want to cry.

Chen Nan also realized he had said the wrong thing and quickly touched her hair, ”Let’s not think too much about it; let’s watch some TV.”

Huo Xinya remained silent.

After a full three seconds, she suddenly leaned into Chen Nan’s arms and hugged him tightly, unable to hold back her tears, ”We have to break up tomorrow, I really can’t bear to leave you, I really can’t...”

Chen Nan, who had been managing to hold back, now hearing her heart-breaking voice, also felt his eyes grow moist, ”Silly girl, I can’t bear to leave you either!”

Huo Xinya’s tears flowed, dampening Chen Nan’s clothes, ”If only you weren’t my brother-in-law, how wonderful that would be.”

Chen Nan sighed; their heads together, he said, ”I also wish so much to grow old with you, never to part, but some things seem to be destined, and we are powerless to change them. You are all the most important people in my life, but Yiyi...”

”Don’t say anymore, I understand your feelings,”

Huo Xinya covered his mouth with her hand, shaking her head, ”You wouldn’t betray your wife, and I won’t compete with her for you; perhaps this is what they call ’meant to be but not destined to stay.’”

”It’s tough on you.”

”Not really,” Huo Xinya shook her head, ”You are the person I love most, and my sister is the person I’m closest to. As long as you two are happy, I think there’s nothing more joyful than that.”

”You fool...”

Chen Nan couldn’t help but let tears fall; every word from Huo Xinya tore at his heart.

The two embraced, savoring the brief romance.

Until around eleven o’clock at night, Huo Xinya dozed off, and her tears soaked Chen Nan’s shirt.

Gently picking her up, Chen Nan walked into the room.

That night, he and Huo Xinya slept in each other’s arms.

Holding his beloved in his arms, they both slept soundly.

The next morning, when Chen Nan awoke, it was nearly six o’clock, and he did not know when Huo Xinya, who had been lying in his arms, had gotten up and disappeared.

”Xinxin, Xinxin?”

Chen Nan leapt out of bed anxiously, but upon rushing out of the room, he found that petite figure busily moving about the kitchen and quickly approached, ”Why didn’t you wake me up when you got up?”

”I wanted to make you a breakfast with love.” Huo Xinya turned with a smile, ”Alright, it’s ready now, go wash up and let’s eat.”

Chen Nan felt a warmness in his heart, to love such a girl was a life without regrets.

...

After breakfast, it was almost time to be late.

However, both were reluctant to leave the house because stepping out would be the moment when they would have to part ways.

After embracing tightly for nearly two minutes, Huo Xinya said, ”Can you carry me out, please? Every time I see you carrying Qingqing, I get so envious of her, imagining you carrying me like you carry her, every day.”

Chen Nan nodded, squatted down, and lifted her onto his back, walking step by step out of the front door.

After reaching downstairs, Huo Xinya said, ”Let’s stop here; you need to go retrieve the Jade Lotus Platform.”

Chen Nan stopped.

After hesitating for a moment, he set her down, took her hand, and said, ”From now on, we probably won’t have another chance to hold hands.”

Huo Xinya nodded, ”I will take good care of myself, you... let go.”

Chen Nan held tightly to her hand, unwilling to let go.

Even the coldest and most hardened man shows a fragile side when it comes to emotions.

If before he could restrain his feelings for Huo Xinya, then after yesterday afternoon and last night, he was completely unable to let go of these feelings.

After a moment of silence, Huo Xinya’s face broke into a slight smile and she pulled her hand a little, ”Alright, let go now.”

Chen Nan clung tighter, still shaking his head.

Huo Xinya lifted her head slightly and said, ”To me, you are a gift from heaven. Just having loved is enough, whether it can last forever is secondary.”

Chen Nan was silent for a while, then slowly loosened his hand, ”Then... you go first.”

Huo Xinya nodded, ”You will always be my dear brother-in-law.”

After she spoke, she turned and strode away, but at the moment she turned, the tears that had filled her eyes could no longer be contained.

Although she was young, she was more mature than Chen Nan in dealing with emotions.

When it was time to let go, even if her heart was torn and it felt like arrows piercing through it, she could control herself; even if tears flowed like rivers after turning away, at least—she could restrain herself in front of Chen Nan.

Watching Huo Xinya’s figure disappear into the distance, Chen Nan wiped his eyes and walked towards Su Yixuan’s place; it was time to retrieve the White Jade Lotus Platform.

Just after he left, from behind a nearby wall corner, Su Qingqing stepped out, tears streaming down her face, ”No answer to my calls, no replies to my texts, so you really were with her.”
