School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 443: Chapter 497 Huo Xinya Confesses

Huo Xinya looked at him and seriously said, ”Then you mustn’t lie to people. Last time you also promised me, but you ended up going to Fire Qilin Mountain alone without telling me.”

”Don’t worry, I definitely won’t lie to you this time.”

Chen Nan smiled, reaching out to gently pinch her pretty face.

He should have been happy to reunite with his junior sister apprentice; however, at this moment, he was actually somewhat fearful. He didn’t know how to handle the relationships with other girls.

Seeing Chen Nan frowning, Huo Xinya couldn’t help asking, ”What’s the matter?”

”No... nothing.”

Chen Nan smiled, shaking his head. If he said that he had no feelings at all for Su Qingqing and Han Yuting, that would be impossible. It was just that because of his junior sister apprentice, he had always been unwilling to admit it.

Therefore, he had always maintained a relationship that was somewhere between love and friendship.

But now, his junior sister apprentice was about to return. If he continued to maintain this kind of relationship, he worried that she would be heartbroken if she found out.

Logically speaking, love is supposed to be between two people alone. Chen Nan himself didn’t know why, aside from his junior sister apprentice, he could even have feelings for other girls. Could a person’s love really be divided into many portions?

Is it still love when it extends beyond two people?

Before coming to Ningjiang City, Chen Nan always thought he was very faithful, that he would love only his junior sister apprentice for his entire life.

Yet now, he was wavering in that belief.

Although he had always been reluctant to admit he was fickle, deep in his heart, there was indeed more than just his junior sister apprentice.

”What’s really going on with you? You seem preoccupied,” Huo Xinya pulled at Chen Nan’s clothes, her tone laced with a hint of concern.

Chen Nan snapped back to reality but was still somewhat distracted, shaking his head, ”Nothing, just thinking about some messy things.”

”Your sister is coming back, shouldn’t you be happy? Why do you look so gloomy instead?”

”Do I?”

Chen Nan forced a smile and said, ”Who says I’m gloomy? I’m very happy now!”

”You can’t fool me,” Huo Xinya shook her head and said, ”Your eyes clearly show you’re conflicted. It’s as if I can see your inner struggle; you seem very lost.”

Chen Nan was shocked; Huo Xinya could actually see through his thoughts.

”Not speaking means you agree,” Huo Xinya’s eyes locked onto his as she seriously said, ”Aside from our relationship as brother-in-law and younger aunt, do you still consider me a friend?”

”Of course!”

Chen Nan nodded earnestly.

Huo Xinya gave a slight smile, her smile blooming like a peach blossom, exceptionally enchanting. Although Chen Nan had never seen Xi Shi, he felt that, even if Xi Shi were to come back to life, she couldn’t compare to Huo Xinya at this moment.

After pondering for a while, she said, ”Since we are friends, shouldn’t you tell me what’s on your mind? Let me share some of your burdens?”

Tell you about being fickle, wouldn’t that be like asking for trouble?

Chen Nan hastily shook his head: ”Really, it’s nothing. Don’t think too much.”

”Actually, even if you don’t say it, I know what you’re conflicted about,” Huo Xinya stared into his eyes for a while and said, ”You’ve fallen for someone else, haven’t you?”

”No... no,”

Chen Nan’s heart panicked, and he stammered as he spoke.

He really didn’t understand how Huo Xinya could even notice such a thing. Could a woman’s intuition be so accurate?

”No? Then why won’t you look me in the eye? And why are you talking in such a hesitant manner?” After pondering for a moment, Huo Xinya continued, ”If it’s not that you’ve transferred your affections elsewhere, then it must be that, while loving my sister, you have also developed feelings for another woman, right?”

”I...”

Chen Nan felt more flustered than he had ever been before. He was usually fearless, but at that moment, he couldn’t dare to meet Huo Xinya’s eyes, because he felt guilty.

”Actually, I’ve noticed it for a long time, that your feelings for Qingqing and Yu Ting are more than just friendship.”

Huo Xinya said calmly. It wasn’t that she could really see through Chen Nan’s thoughts; she had always paid attention to his every move, even secretly glancing at him when he spoke to Su Qingqing during class.

Because she liked her brother-in-law, she wanted to know everything related to him.

There was just one thing she hadn’t noticed: sometimes, Chen Nan’s concern for her went beyond the affection of a brother-in-law for his sister-in-law. Perhaps it was true that love could blind those who were in the midst of it.

”I’ve already said it out loud, won’t you admit it?” Huo Xinya said, ”Don’t worry, as long as you can keep things under control and don’t mess around with other women like you did yesterday, I won’t tell my sister, because I don’t want to see her heartbroken.”

Chen Nan looked at her, ”You’re not angry?”

”What do I have to be angry about? I just feel that my sister doesn’t deserve this, because with a fickle guy like you, she almost lost her life.”

After a moment of silence, Chen Nan nodded, ”You’re right, what I owe Yiyi, I can never repay in this lifetime.”

”I understand my sister. She never thought about asking you to repay her. As long as you treat her well in the future, she will be content,” Huo Xinya looked at him and said, ”Can you do that?”

Chen Nan gritted his teeth, ”I can!”

In his mind, if he couldn’t treat the woman who had been so kind to him well, was he even human?

”I hope you can live up to your words and not flirt around anymore.” After a moment of silence, Huo Xinya looked down and said, ”Now, can I ask you for a favor?”

Chen Nan was taken aback for a moment, then laughed, ”What do you mean by asking? If there’s anything, just say it, your matters are my matters. If it’s within my power, I’ll definitely get it done; even if it’s not, I’ll try my best to accomplish it.”

Hearing Chen Nan agree so readily, Huo Xinya felt a sigh of relief in her heart.

But as soon as she thought about the issue at hand, she became anxious again, ”Well... I... actually, what I want to say is...”

Seeing her blush and stammer for quite a while without getting to the point, Chen Nan frowned and asked, ”What’s the matter? Is there anything you can’t say in front of me?”

”I... well...”

Huo Xinya’s heart pounded furiously, feeling extremely awkward.

But thinking that if she missed this opportunity, she would never get another chance, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes, bowed her head, and said, ”Can... can you be my boyfriend?”

”What?”

Chen Nan almost fell flat on the ground.

Hadn’t she just been saying that he should be wholeheartedly devoted to his junior sister? How come in the blink of an eye, she was trying to undermine her own sister?

Considering Huo Xinya’s character, she wouldn’t normally do something like this, right? Besides, his junior sister was her own sister.

Seeing her with her head down, not daring to even open her eyes, Chen Nan asked, ”Are you... not joking?”
