King of the Wilderness

Chapter 649: Chapter 317: Ancestral Homeland

Director Zhang is about fifty years old, slightly chubby, wearing black-framed glasses, looking gentle and elegant, filled with a scholarly aura.

Upon meeting Lin Yu’an, he enthusiastically grasped his hand, his face beaming with genuine appreciation.

”Welcome home, Comrade Yu’an!”

This word ’Comrade’ gave Lin Yu’an a sense of long-lost familiarity.

The atmosphere of the dinner was relaxed yet lively.

The table was filled with various dishes distinctive to Yunnan, from steam pot chicken to crossing-the-bridge noodles, from wild mushroom hotpot to Xuanwei ham...

Aliya and Emily tasted such a rich variety of Chinese dishes for the first time, their taste buds completely conquered, full of praise.

After a few rounds of drinks and dishes, Director Zhang put down his chopsticks, looked at Lin Yu’an, and finally broached the real topic.

His tone was filled with expectations for the future.

”Yu’an, that program concept of yours, Wenbin and I, along with a few experts from the department, have studied it several times. We unanimously believe it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!”

”So, before the detailed discussion at tomorrow’s meeting, I’d like to first hear your thoughts briefly.”

Lin Yu’an sincerely looked at Zhang Chengzhi and Liang Wenbin, knowing they had finally reached the main topic of this meal.

His tone was full of respect, ”Director Zhang, Uncle Liang, let me briefly report my initial ideas for this filming project back in China.”

Zhang Chengzhi and Liang Wenbin exchanged a glance, both making a gesture of invitation with great interest. Clearly, they were more inclined to first hear the thoughts of this ’God of Wealth.’

Lin Yu’an did not engage in formalities, he directly dove into the core: ”My concept can be summed up in two words—ultimate reality and global resonance.”

”First, it’s ultimate reality.” Lin Yu’an’s voice became steady and powerful, ”I hope this program will return to the pure essence of survival.”

”Just like what I did in ’Alone in the Wilderness,’ where I carry all the filming equipment myself, alone entering the challenge area to document the most real, immersive, and uninhibited experience of solitary survival.”

”Alone?” This proposal made Liang Wenbin momentarily stunned, ”You mean... no production team following? Then what about safety and filming quality...”

”The safety issue, I will handle with the most professional equipment and logistical support,” Lin Yu’an explained, ”And filming quality is precisely the greatest advantage of this mode.”

”It can capture the most authentic emotional expressions and innate survival wisdom of a person facing nature. I believe this extreme sense of reality is the core charm of this type of program, and it’s what truly moves a global audience.”

He saw the thoughtful and slightly doubtful expressions on the faces of the two leaders, and immediately threw out his second trump card.

”Of course, to realize this mode and launch it globally, I need the top-notch partners. So before I decided to return to China, I had already set up the preliminary platform with my agency CAA.”

He paused, each word powerful: ”Currently, Discovery Channel has confirmed to be the joint producer and exclusive global television distributor for the program, while TikTok and YouTube have also reached strategic cooperation with us.”

These words, like a bombshell, instantly opened up Zhang Chengzhi’s line of thought! He immediately realized that what Lin Yu’an brought was not merely a simple filming intention but an already constructed international top project ready to be launched!

With Discovery Channel endorsing the program quality, followed by TikTok’s massive explosion worldwide... this combination punch is even more perfect than their initial conception of a Sino-foreign co-production!

Lin Yu’an did not give them much time to be shocked and continued to present the reassurance he had prepared for Yunnan.

”Director Zhang, I know what you’re most concerned about is undoubtedly what this program can bring to Yunnan. Therefore, I’ve designed a special theme for the first stop, the Yunnan Chapter, ’Secret Realm Yunnan: From Human Fireworks to the Wilderness Heart.’”

”I want to showcase to the global audience not those symbolic tags like Lijiang and Dali that tourists are already familiar with, but a more three-dimensional, mysterious, and exploratory-worthy Yunnan.”

He extended two fingers, clearly articulating: ”My concept is divided into two core parts, a love letter to the world, and an ultimate solitary expedition.”

”First, this love letter is a 30-minute pilot film. Before entering the wilderness alone, I will first act as a guide and narrator, leading the global audience in an immersive exploration of Yunnan’s human fireworks.”

”Allowing them to understand what kind of splendid civilization this land I’m about to challenge has nurtured.”

The imagery he portrayed was vivid: ”My journey starts from Kunming. I’ll walk into Asia’s largest Dou Nan Flower Market, stroll along the morning banks of Cui Lake, introducing to the world those red-beaked gulls that travel thousands of miles to dance with the citizens.”

”I’ll tell of the leisurely pace and ease of this Spring City, sitting in the most authentic street-side diner, fully presenting the ceremonial sense of a bowl of crossing-the-bridge noodles from raw to cooked, ensuring that this extreme freshness is transmitted to the world through the lens.”

”Then, from Kunming, I’ll head south to Jianshui Ancient City to showcase those centuries-old wells and tofu workshops, experiencing the inheritance of ancient techniques.”

”I’ll also go to Yuanyang Rice Terraces, delving into the villages of the Hani People, exploring the great wisdom of thousands of years of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature carved on the Earth.”

”This pilot film will be my personal journey of civilization tracing, filled with respect for the humanities, curiosity for culture, and a passion for food on this piece of land.”

”It will be pre-distributed globally through TikTok and YouTube platforms. It’s not just to build momentum for the program, but to give Kunming its first gift—an invitation to the world brimming with stories and warmth.”

”And when the global audience is deeply attracted by the civilization and warmth of this land, our second part—the ultimate solitary expedition—will officially commence.”

”At the end of the pilot film, the camera will follow me, bidding farewell to the city lights and the hustle and bustle of human world, alone carrying my backpack, entering the true secret realm—the virgin forest of Ailao Mountain.”

”Switching from the busiest human world to the ultimate solitude. This intense contrast itself has unparalleled dramatic tension.”

”In the challenge, I will share all my discoveries in that mysterious jungle—those peculiar plants never seen before the camera, encounters with wild animals, how I use local materials to build shelters...”

”I want to make sure that while the global audience follows my survival, they develop the strongest curiosity and reverence for this land.”

Lin Yu’an concluded, ”In the end, what we aim to do is to collectively shape a new brand image for Yunnan, which possesses both the warm and inclusive human world and the mysterious and primitive natural secret realm, worthy of you coming to experience the depth of civilization.”

These words, progressing layer by layer, were vivid and tangible, containing both compassionate human care and precise communication strategies.

They completely dispelled the last traces of doubt in Zhang Chengzhi and Liang Wenbin’s hearts regarding the ”promotional effect.”

What they saw was a conception far beyond expectations, enough to let the world reassess Yunnan.
