King of the Wilderness

Chapter 448: Chapter 247: Seizing the Initiative

Lin Yu’an’s eyebrows subtly lifted; he knew what was inevitable had finally arrived. He picked up a napkin, wiped his mouth, and then, unhurriedly, walked over to his desk, pressed the answer button, and turned on the speakerphone.

On the other end, an extremely earnest, even slightly humble, German-accented voice spoke in English: ”May I speak to Mr. Lin Yu’an, please? I am Marcus Weber, Global Marketing Director of the Archaeopteryx brand. I apologize for intruding at this time.”

”This is he.” Lin Yu’an’s voice was calm and steady. He pulled out a chair and sat down gracefully, as if simply addressing a routine business inquiry.

”Hello, Mr. Lin.” Marcus spoke with great solemnity.

”First of all, on behalf of the Archaeopteryx brand, I offer the sincerest apologies for the erroneous information previously relayed to you through third-party channels. It was a foolish misjudgment based on outdated data and bureaucratic processes. We bear undeniable responsibility for it.”

His posture was remarkably humble, straightforwardly owning up to the mistake without any excuses—a smart introduction.

Lin Yu’an didn’t speak, just listened quietly, allowing the other person to perform. He understood this was just the appetizer.

Marcus, on the other end of the phone, seemed to feel the composure from the silence. He took a deep breath, and suddenly, his tone transformed!

No longer filled with apologetic humility, but rather full of strength, passion, and a grand vision, as though he wasn’t on a call but addressing global media with a brand declaration!

”Mr. Lin! I’m not sure if you’re aware, but within Archaeopteryx, there’s a term—we call it ’Alpha’ (Alpha!)”

His voice echoed clearly and powerfully through the cabin via satellite signal.

”It represents not just our top-tier series, but a spirit! A spirit of leadership standing at the forefront, braving fierce storms, climbing the most treacherous peaks, and paving the way for those behind!”

”In the past few days and nights, all our designers, engineers, and marketing staff at headquarters have repeatedly watched your masterpiece!”

”What we saw wasn’t just exquisite craftsmanship; we saw the perfect embodiment of that ’Alpha’ spirit!”

”And your decisiveness when cutting down the first giant tree in the glaring sun of the polar day! Your resilience when shielding the newly built structure with your body during the blizzard’s arrival!”

”In the aurora-lit night, as you ignited the first furnace for your finished home, the quiet pride of a creator in your eyes!”

”Mr. Lin!” Marcus’s voice was impassioned and rousing, ”The spirit you exhibit of harmonious coexistence with nature while constantly challenging limits has deeply shaken our entire team!”

”You are the living Alpha walking the Alaska wilderness! You are undoubtedly the perfect candidate to represent Archaeopteryx’s pursuit of excellence!”

”Therefore!” He finally revealed the true purpose, his voice akin to a rally before battle, ”We, the Archaeopteryx brand, with the most sincere and respectful attitude, formally invite you to become our new global brand ambassador for the year 2022!”

”We hope to complete legendary routes together with you!”

”For instance, going to Patagonia to challenge the godly finger-like rock walls of Fitz Roy Peak! Experience the harsh breaths of the savage giant mountain at K2’s southern ridge!”

”We even wish to stand with you at the peak of the World—at Mount Everest’s summit, allowing the Archaeopteryx fossil to glow resplendently at 8848 meters, facing the sunrise!”

The blueprint he painted was grand and moving, full of ultimate tribute to professional spirit and extreme adventure.

Such words could make any man still burning with dreams of exploration feel his blood boil and heart race!

If it were a few days ago, such a top-level contract, descending from the sky filled with heroism, would have thrilled any content creator.

But now, Lin Yu’an merely listened calmly, a playful smile tugging at his lips. He even had the leisure to gesture for Emily, who was looking at him with awe and curiosity in the living room, to stay calm.

After the other’s impassioned speech finally concluded, Lin Yu’an slowly spoke, his voice soft yet as steady and unwavering as the glaciers of Alaska: ”Mr. Weber, thank you for your invitation. Your speech was impressive.”

He paused, then shifted, ”However, as you mentioned, it was a ’foolish misjudgment.’” He returned the other’s words unchanged.

”Some opportunities are based on specific time and trust. Trust, once broken, is hard to recover.” His tone remained calm, yet the refusal in his words pierced through the phone like an icicle.

”So I think I might have other options now.”

He neither directly rejected nor agreed, but firmly grasped the right to choose in his own hands.

The other end of the line fell into a long silence, clearly unprepared for such direct bluntness.

Marcus could feel clearly that he faced not an influencer thrilled by unexpected wealth, but a calm, rational, even somewhat merciless negotiating opponent.
