King of the Wilderness

Chapter 445: Chapter 246: The Explosive Chain Reaction!

Aliya’s reaction was even more intense, a look of disbelief burst from her light green eyes as she grabbed Lin Yu’an’s arm, her voice changed in pitch.

”Dear! Do you know what this means? It’s Justin Bieber! Two hundred million followers! You... you’re going to be famous! You’re really going to be famous!”

She was so excited that she hugged Olivia and spun around on the spot, making the little one giggle uncontrollably.

”It’s more than just fame, Aliya.” Emily’s voice, however, was unusually calm at that moment.

She turned her gaze to Lin Yu’an: ”This means you no longer have to compromise for any business contract, no longer need to care about the faces of any platform or brand side.”

”You’ve obtained true, absolute freedom! You can shoot anything you want, live any life you want! He has given you a ticket to financial freedom!”

Yes, freedom. Isn’t that the ultimate goal they pursued, leaving everything behind to come to this icy land of Alaska?

Outside the window, the Alaskan sun finally broke free from the constraints of the horizon, casting brighter light over the entire snowy plain.

Lin Yu’an looked at the text on the screen, then at the excited Aliya with flushed cheeks and Emily with eyes bright as stars beside him.

And those two kids who were completely unaware of the earthquake that had just shaken their world. The surreal feeling brought about by the explosion of data was replaced by an overwhelmingly solid and warm emotion.

That former Bilibili exclusive contract, that soon-to-expire Archaeopteryx ambassador status, at this moment, all seemed so insignificant.

A door he never imagined was suddenly flung open by a torrent of data traffic.

And there he was, quietly sitting in the eye of the storm with his family, preparing to enjoy a blissful breakfast.

December 28, Vancouver, Arc’teryx Global Headquarters

Nestled at the foot of the Coast Mountains, the Ancestor Bird Headquarters building was renowned for its tranquil, focused design atmosphere. But today, the atmosphere in the top-floor conference room was as heavy as before a snowstorm in Alaska.

The global marketing director, a German named Marcus Weber, stood with a steel-blue face in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the gloomy Burrard Inlet outside.

Behind him, several senior executives from the marketing, public relations, and legal departments sat upright, not daring to even take a deep breath.

In the center of the conference room, the holographic projection was looping three things:

1. Justin Bieber’s Instagram post, which had already broken thirty million likes and over a million comments.

2. Lin Yu’an’s YouTube channel backend’s so-called ”miraculous” data curve—a nearly vertical growth line, labeled ”Total Views: 81.47 million+,” ”Subscribers: 1.51 million+.”

3. A deliberately enlarged photograph, showing Lin Yu’an wearing a classic Archaeopteryx Alpha SV hard shell jacket, standing in front of an unfinished cabin, with the Archaeopteryx fossil logo on the jacket’s chest clearly visible in the Alaskan sunlight.

”Can anyone explain to me.” Marcus slowly turned around, his voice as icy as the mountain’s peak wind.

”Why, this man who became the most sought-after ’hardcore idol’ overnight, this man who is performing ’textbook-level’ brand promotion for us for free, the latest assessment we gave him is insufficient commercial exposure, not to renew the contract?”

The conference room was dead silent, and at this moment, the phrase ”not to renew” sounded like a death sentence.

The Greater China Region’s marketing head, a middle-aged white man, spoke up with difficulty: ”Marcus, this assessment was... was submitted last month through our partner platform Bilibili in China.”

”Based on the data at the time... Mr. Lin had not updated for nearly half a year, and there was no exposure in mainstream media, so...”

”So you just gave up?” Marcus interrupted him, a hint of dangerously calmness in his tone.

”So you believed that a man who could build a log cabin alone in the Alaskan wilderness, a creator who could earn praise from the most discerning hardcore outdoor community, his value is equal to the numbers on his social media that didn’t move for a few months?”

He walked to the conference table, propping his hands on the surface and leaning forward, his blue eyes like a hawk scanning each person present.

”Ladies and gentlemen, you have made a catastrophic mistake. One that will make us a laughingstock in the entire industry for the next few decades! You’re going to write our brand into the worst business marketing case histories!!!”

He picked up the remote control and switched the projection screen.

”Justin Bieber’s recommendation granted Lin Yu’an global exposure overnight, something our tens of millions of dollars marketing budget might not achieve!”

”His name and image are now firmly associated with hardcore, authenticity, art, and top-tier traffic recognition, these labels.”

”More importantly, the target demographic!” He was almost roaring, ”How many young and middle-class people with high spending power are in Bieber’s fanbase?”

”This is exactly the urban outdoor and trend market we have invested heavily in recent years to conquer! And now, you fools have thrown the key to this market into the trash!!!”

The PR department’s female head turned pale, her voice trembling as she added: ”Marcus... the situation could be worse, some voices are already appearing on social media... with the headline: ’Arc’teryx abandoned the man chosen by Justin Bieber.’
