World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Evan walked deeper into the forest. He wasn’t wandering around without knowing where he had to go.

Since he wanted to test his strength against a Rank One magical beast, he was once again heading toward the same location where he had fought against the Steel Bear last time.

Last time, he had immediately run away from the second bear because he had suspected it to be a Rank One magical beast.

At that time, his strength wasn’t enough to face that Rank One bear.

However, now that he had reached Level 20 and evolved one of his skills, his strength had increased greatly.

That bear was the perfect opponent for him to test his current strength.

Considering it was still within the outer zone of the Dark Forest even after becoming a Rank One magical beast, it could be assumed that among Rank One magical beasts, its level wasn’t very high.

If its level was high enough, it would have ventured deep into the Dark Forest long ago, as that area had a lot more resources for its growth.

Moreover, judging from the amount of time it had taken that bear to reach the fighting location even after hearing the cry for help from the first bear, it could be assumed that its Agility wasn’t very high.

So even if the bear turned out to be stronger than he had imagined, Evan would be able to escape from it with his current Agility.

Thinking of this, he felt reassured and increased his speed.

Around half an hour later, Evan suddenly stopped and looked to his right.

Through his Wind Detection, he could feel that something big was coming toward him.

Although he couldn’t clearly perceive the aura of the approaching magical beast because his mastery over Wind Detection wasn’t that high, he could hear the violent heartbeat of the beast through the flowing wind.

From the strength of its heartbeat, he was certain that this magical beast was stronger than the Alpha Wolf.

Ten seconds after Evan detected its presence, the thick trees ahead of him rumbled slightly, and a giant green humanoid creature emerged from behind them.

Evan was startled when he saw the humanoid creature, but he quickly recognized it as an Orc.

After mana came into the world, new creatures such as goblins, orcs, and many other humanoid beasts also started to appear all over the planet.

However, these humanoid creatures were rarely found outside dungeons.

Because of their special constitution, Orcs couldn’t use mana to cast spells or skills like other creatures.

But this didn’t mean that they were weak.

Even though they couldn’t use skills or spells, the physical power of Orcs was extremely high.

Even a newly born Orc had at least 30 points of Strength. On top of that, despite not being able to use mana to cast spells or skills, they could still use it to strengthen their bodies to an unimaginable level.

The Orc that appeared in front of Evan was Level 25 and stood around three meters tall. Its body was covered in bulging muscles, and despite the evolution of his Hardening Skill, Evan was sure that the Orc in front of him had a higher Strength stat than him.

But even after knowing that his Strength stat was lower than the Orc’s, Evan wasn’t afraid of it because all of his other stats completely surpassed those of the Orc.

Evan looked straight into the Orc’s deep yellow eyes. Each time the Orc breathed out, steam came from its nostrils.

’With my current stats, a Level 25 magical beast won’t even make me break a sweat...’

Evan thought, and without waiting for the monster to attack, he took the initiative.

In an instant, he created a Wind Blade and shot it toward the Orc.

The speed and attack power of the Wind Blade were very different compared to the past. The more Evan used the Wind Monarch skill, the more proficient he became at bringing out its full potential.

Although the Orc saw the Wind Blade coming toward it, its body was too slow to evade the attack.

The Wind Blade reached the Orc in an instant and struck it right in the chest, leaving a deep wound as green blood flowed out.

ROAR!

The Orc let out a painful scream, but the next second, its eyes widened in fear.

Evan didn’t stop after shooting the Wind Blade. Immediately after launching it toward the Orc, he activated Wind Aura and rushed toward the Orc as well.

With the help of Wind Aura and his terrifyingly high Agility, Evan reached the Orc at the same time as the Wind Blade struck it.

He appeared behind the monster and swung his sword toward its neck.

Before the Orc could react, Black Star, enveloped in Wind Aura and empowered by Evan’s 175 Strength, struck the Orc’s neck with lightning speed.

RIP!

The blade cut halfway through the Orc’s neck as a gush of blood erupted from the wound.

Even with his full strength, Evan wasn’t able to kill the Orc with a single strike, showing just how strong the Orc’s body was.

But it didn’t matter.

Immediately after the first strike, Evan slashed at the Orc’s neck once again, and before it could even let out another painful roar, its head was severed from the rest of its body.

[You have killed an Unranked Orc — Level 25. You have acquired: +10 Agility, +10 Stamina.]

From the moment the Orc appeared to the moment it died, only five seconds had passed.

A Level 25 Orc was dead before it even realized what had happened. It hadn’t even gotten the chance to counterattack or defend itself.

Evan looked at the notification and couldn’t help but sigh when he saw the number of stat points he had received from the Orc, even though it was stronger than the Alpha Wolf.

However, he was now even more confident about facing a Rank One magical beast.

He had just killed a peak Unranked monster without even using his full strength, so he was now sure that he could put up a good fight against a Rank One magical beast.

Evan looked around the Orc’s body to see if he had obtained anything, but he didn’t find anything.

He wasn’t surprised by this because the Orc was much weaker than him.

After looking at the Orc’s body one last time, he continued his journey toward the Steel Bear’s location.

Evan encountered a few magical beasts on his way, but all of their levels were lower than the Orc he had just killed.

Knowing that it would be a waste of time to fight against them, he simply ignored them and continued on his way.

When he was not far away from the Steel Bear’s location, Evan suddenly paused and looked to the side with a confused expression.

”Someone is fighting out there?” He muttered under his breath as he heard the sound of swords clashing somewhere nearby through the flowing wind.

Evan didn’t expect to encounter other humans here, so he thought for a moment before walking toward the sound of the clashing swords with a curious look.

Nothing else. He just wanted to see how strong other Evolvers really were.

Other than his grandparents, who were far too strong for him to even guess what their levels were, Evan had never seen other Core Evolvers fighting before, so he really wanted to see one.

The closer Evan got to the location, the louder the sound of the swords clashing became.

After walking for about a three minute, he finally saw who was fighting.

Hiding behind a tree, Evan looked ahead at a small clearing and was surprised to see two men fighting against a boy and a girl.

Both the boy and the girl were injured and desperately fighting against the two men.

’Aren’t they the two people I met outside the Dark Forest...?’

Evan raised an eyebrow as he recognized the duo.

Currently, both of them were fighting against the two men, and judging by the situation, Evan was sure that they couldn’t hold on much longer.

Evan had simply come there to see other Evolvers fighting and had no intention of getting involved in things that were not related to him.

However, when he heard what the men attacking the duo said, his expression changed slightly, and killing intent flashed in his eyes.
