World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

”So, it’s finally time, huh...” A low, heavy voice belonging to an old man faintly echoed through a dark room.

”Do we really need to discuss this with the lights turned off? Are you trying to act like a cheap villain again?” A gentle female voice echoed amid the darkness, sounding completely out of place compared to the heavy, ominous atmosphere surrounding the room.

”We need to prepare everything before he sets off,” The old man completely ignored the question and spoke once again in the same heavy voice.

For a second, even the furniture in the room began to tremble, appearing as though it was shaking because of how heavy his voice was.

The eyes of the woman who had spoken earlier shifted slightly, and even in the darkness, she could see several thin wires tied to the furniture.

The old man was secretly holding those wires and using them to shake the furniture throughout the room.

’His strange Class really messed up his mind...’ The woman thought with a sigh.

Planet Zarth had once been an ordinary planet. However, two centuries ago, a blue light enveloped the entire world, and a mysterious voice echoed in the minds of every person.

[The world has met the minimum requirements to be included in the Source Seed Plan. Awakening the surrounding mana of the planet.]

After the voice faded, everyone was left confused about what had just happened. But before they could process it, the entire planet was struck by a massive earthquake.

The next second, the air in the surrounding environment became much purer.

Whenever people inhaled and exhaled, they felt refreshed, as though every cell within their bodies was cheering with joy.

This was because mana had awakened on the planet, and every breath they took now contained a small amount of mana.

A status window appeared before every person who was at least fifteen years old. Through this status window, everyone could see their stat points, along with various pieces of information about themselves.

From that day onward, everything on Planet Zarth changed.

Mana transformed not only humanity but the environment itself. Landscapes across the entire planet changed drastically. Not only humans, but plants, beasts, birds, and every other living creature on the planet began to evolve.

At the same time, countless dungeons of various types started appearing all over the planet.

People could enter these dungeons and obtain countless treasures and opportunities. However, they were also extremely dangerous, as conquering a dungeon was far from easy.

Only after turning fifteen could people awaken their status windows and begin evolving, because the human body before the age of fifteen was too weak to withstand large amounts of mana.

Before turning fifteen, people could strengthen their bodies by eating low-level magical beast meat, consuming rare herbs, or drinking special potions.

However, all of these methods had their limits because as time passed, the body gradually developed resistance to them, reducing their effectiveness.

Moreover, before beginning their evolution, people could not consume the meat of very high-ranking magical beasts because it contained an overwhelming amount of mana that an unevolved body simply could not endure.

Just as the old couple was talking among themselves, the door to the dark room suddenly opened.

”Old man, why the hell do you always turn off the lights and sit in a dark room while talking? Do you really want to become one of those villains from old movies who always sit in dark rooms while planning how to get rid of the hero?”

From the boy’s voice, it was clear that he was irritated by the darkness.

The next moment, someone turned on the lights.

As the room lit up, the old man looked at the boy who had turned them on and spoke with a serious expression.

”Evan, you should understand that I was trying to recreate the legendary scene from the movie We All Are Villains, where the main villain shows concern for his grandson, who is about to leave him to study in a faraway place.”

”And after his grandson leaves, the main villain sends an assassin to kill him because the grandson once called him an idiot when he was two years old, right?” Evan said with a deadpan expression.

Alfred coughed awkwardly before saying.

”Well... that’s the essence of being a villain. You can’t show mercy to anyone. What do you think would happen if people found out that the villain everyone feared didn’t do anything to his grandson even after being called an idiot?”

’But the villain was the only one who knew that his grandson had called him an idiot. That poor grandchild didn’t even remember saying those things when he was two years old.’

Evan kept those thoughts to himself because he had no intention of arguing with his grandfather, who loved acting like a movie villain.

Alfred had dark hair, black eyes, and stood around one hundred ninety centimeters tall. He had a muscular build, and although he looked to be in his early sixties, his body was full of vitality.

Evan turned his head slightly, and his attention shifted toward the old woman.

She was his grandmother, Venisa.

She had brown hair, green eyes, and a gentle, kind face. Even though she looked to be in her sixties, her skin remained smooth and free of wrinkles.

Seeing that Alfred and Evan had finally stopped their ridiculous conversation, she smiled gently and said.

”Welcome back.”

”I am back, Grandma,” Evan replied with a smile before sitting down on the chair beside her.

Evan had black hair, ocean-blue eyes, and an above-average appearance. He wasn’t ugly, but he wasn’t particularly handsome either. He stood around one hundred seventy centimeters tall and was still growing since he had only recently turned fifteen.

”How was your training?” Venisa asked.

”It went quite well for my first day,” Evan replied tiredly as he displayed his status window for his grandparents.

Seeing Evan’s status window, both of his grandparents smiled.

On Planet Zarth, an average adult possessed ten points in each stat before beginning their evolution. For Evan, who had only just turned fifteen, to possess such impressive stats meant that he was both incredibly gifted and exceptionally hardworking.

A person could only access their status window after turning fifteen. Before reaching that age, neither the status window nor the path of evolution could be unlocked.

Evan’s physical stats were already impressive considering his training and everything he had consumed throughout the years.

But when he turned fifteen yesterday and his grandparents saw his Mana and Magic attributes for the first time, both of them were stunned.

An average adult possessed only ten points in both Mana and Magic before evolving, yet Evan had almost nine times that amount, which was truly astonishing.

From the very beginning, they had known that Evan was not an ordinary child because of the many strange incidents that had occurred throughout his life.

But after seeing his status window the previous night, they were still deeply shocked.

”By the way, are you sure you want to go to the academy? I am not bragging, but your grandmother and I are far better than the people who teach there,” Alfred suddenly said.

”Grandpa, you already know that learning isn’t the main reason I am going there,” Evan said with a shake of his head.

”Tch! What’s so good about going out and traveling the world? Isn’t sitting in a dark room and planning how to destroy the world much more fun?”

’It’s because of this way of thinking that I want to go to the academy...’ Evan thought inwardly, the corner of his eye twitching.

Venisa ignored the two idiots who couldn’t keep their mouths shut and after taking a closer look at Evan’s status window, a surprised expression appeared on her face.

Normally, people increased their stat points by hunting magical beasts and leveling up. Improving one’s stats through meditation and physical exercise alone was incredibly difficult.

When she had seen Evan’s status window yesterday, his Mana stat had been 95.

But now it was 96, meaning that just a few hours of meditation had increased his Mana by one point, indicating that his affinity with mana was exceptionally high.

”Although your stat points are excellent for a Level 0 Evolver, since you want to join the academy, you still need to increase your level before it begins and obtain your first Job Class. Everyone who enrolls there will be quite powerful,” Venisa said after examining Evan’s status window.

”I know. I will be going to the Dark Forest tomorrow for training. The academy starts in two months, so I’ll spend the next month training in the forest,” Evan explained.

Neither Alfred nor Venisa looked surprised upon hearing this, as they had already expected him to make such a decision.

”I understand, but you must stay in the outer region of the Dark Forest. You are not allowed to venture into the inner areas. The magical beasts living deeper inside are far stronger than those in the outer region, and you are nowhere near strong enough to fight them yet,” Amala warned.

”Of course. That’s exactly what I was planning to do. I am not a reckless person like a certain guy. ,” Evan replied while giving a certain old man a sidelong glance.

”Alright. Go take a bath. Dinner is ready. After eating, go to bed early because, starting tomorrow, you won’t be getting much proper sleep,” Venisa said with a shake of her head as she watched Evan leave.

After Evan left the room, Venisa looked at Alfred and asked,

”Have you brought out that thing?”

Alfred nodded before asking.

”Are you sure we should give that thing to him? You know that it’s not normal, right?”

”That thing belongs to him, so we should naturally hand it over to him. Just because it’s a bit abnormal doesn’t mean we should keep it away from him,” Venisa said calmly.

Alfred shook his head and didn’t argue any further.

Unaware of his grandparents’ conversation, Evan returned to his room after taking a bath and having dinner with them.

He lay down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling.

’I can finally start evolving tomorrow.’
