The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Obstruction

Upon hearing Gu Tingyu’s words, Yiyi promptly nodded and said, ”Okay.”

”I’ll go distract them first. If you get the chance, sneak into the room on the east side and take a look.” After what just happened, Gu Tingyu had a renewed understanding of Yiyi’s capabilities and was more comfortable with her handling certain tasks.

”Okay.”

After Gu Tingyu left, Yiyi carefully listened for any sounds outside. When the time seemed right, she quietly slipped out the door and headed east.

The room to the east wasn’t much different from the one they were staying in, except that the door was locked. But that didn’t pose a problem for Yiyi; she pulled out a thin wire and unlocked the door.

”Click...”

In no time, Yiyi had unlocked the door and pushed it open.

The lighting inside was very dim, and it took Yiyi a moment to adjust before she could see the room’s interior. As soon as she spotted a shadow lying on the ground, she rushed over, ”Mrs. Song, Mrs. Song?”

On the way here, Gu Tingyu had told her everything, and she finally understood that the person they needed to rescue was Mrs. Song.

Mrs. Song’s husband held a high-ranking position, and she herself was an outstanding translator, admired by many women. Who would have thought she’d be kidnapped like this?

Seeing no response from her, Yiyi quickly turned her over. When she saw Mrs. Song’s face was pale, she panicked and checked her breathing; fortunately, she was still breathing. Not daring to delay, Yiyi immediately took out a medicine pill and placed it into Mrs. Song’s mouth.

The medicine pill dissolved instantly, improving Mrs. Song’s previously pale complexion significantly.

”Mrs. Song... Mrs. Song...”

Yiyi called softly, growing more anxious by the moment.

Rescuing someone was difficult enough; if Mrs. Song couldn’t move at all, it would be even harder for them to get out.

”Mmm...”

Just as Yiyi was about to give her another pill, Mrs. Song slowly woke up.

”Who... who are you?”

”I’m here to rescue you. How do you feel now?”

Upon hearing Yiyi’s words, Song Xiaoqing felt energized and looked intently at Yiyi, asking, ”You... are really here to save me?”

”Yes, I came with Gu Tingyu.”

Upon hearing Gu Tingyu’s name, Song Xiaoqing no longer had any doubts but couldn’t help asking, ”Where is Tingyu then? Where is he?”

”He went to distract them so I could come in and rescue you.”

Song Xiaoqing frowned upon seeing Yiyi’s frail figure, saying, ”Young lady, it’s very dangerous right now. You should leave quickly and wait for Tingyu to come; if they find you here, it won’t end well.”

”Mrs. Song, let’s leave quickly while no one’s around. Otherwise, once others return, we won’t be able to get out.”

Song Xiaoqing hesitated. She felt weak all over, and the little girl looked frail too. Could the two of them really make it out?

While Song Xiaoqing hesitated, a stern voice came from outside: ”You’re not going anywhere today.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi turned back to see that Cousin Qin had returned.

At this moment, Qin Mei was looking at Yiyi with a stern face, ”Who exactly are you?”

Yiyi stood up slowly at the sound of this, looking angrily at Qin Mei and said, ”Auntie, why is someone locked in my house? Didn’t you say the other rooms couldn’t be occupied? Turns out you were lying to me, using this empty room to imprison people. Do you know that’s against the law?”

”Hmph... don’t call me Auntie, you’re not Wan’er at all. You’re pretending to be Wan’er to save someone. Now, tell me who you really are.”

Yiyi’s face turned cold.

”Auntie, I am Wan’er; I didn’t see you earlier, so I was looking everywhere for you. I ended up finding this woman locked up instead. Who is she, and why did you kidnap her?”

Qin Mei was nearly amused by Yiyi’s counter-accusation.

”Your words are full of holes, do you think I’ll believe you? Let alone how you managed to unlock the door, the fact you’re standing here is an issue. I spiked the food with a strong drug earlier, but you’re fine; I suspect your brother is too. No wonder someone suddenly barged in earlier to lure the guards away; it must have been your brother.”

Yiyi didn’t reply and instead slowly approached Qin Mei.

Seeing Yiyi’s actions, Qin Mei let out a mocking laugh.

”Do you really think you can escape?” With that, she clapped her hands, and a group of burly men stormed in from outside, ”Take down this young girl.”

Upon seeing this group of people, Yiyi’s expression turned tense. She hadn’t expected Gu Tingyu wouldn’t distract anyone and instead led to their exposure. But now that things had progressed this far, she couldn’t back down and had to move forward.

With her mind made up, Yiyi charged forward and immediately brought down the man in front of her.

”Bang...”

The loud noise shocked everyone, revealing that Yiyi, just a young girl, managed to take her opponent down with one move.

Qin Mei’s face turned somber.

”I didn’t expect that little girl to be trained, but even with your skills, you’ll stay here today.”

Song Xiaoqing relaxed slightly, seeing Yiyi wasn’t captured, but Qin Mei’s words deflated her mood again. The enemy had so many men while Yiyi was just a young girl—surely she couldn’t beat them.

But just as Song Xiaoqing became discouraged, Yiyi yelled, ”Watch out for the poison!”

Everyone was momentarily stunned by Yiyi’s shout, but then burst out laughing when they realized.

”This young girl is really naive, that’s not how you scare people.”

However, just as Qin Mei finished speaking, the group of burly men began to groan one after another and eventually collapsed on the floor.

Seeing this, a smile crept onto Yiyi’s lips. ”I warned you, but you didn’t believe me.” She had made the poison by chance earlier, not expecting it to come in handy today. Initially, she considered drugging the guards, but there were hostages, so she couldn’t act rashly. Now that Song Xiaoqing was behind her, she had no more qualms.

Qin Mei had inhaled some of the powder, leaving her weak and barely able to stand. ”What... what poison did you use on us?”

Yiyi ignored her, helping Song Xiaoqing up, ”Mrs. Song, let’s get out of here quickly.”

Song Xiaoqing looked at Yiyi with bright eyes, surprised by the girl’s resourcefulness, thinking they might actually escape today.

Qin Mei tried to stop them but was too weak to get up. However, her face showed no regret, instead twisted in a grin, ”You won’t get out of here. Even if we don’t stop you, there are others who will.”

Yiyi initially disregarded her words, but as she helped Song Xiaoqing into the courtyard, she found the place teeming with people, and her heart sank.
