The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: The Inside Story

Upon hearing this, Fei Erya was all smiles, ”Turns out you’ve also moved to the town. That’s wonderful! Let’s go to school together from now on.”

”Sure, I’ll come over every morning to go to school with you.”

Fei Erya suddenly felt a bit overwhelmed by the attention. Previously, her deskmate was silent and reserved, rarely speaking. Now, she seemed much livelier and very friendly towards her, so she was all smiles and quickly nodded.

Although she had good grades and a kind personality, her connections with the girls in class were rather poor. There were a few she could talk to, but none were truly close friends. Now, with Yiyi personally visiting her, she was genuinely happy.

As they chatted, a sharp and sarcastic voice suddenly came from the doorway, ”Oh...there’s a friend visiting the house.”

Upon hearing this voice, Yiyi turned around to look.

A tall girl stood at the door, slightly resembling Fei Erya, but her somewhat harsh eyes and brows reduced her original beauty from a six or seven out of ten to a mere four or five.

When Fei Erya saw the girl at the door, she stood up immediately and called her ”sister.”

Turns out, this person was Fei Erya’s sister, Fei Wenya.

Fei Wenya fixed a steady gaze on Yiyi, then sneered, ”What kind of friend is she? I’ve never seen her before. Seems like it’s her first time at our place.” But at the end, she covered her mouth with a laugh, ”Oh...I forgot, you don’t really have any friends. After all, who would befriend someone with an indecent reputation?”

”Sister, what nonsense are you spouting?”

Upon hearing this, Fei Erya’s face turned red, and her eyes glimmered with some moisture.

Yiyi, however, raised her eyebrow involuntarily, recalling something.

Her deskmate didn’t have any real friends in their class, and some of the girls privately seemed to secretly discuss her, accusing her of fooling around with boys at such a young age. When Fei Erya had an accident, not many felt bad; some girls even considered it a deserved consequence.

Thinking of this, Yiyi’s gaze became cold.

Although she hadn’t been very close to Fei Erya before, having been deskmates for so many years, she understood a bit of Fei Erya’s true character. Those rumors were complete nonsense.

Yet, unexpectedly, Fei Wenya, as a sister, not only refrained from offering any consolation, but instead chose these words to stab at Fei Erya’s heart, showing just how malicious her intentions were.

”You are Er Ya’s sister, but why are you acting like this? Not only not supporting your sister, but also intentionally hurting her feelings. Those indecent words were obviously lies. Instead of stopping these rumors, you deliberately mention them. What’s your motive?”

Upon hearing this, Fei Wenya looked angrily at Yiyi and said, ”Who do you think you are, daring to talk to me like this?”

”Ha...Is this you being embarrassed and angry? You’re not fit to be Er Ya’s sister.”

Finally, Yiyi’s face turned solemn, and her tone was icy.

She had met this Fei Wenya in a previous life, someone who didn’t care at all about her sister, Fei Erya, and even lashed out verbally. Seeing her today, she was just as disagreeable as before.

”You...this is a matter between sisters; none of your business!”

Upon hearing Fei Wenya’s somewhat vulgar words, Yiyi looked at her with disdain, saying, ”I never expected someone as smart and kind as Er Ya to have such a crude sister.”

”You...”

Fei Wenya was too furious to speak, pointing at Yiyi with rage.

Yiyi ignored Fei Wenya and turned to Fei Erya, asking, ”Er Ya, why don’t we go for a walk?”

Fei Erya didn’t hesitate for a moment and left the house with Yiyi.

”Er Ya, you should also be more assertive usually, or else you’ll always be bullied by your sister. As a sister, she shouldn’t have said what she did. But she said them in front of me without any care, showing how badly she usually treats you.”

Upon hearing Yiyi’s words, Fei Erya’s eyes reddened a bit, ”Thank you, Yiyi.”

”No need to thank me.”

Yiyi waved her hand dismissively, but then looked at Fei Erya with some concern, saying, ”Er Ya, I just spoke to your sister like that. You should be more careful in the future to avoid getting hurt. But don’t your parents do something about your sister? Do they know she often bullies you?”

Fei Erya shook her head sadly, ”My parents always cover for my sister. Even if they see my sister speaking ill of me, they still wouldn’t say much.”

”Don’t your parents care for you?”

Yiyi felt surprised, wondering how parents could be like this. Even if favoritism exists, it’s taken to an extreme.

”Actually... my sister and I are not biologically related; we have different fathers.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi showed some surprise.

After saying this first sentence, Fei Erya didn’t hesitate anymore and briefly explained her family situation.

It turns out Fei Wenya was brought over by Fei Erya’s mother, Yan Jie, when she remarried. Fei Wenya’s biological father and Er Ya’s biological father, Zhang Da, were good friends. Due to the friend’s accident, Zhang Da took care of Yan Jie and her daughter out of goodwill. Unexpectedly, they developed feelings and ended up together.

Zhang Da married his late friend’s wife, naturally being close to his friend’s daughter. Usually, he’d ask Er Ya to give way to her sister in various matters.

After hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but smirk a little, feeling more sympathy for Fei Erya. At least she had a mother who truly loved her, while Fei Erya had no one who cared.

Her biological father Zhang Da likely felt guilty towards Fei Wenya’s father, hence giving more attention to Fei Wenya, while her own mother didn’t have much affection for her younger daughter.

Seeing Fei Erya’s sad expression, Yiyi couldn’t help but pat her shoulder and say, ”Er Ya, don’t be sad. You still have me as your good friend.”

Originally she felt sorry for Fei Erya for having an accident right after managing to get into university, but now she truly felt pity for Er Ya.

Feeling the warmth on her shoulder, Fei Erya couldn’t help but smile.

”Yes, I have you as a friend indeed.”

Seeing Fei Erya’s smiling face, Yiyi felt a bit dazed; her smile was truly beautiful, ”Er Ya, you really are pretty; no wonder so many boys like you.”

But upon hearing this, Fei Erya wasn’t happy at all.

”I wish boys wouldn’t like me, so I wouldn’t be talked about in those crazy rumors.”

At this, Yiyi couldn’t help but frown and say, ”Who started to spread these words initially? You’re clearly not like that, so why would they say such things?”

”I don’t know who first started saying things. When I found out, some girls were already pointing fingers behind my back.”
