The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Helping Out

Fei Erya didn’t take Yiyi’s words to heart. No matter how good the exercise books were, she still needed to consolidate her own knowledge points. Besides, with so many topics, who knew what the college entrance exams would cover? It was still uncertain whether the knowledge points in these two exercise books would even be relevant.

Seeing that Fei Erya wasn’t too concerned, Yiyi didn’t say more. As long as they both understood the exercises, that was enough.

”Gu Tingyu...”

As the two of them were approaching the bus stop, Yiyi suddenly spotted a familiar figure ahead and excitedly ran forward.

Fei Erya was slightly puzzled, but seeing Yiyi run off, she also jogged over.

At that moment, Gu Tingyu was talking with someone beside him. Hearing someone call his name, he turned back, and when he saw Yiyi, he was a bit taken aback. It took him a moment to recognize the young girl he had met once in Houshan Town.

”Oh... it’s you. You’ve grown taller, and your appearance has changed a bit. I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Hearing Gu Tingyu’s words, Yiyi burst out laughing.

”Have I become prettier?”

It was the first time Gu Tingyu had heard someone praise themselves so directly, making him chuckle. But in the end, he nodded and said, ”Yes, you have indeed become prettier.”

Hearing Gu Tingyu’s affirmation, Yiyi was even more pleased.

At this moment, a young man standing next to Gu Tingyu curiously looked at Yiyi, ”Young lady, you know Tingyu?”

”Yes.”

Yiyi admitted it openly and took a look at him, noting that he was also a very remarkable man, tall and handsome.

Gu Tingyu also realized and smiled at Yiyi, ”This is my friend, named Du Kun.” Then he introduced Yiyi to Du Kun.

When Du Kun heard Yiyi’s name, he finally remembered who she was, ”So you’re the young lady Tingyu mentioned before. I heard you’re quite skilled. Truly, you can’t judge a book by its cover.”

Yiyi didn’t expect Gu Tingyu to have talked about her with others, which made her very happy, indicating that Gu Tingyu acknowledged her... skills.

Hearing their conversation, Fei Erya, who had finally caught up, was somewhat dumbfounded, ”Yiyi, you... you know Kung Fu?”

Yiyi didn’t hide it from Fei Erya and directly nodded, ”Yes, I’ve learned a few moves.”

Gu Tingyu raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

With Yiyi’s skills, it wasn’t just a matter of a few moves.

Du Kun also noticed Fei Erya.

Looking at the two beautiful young ladies before him, he couldn’t help but sigh at how lovely they were. And as he observed them, his eyes suddenly brightened. He pulled Gu Tingyu aside and said, ”Tingyu, since you said that young lady is skilled, could we ask her to help us with our task?”

Hearing this, Gu Tingyu frowned, ”We should keep looking for someone else; we shouldn’t involve a young lady in such risks.”

”Tingyu, we’ve been looking for so long in this area without finding a suitable person. Now that we’ve finally found a skilled young lady, we should at least give it a try.”

But Gu Tingyu still disagreed.

”Tingyu, don’t be so stubborn. This place isn’t like Shangjing. There’s not even a women’s regiment around here. Where can we find a skilled female comrade?”

Just as Gu Tingyu was about to say something, Yiyi stepped forward.

”Are you facing some difficulty? Is there any way I can help?” In fact, she had overheard everything. She knew they were looking for a skilled female to help, and if she could assist, she’d be more than willing.

Hearing this, Du Kun quickly approached and said, ”Young lady, we really are facing difficulties. If you could help us, it would be greatly appreciated.”

But Gu Tingyu shook his head and said, ”No, we don’t need any help from you.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi didn’t look at Gu Tingyu but instead turned to Du Kun and asked, ”What difficulty are you facing? Can you tell me in detail?”

”Of course,” Du Kun replied.

Seeing Yiyi’s enthusiasm, Du Kun thought she was a remarkable young lady, so even though Gu Tingyu didn’t agree, he truthfully explained the situation.

It turned out Gu Tingyu needed to find a partner to disguise themselves as siblings and go to nearby Xing Village on a rescue mission.

”You need to impersonate a pair of siblings from the Lin family who left Xing Village when they were young and haven’t returned in many years. The villagers wouldn’t recognize you. Right now, a group of thugs occupies the old Lin family house, claiming to be distant relatives and refusing to open the door easily. Once you two go there, you could pretend to meet long-lost relatives, making the rescue easier. We considered barging in, but the thugs are guarding a very important hostage, so we can’t take risks.”

After hearing the situation, Yiyi pretty much understood and nodded directly, saying, ”Alright, I got it.”

Gu Tingyu still had concerns. As a regular young girl, Yiyi shouldn’t get involved in such matters. He felt some resentment toward his friend for being so hasty.

Yiyi naturally understood Gu Tingyu’s concerns and smiled, ”Actually, you don’t have to worry. I’ll take good care of myself, and besides, you’ll be there, so of course, nothing will happen to me, right?”

”I certainly won’t let anything happen to you.”

Without hesitation, Gu Tingyu replied, knowing that if Yiyi helped, he had to ensure her safety.

Hearing Gu Tingyu’s firm words, Yiyi’s lips curved, feeling very pleased.

Even though she knew Gu Tingyu’s concern and responsibility towards her were because of the mission, she still felt excited. Regardless, Gu Tingyu would be paying close attention to her in the coming times.

”There you have it. Since you won’t let anything happen to me, what else is there to worry about?”

”That’s not the point.”

Gu Tingyu said seriously, ”I’ll do my best to keep you safe, but once we’re in Xing Village, who knows what might happen? There might be times I can’t take care of everything, so you could still be in danger.”

”I’m not afraid.”

Yiyi said with bright eyes, looking at Gu Tingyu full of trust, ”I stand by what I said. I’ll take care of myself, and I trust in your skills.”

Finally snapping out of her daze, Fei Erya hurriedly pulled Yiyi aside, saying, ”Yiyi, don’t act rashly. Even if you’re skilled, it’s too dangerous. Besides, we have school tomorrow. If you go to Xing Village, you definitely won’t make it on time for school.”
