Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2598: Chapter 1887: The Evidence Is Here (Part 2)

Seeing Hou Yuncheng arrive, Dong Tianlu and the others immediately felt invigorated.

”Mr. Hou, they’re trying to forcefully investigate our residence!” Dong Tianlu said.

Before Hou Yuncheng could speak, Mira laughed and said, ”This lady, how is this called a forced investigation? Someone has filed a report, Mr. Bai Xiaosheng is suspected of issues, our staff are completely acting according to the law.”

Dong Tianlu immediately raised an eyebrow and sneered, ”Then may I ask, if I now report that Mr. Mira has issues, can I, based on my word alone, inspect your residence?”

Mira laughed, ”How can that be the same? Mr. Bai Xiaosheng is currently under investigation...”

”It’s assisting the investigation!” Dong Tianlu immediately corrected, ”Mr. Bai volunteered to assist your investigation, he is not a criminal!”

”But the situation is different now,” Mira said with a hint of a cold smile, shrugging his shoulders and glancing at Hou Yuncheng.

The business group had not received detailed reports, so they were naturally unaware that Bai Xiaosheng now had many ’solid proofs’ against him.

”Everyone, I understand how you feel, but now we need to cooperate with their investigation,” Hou Yuncheng finally spoke.

With his words, Dong Tianlu and others looked at each other, finally stepping aside silently.

Actually, from the beginning, they didn’t really want to stop it, nor could they. Today’s scene, along with the presence of Yang Xiaoyun, was clearly a setup meant to destroy Bai Xiaosheng. None of them could sit back and do nothing.

Now, Hou Yuncheng is here, and everything depends on him.

Hou Yuncheng glanced at Mira and slowly said, ”Mr. Mira, your people can go in and check, we’ll be waiting right here and won’t interfere.”

Seeing that Hou Yuncheng agreed, Mira immediately waved, and the investigators behind him immediately passed by, heading straight for Bai Xiaosheng’s room.

”I don’t know how you define and investigate commercial bribery cases in Oshan, but okay. Shouldn’t the bribery personnel also be investigated?” Hou Yuncheng said in a deep voice to Mira, also casting a deep look at Yang Xiaoyun beside him.

At this moment, Yang Xiaoyun looked aside, not even meeting Hou Yuncheng’s gaze.

Mira forced a laugh, ”This matter will be handled according to procedure, and once there’s a result, I’ll inform Mr. Hou accordingly.”

Hou Yuncheng nodded, ”Alright, I’ll wait!”

The crowd waited outside, and shortly after, some investigators came out, most of them with empty hands, but two held items, respectively a chess set and a can of tea leaves, the tea can appearing to be ceramic.

”Found it, Mr. Mira.” the leader immediately said to Mira.

Mira looked in amazement at the two items, unable to resist sneaking a glance at Yang Xiaoyun.

Just these two items?

Yang Xiaoyun was also watching, and seeing the situation was different than expected, he couldn’t care about his fear of Hou Yuncheng and quickly walked up.

The people who went to search brought the items closer, Yang Xiaoyun pointed to them and said, ”These are all things from the Yang Family, this is a Yunzi Chessboard from over two hundred years ago, it’s an artifact worth more than fifty thousand US dollars. This ceramic tea set is also over a hundred years old, crafted by a famous artist, worth around ten thousand US dollars.”

After speaking, Yang Xiaoyun continued to look, checking if anyone else was holding anything.

The gifts the Yang Family gave to Bai Xiaosheng were the least valuable among these two.

Where did the valuable ones go?

Yang Xiaoyun immediately looked at the person who led the search.

The person immediately shook his head and said in a low voice, ”We’ve checked, except for computers and personal items, there aren’t any items that can be considered historical artifacts.”

Yang Xiaoyun hearing this, immediately said, ”That’s impossible, that Bai Xiaosheng extorted a batch of higher-valued items from us, if they’re not in his room, they must be in the rooms of his companions. Yes, he has two subordinates, they should be searched together!”

With Yang Xiaoyun such a shout, Hou Yuncheng’s face darkened.

However, before he could speak, Dong Tianlu coldly snorted, ”We are all companions of Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, should we be searched as well!”

”Hmph, items worth a mere sixty thousand US dollars, and Mr. Bai needs to extort them from your Yang Family.” Lu Tiandao mocked, ”Do you really think Mr. Bai Xiaosheng is that poor? As friends, he gave me a watch worth over two hundred thousand!”

”Last time we drank wine, it was a million per bottle, hosted by Mr. Bai. Would he care about such a small amount of money from you!” Zhang Qinglin mocked as well.

”Even talk about Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, even among us present, anyone could pull out a tie or a belt worth more than that sum. Is that how stingy you are with your Yang Family gifts?”

”Sending some worthless gifts, then turning around to say people extort bribes, hmph, truly shameless. Is your Yang Family desperate?”

The business group members collectively ridiculed and scolded Yang Xiaoyun publicly, leaving the latter’s face alternating between pale and red, extremely unpleasant.

Dong Tianlu coldly said, ”And for this chessboard and a worthless ceramic can, how does Mr. Yang know it’s from your Yang Family and not Mr. Bai’s own belongings? Just because it’s dug out doesn’t mean it’s yours, that’s inappropriate.”

With Dong Tianlu’s words, Yang Xiaoyun immediately took the chess set, flipped to a spot with an engraving, ”Look here, there’s a ’Yang’ character, it’s from my Yang Family.”

”And for the tea can, pour out the tea leaves, there’s a ’Yang’ character at the bottom with resin coating for protection,” Yang Xiaoyun added.

The Yang Family’s intentions were malicious from the start when gifting items to Bai Xiaosheng.

Of course, if it weren’t for this incident, this tiny root of trouble wouldn’t have taken hold.

The first to hook up with Yang Xiaoyun was Lisa.
