Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2552: Chapter 1866: Public Negotiation

Bai Xiaosheng waited in the lounge for about a quarter of an hour before he heard footsteps outside. Shortly afterward, Lin Weiwei pushed open the door and invited Milo in.

”Miss Weiwei, have you had breakfast? How about having a cup of coffee together later?” Milo didn’t forget to joke with Lin Weiwei the moment he came in.

Out of politeness, Lin Weiwei restrained herself and smiled slightly, without responding to him.

Milo was persistent and wanted to strike up more conversation.

”Mr. Milo, you’re here. Come, have a seat. I have freshly brewed tea here,” Bai Xiaosheng called out.

Milo glanced at Bai Xiaosheng and smiled, ”Okay, okay, right away.”

”Miss Weiwei.” Having greeted Bai Xiaosheng, Milo turned again to Lin Weiwei, eager to chat a bit more.

As a result, the lounge door slammed shut right before his eyes, the sudden breeze blowing his bangs into disarray.

This was asking for trouble.

Bai Xiaosheng suppressed a laugh, picked up a cup of tea, and drank while trying to hide his amusement.

”Haha, she’s got character, I like it,” Milo chuckled, pointing at the door while speaking to Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng had no intention of discussing Lin Weiwei’s personality issues with Milo. He smiled and gestured towards the seat in front of him.

Only then did Milo walk over and sit down opposite Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng poured a cup of tea and pushed it over.

”Good tea.” Milo picked up the cup and took a sip, nodding slightly.

”Does Mr. Milo understand tea?” Bai Xiaosheng casually asked.

”Not at all.” Milo was straightforward, putting down the cup, ”But, I’ve drunk it, so I must say something. I can’t let the host lose face. If I were to say it’s bland and tasteless without sugar, that would show I lack taste.”

Bai Xiaosheng was momentarily taken aback by Milo, finding the situation amusing yet perplexing.

This guy’s usual irreverence contrasted sharply with his aggression at the negotiation table, like two extremes.

However, there was a common ground between these two states.

That is Milo’s rather casual attitude; he doesn’t care about how he speaks or what others express.

It actually made Bai Xiaosheng feel more at ease talking to him.

”Mr. Milo said before setting off for the inspection today, he wanted to discuss something with me first. Is it to continue yesterday’s topic, to come to a conclusion?” Bai Xiaosheng asked directly.

Milo grinned and said, ”You guessed right. Mr. Bai, you wouldn’t know, but last night, many people called me, asking about the result of our negotiation. You said there’s no final conclusion, how can I tell them I didn’t pressure you for a lower price? That would make me look incompetent and inefficient.”

”So, this morning I thought, what’s the rush for the inspection? Isn’t it just a walk to see how much it differs from the materials? Everyone already has mutual understanding about each enterprise’s equipment, technology, and products, isn’t that right?”

”Here, I can assure you that the products and services provided by Karan’s business community have absolutely no issues. If there’s a discrepancy between the materials and reality, I’ll take responsibility.”

”Since the inspection isn’t the most urgent matter, I thought, why not finalize the general framework of cooperation early, setting a floating price range acceptable to both parties for each category of product and service. When it comes to signing contracts later, as long as it’s within this price range, there will be no objections from either party, wouldn’t that be great? That would also facilitate cooperation...”

Once Milo started talking, he was unstoppable, getting more animated as he spoke.

Bai Xiaosheng drank his tea quietly, listening impassively.

Finally, when Milo felt parched and had mostly finished speaking, he paused, took a big gulp of tea, and looked at Bai Xiaosheng, asking, ”What do you think? Should we continue from yesterday’s results until we reach a floating range both parties can accept?”

Bai Xiaosheng glanced at the time.

”If we continue the discussion, today’s inspection will probably be canceled. Mr. Milo, do you know our schedule is quite tight? If the original plan isn’t completed, I, as the leader, might get criticized.”

”You emphasize the process rather than the result?” Milo shrugged, smiling.

Knowing Bai Xiaosheng’s tight schedule, he wanted to use negotiations to drag things out, taking the opportunity to press hard for lower prices. Otherwise, it would be a missed opportunity.

Milo leaned forward, staring sharply at Bai Xiaosheng, smiling, ”I said, without a conclusion from the negotiations, even the inspection won’t yield results. Isn’t it harder for your superiors to accept if you gain nothing in Karan, compared to not completing the task as specified?”

At this point, Milo showed a rather ”sinister” look, full of confidence, seemingly sure he would achieve something this time.

Bai Xiaosheng put down his teacup, giving Milo a faint smile.

”Mr. Milo, is this a threat? Your words are more direct than yesterday’s!” Bai Xiaosheng said.

”I call it honesty.”

Milo laughed, ”We both know the truth, and there’s no third party here, so why not say it?”

Such honesty!

Bai Xiaosheng was about to speak when he suddenly heard a commotion outside, and the faint sound of people talking came through.

”Miss Lin, please announce that we’re also interested in listening to this business negotiation...”

”Yes, just sitting next door waiting makes everyone restless...”

”Since everyone knows now, why not listen together...”

The voices were all in Huaxia, belonging to the merchants in the business group.

It seems they are aware Milo is here and is discussing with Bai Xiaosheng, all eagerly wanting to listen.

Bai Xiaosheng thought to himself.

Milo smiled slightly, gesturing towards the door as he spoke to Bai Xiaosheng, ”It seems your people are quite anxious. Mr. Bai, I’ve heard you have considerable prestige in the business group, but right now it seems your authority as a leader is starting to weaken. This isn’t good, not at all, it could cause trouble.”

Milo deliberately reminded, also trying to unsettle Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng’s calmness was quite troubling to him.

However, Bai Xiaosheng didn’t seem to care about this provocation, at least remaining outwardly calm.

Bai Xiaosheng said to Milo, ”It seems our people want to listen. Mr. Milo, do you mind if there are people listening in?”

”Of course not; I remember there’s a large conference room next door,” Milo replied with a smile.

This business negotiation is related to everyone, and ultimately everyone will know, so confidentiality isn’t a concern.

Milo wanted those people present, to create differing opinions and influence Bai Xiaosheng’s judgments.

This way, he could seize the opportunity.

Bai Xiaosheng is a tough opponent; the more peaceful his mindset and the quieter the environment, the harder he is to deal with.

”If that’s the case, let’s move to the conference room. After all, what you and I are discussing will be known by everyone,” Bai Xiaosheng said, standing up.

Milo also gladly stood up.

Their negotiation was about to turn into a public discussion.

The two walked out one after the other; just when they reached the door, there were two quick knocks, signaling a reminder, followed by the door being opened a crack.

Lin Weiwei leaned in.

”Mr. Bai...” Lin Weiwei started, but paused, seeing Bai Xiaosheng already in front of her.

Behind, Milo still had his mischievous grin, winking at her.

”Tell everyone we’re heading to the conference room together,” Bai Xiaosheng glanced at Milo and smiled at Lin Weiwei, ”Let’s have a public negotiation!”
