Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2591: Chapter 1884: A Fruitless Conversation (2)

”Moreover, the former Mr. Maiwen from Maiwen Transport Company has also agreed to come forward and testify.”

”And relevant documents from Asia’s Lunge Island confirm that the actual registrant of those shell companies is a Huaxia individual, with the surname Bai.”

Mr. Wagg put down the paper in hand and said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”We have more evidence, though it’s not convenient to disclose to you now, Mr. Bai. However, if you are willing to share some insights with us, we’d be glad to listen.”

Wagg stared into Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes, hoping to see a change in expression - perhaps anger or panic at being wronged, anything.

However, Bai Xiaosheng merely furrowed his brow slightly.

Having this reaction was also good, at least better than yesterday’s indifferent attitude.

”I want to see my people,” Bai Xiaosheng spoke.

Trapped here, under surveillance, unable to contact his own people, Bai Xiaosheng also couldn’t prove his innocence.

”You’ll see them; yesterday your Mr. Hou Yuncheng contacted us for stern negotiations and said he’d come over today.” Wagg smiled, leaning slightly forward and gazing into Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes, ”But he can only urge us to expedite the investigation; he cannot interfere with anything!”

Wagg’s attitude clearly told Bai Xiaosheng not to harbor any expectations.

Bai Xiaosheng looked at Wagg coldly.

Wagg sat up straight, smiling, ”Today I don’t have much worth asking, and Mr. Bai seems to have nothing worth saying, so let’s just chat casually. You two, please step outside first.”

The latter part of Wagg’s sentence was naturally directed at the two people who accompanied him.

The two people immediately nodded, swiftly packed up their computer and paper, and left the room without a word.

With the sound of the door closing, the room was free of a third party, allowing Wagg to relax. He smiled at Bai Xiaosheng and lowered his voice, ”Mr. Bai, we believe there are substantial doubts in this matter, and we will endeavor to help clear your suspicions.”

”However, we also have to provide an account to the thirty or forty companies in our country that suffered losses, right?”

”Regardless of whether this matter is related to you, it does have some association with the Huaxia people, given those shell companies were registered on that side of Asia.”

”So, you see, why not attempt to foster more cooperation between your business group and our businessmen? With friendly relations on both sides, what problem can’t be solved?”

”We could also mobilize them to search for clues to clear your suspicions.” Wagg said with a smile, ”This is my suggestion!”

Wagg’s words made Bai Xiaosheng raise his eyebrows, his gaze turning meaningful.

”Is this a suggestion or your agenda?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

Wagg shrugged immediately, smiling, ”It’s a highly valuable suggestion! If Mr. Bai does not accept, it’s no big deal, you can wait it out slowly. But if you want to leave here urgently, then this is certainly a good suggestion for you!”

Wagg’s meaning was unmistakably clear.

Considering the whole situation, with Wagg’s department exhibiting no objections and acting coherently, it all pointed to an issue.

Bai Xiaosheng offered a faint smile, ”This isn’t Mr. Wagg’s personal suggestion; it’s your department’s suggestion!”

Reflecting on the overall situation, the Oshan Commerce Department is currently facing an examination crisis, urgently needing significant cooperation from the Huaxia Business Group. Bai Xiaosheng, due to the actual circumstances of the business group, refused their cooperation request, and then was inexplicably drawn into trouble and brought here.

The ”suggestion to resolve the issue” they provided was to exchange it for extensive cooperation.

Behind this...

Bai Xiaosheng felt a chill.

”Mr. Bai, you really like to make jokes; our department has no agenda other than hoping both sides can be better.” Wagg shrugged with a smile, ”Think about it, if you get deep into a trouble, perhaps the entire Huaxia Business Group might be dragged into a credibility crisis. By then, your Mr. Hou Yuncheng might bring in large orders to secure your release from here. Only, once back, your days might not be so good. You see, since cooperation as a result is inevitable, why not be proactive about it?”

Having said this, Wagg stood up with a smile, ”Think it over; let’s end this conversation here, I have to leave now...”

He was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Wagg immediately looked at the door suspiciously.

During his talk with Bai Xiaosheng, who dared interrupt?

Just as Wagg was puzzled, the door was pushed open, and two people walked in from outside.

”Mr. Mira?” Wagg was surprised to see one of them.

At this time, his superior Mr. Mira should be presiding over matters in the department, how did he come here without any notice?

What was most curious was, since it was Mr. Mira arriving, then why knock, being courteous to his deputy?

Wagg then noticed, beside Mr. Mira stood a Huaxia man, with a rather imposing presence.

Hou Yuncheng!

Wagg had seen Hou Yuncheng’s appearance, left with a deep impression, recognizing him immediately caused his eyes to narrow slightly.

This Hou Yuncheng had arrived so quickly!

”Wagg, have you finished talking with Mr. Bai Xiaosheng? Mr. Hou Yuncheng hopes to see Mr. Bai Xiaosheng.” Mr. Mira looked at Wagg and said.

The knock, rather than courtesy, served as a reminder.

Mr. Mira feared Wagg might say something inappropriate to Bai Xiaosheng.

”We’ve finished talking.” Wagg immediately gave a smile to Hou Yuncheng, ”Didn’t expect Mr. Hou Yuncheng to arrive so early.”

”Mr. Wagg.” Hou Yuncheng turned to Wagg, nodded politely, but showed no smile.

In fact, Hou Yuncheng’s expression was stern the moment he entered.

”Director Hou.” Bai Xiaosheng stood up, smiling to greet Hou Yuncheng.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng, finally a smile appeared on Hou Yuncheng’s serious face as he spoke in Huaxia, ”Sheng, I’m here.”

This simple statement brought Bai Xiaosheng a sense of warmth and reassurance upon seeing his own people.

In a foreign land, subjected to strange investigations, without seeing his own people, a heartfelt statement was more comforting.

”Mr. Hou Yuncheng, you’ve met Mr. Bai, feel free to speak, though we cannot avoid it, it’s our policy.” Mira smiled and said to Hou Yuncheng.

Rather than policy, it’s more about distrust.

Hou Yuncheng said nothing, walking directly to Bai Xiaosheng, saying, ”Sheng, I’ve come to see you, to convey the concern from above to you, we believe you have been wronged, and we will closely watch the progress, urging the Oshan side to thoroughly investigate everything!”

Hou Yuncheng continued, ”And please believe, behind you is Huaxia, which will never let any Huaxia person suffer injustice!”

Hou Yuncheng’s words were simple yet powerful.

”I believe; thank you, Director Hou!”

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng was also moved internally.

”Alright, you’ve seen each other and spoken; take a good rest here! Wait for the day I come to fetch you!” Hou Yuncheng said nothing further, providing Bai Xiaosheng a warm smile, then nodded to Mira and turned to leave.

”Take care, Director Hou.” Bai Xiaosheng called out loudly.

Mr. Mira glanced at Bai Xiaosheng and followed Hou Yuncheng out.

He didn’t understand Huaxia at all, having no clue what the two of them discussed.

Wagg remained, watching the direction of the door, lowering his voice to Bai Xiaosheng, ”Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, you’ve seen it; even if your senior officials come, it still does not remedy your situation. You’d better think over what I’ve said...”

Bai Xiaosheng looked at Wagg blandly, suddenly smiling.

”What are you smiling about?” Wagg asked warily.

”Mr. Wagg,” Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”Let’s see how this matter unfolds!”

Facing Bai Xiaosheng’s unyielding attitude, Wagg’s eyes flashed slightly, then he chuckled, ”Then we shall see!”

With that, Wagg also turned and left.

Their defiant words were proven right by afternoon.

Because unexpected changes happened that neither side anticipated...
