Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2257: Chapter 1711: An Unexpected Event (2)

Bai Xiaosheng and his group didn’t look at Ma Weiqian, until he sat down on the seat next to them, until he asked the waiter for a drink.

”Mr. Bai, you all arrived early,” Ma Weiqian muttered with his head down.

Lei Ying stood up, holding his drink, and moved to the other side of Ma Weiqian, making space for them and blocking the view of others.

Ma Weiqian, understanding the cue, moved closer to Bai Xiaosheng.

”Not that early, just half an hour ahead,” Bai Xiaosheng said, sipping his drink while glancing at Mr. Nick’s side. He smiled at Ma Weiqian, ”Looks like Mr. Nick is going to be quite busy today.”

Ma Weiqian chuckled, ”Not really, just the initial greetings make him seem busy. When the party officially starts, Mr. Nick won’t stay long before leaving. After all, attending this party is more about giving face to a friend, relaxing, not important socializing.”

Lowering his voice mysteriously, Ma Weiqian added, ”But for today’s host, it’s different. Although Mr. Nick is his friend, he’s also a valued guest.”

This new information made Bai Xiaosheng nod in understanding.

Ma Weiqian laughed, ”I heard that today’s host has prepared a little something for Mr. Nick that he likes most—a little performance!”

Bai Xiaosheng gave a surprised glance at Ma Weiqian.

”What kind of performance?” Lin Weiwei asked across from Bai Xiaosheng, unable to resist.

Ma Weiqian glanced at Lin Weiwei, a hint of an unspeakable expression in his smile.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng looking at him, Ma Weiqian smiled suggestively, ”You might not know, Mr. Nick loves Asian culture, and especially Asian beauties, saying women with yellow skin and black hair are the most fascinating.”

Ma Weiqian chuckled, implying, ”I heard the organizer arranged... a female companion for him, still a university student.”

Lin Weiwei suddenly understood, her face flushed, and she spat in disdain.

”Don’t worry, not a pure Huaxia person, I heard she’s from UH Country, but with mixed ancestry from three countries, so there’s a bit of lineage,” Ma Weiqian laughed, ”A consensual thing... Mr. Bai, do you think Mr. Nick will stay long?”

Bai Xiaosheng remained silent.

Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but give Ma Weiqian a cold stare, feeling disdainful.

Who wants to be grouped with you, ”we”, you’re no longer Huaxia people, don’t lump us together.

But in the end, Lin Weiwei held back and said nothing.

Bai Xiaosheng frowned, ”If we were to meet Nick and talk, wouldn’t that have to happen before he leaves... at that time?”

”Exactly at that time!” Ma Weiqian responded straightforwardly, ”Even with this little show, Mr. Nick won’t linger long at the hotel. Initially, he’s just making a brief appearance before heading back to the company! It’s tough being a leader even at night, huh.”

Bai Xiaosheng didn’t respond.

Ma Weiqian lowered his voice, ”Later, he’ll rest in a room upstairs, I can take you there, but I can only take you alone! There are people standing guard outside; it’s inconvenient for all of us to go.”

If Ma Weiqian brought three unfamiliar Asian faces, they would be too conspicuous, and Nick’s entourage wouldn’t allow it.

It’s understandable.

Bai Xiaosheng nodded slightly, ”Fine, then I’ll go with you alone when the time comes!”

After all, it’s to discuss matters, not to fight, so Lei Ying doesn’t need to follow. Bai Xiaosheng believes he can make the other side speak.

Ma Weiqian silently clapped his hands, ”Then it’s settled.”

Afterward, Ma Weiqian finished his drink in one gulp, smiled at Bai Xiaosheng, and turned to leave.

However, after taking a few steps, Ma Weiqian returned, smiling all over, leaned in close to Bai Xiaosheng, and said, ”About your promise to me...”

Bai Xiaosheng chuckled, ”Even if I give you a check now, it wouldn’t be convenient with all the eyes around. I’ll make sure to hand it to you after the party.”

Ma Weiqian’s smile showed some reluctance, but seeing Bai Xiaosheng looking at him, he quickly changed to a warm smile, ”Alright! I’ll take you there when there’s a chance!”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded with a smile.

This time, Ma Weiqian finally left.

Bai Xiaosheng and his group continued sipping their drinks, closely watching the activities on Nick’s side.

The three stayed in this corner for now, near another exit. Occasionally, people came and went, but none of them were important figures.

At this moment, a plump white man entered from the doorway, his body wobbling with every step, yet his walk was surprisingly agile.

The stereotype that fat people are clumsy is absolutely a prejudice.

The white plump man quickly walked up to the three of them, sat down heavily, and slapped the bar top loudly with his thick hand, attracting the gaze of Bai Xiaosheng and his two companions.

”Paul, give me a Long Island Iced Tea,” the plump man seemed to know the bartender, calling out in a low voice.

The bartender couldn’t help but glance at Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, lowering his voice, ”You’re here for a free drink again.”

The plump man chuckled.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng and his companions were not bothered, the bartender began mixing the drink.

It’s quite unbelievable that such a person and situation would exist in such a high-end hotel.

However, there are countless unbelievable phenomena in this world, and Bai Xiaosheng and his friends, being well-traveled, were not overly surprised.

”Hey, guess what I just saw in the quiet corridor back there? The host of today’s party was scolding an Asian woman. She seemed unwilling to do something, and her boss was both intimidating and threatening her. Tsk tsk, that woman was so beautiful, even crying prettily.” The plump man chuckled like a pig.

The bartender quickly gestured for silence, apologized with a smile to Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, then lowered his voice and warned the plump man, ”Stop talking nonsense, finish up and leave, or I’ll be in trouble too!”

Seeing that Bai Xiaosheng and his friends were really watching him, the plump man quickly covered his mouth, gave a sheepish grin, and, as soon as his drink arrived, gulped it down and slipped away.

The bartender, seeing this, hurriedly went to ”busy” himself with other tasks.

Bai Xiaosheng and his two companions exchanged glances.

Ma Weiqian had mentioned that the host of the party had arranged some entertainment for Nick, presumably voluntarily, but it seemed otherwise now.

”Why don’t we go check it out?” Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but suggest, ”After all, Xiaosheng, you’ll soon disrupt someone’s ’good time,’ so why not see what bad things are going on now and do some good!”

Lin Weiwei couldn’t stand to see anyone bullied, especially a girl.

Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying were not the types to sit idly by either.

”Let’s go and take a look!” Bai Xiaosheng decisively said, leading the way toward the door, followed by Lei Ying and Lin Weiwei.

The bartender behind the bar craned his neck to take a long look at their backs, then quickly cleared the cups from the counter, muttering, ”Hey, these Huaxia people really love to meddle in other people’s business...”

Bai Xiaosheng led the way, pushing open the door that served as an entrance to the back, stepping outside into the corridor, which was indeed secluded, without a soul in sight.

Bai Xiaosheng faintly heard voices, along with low sobbing sounds, coming from around the corner not far away.

”Be quiet! Do you hear me? Go fix your makeup immediately!” someone scolded in English, then paused and softened their tone as if coaxing, ”Jin, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Do you know who he is...you’ll soar to success...I’ll give you the position of company manager, but if you continue to refuse, I will have to fire you and file a lawsuit against you; you won’t be able to stay in this industry! Understand?”

Bai Xiaosheng furrowed his brows and strode over.

The person there seemed to have heard footsteps, speaking in a low voice, ”Think about it carefully!”

Then came the sound of hurried footsteps leaving, as if fearing being seen.

The plump white man from earlier must be quite skillful, able to eavesdrop without being noticed by the other party.

When Bai Xiaosheng and his companions arrived, they saw a petite woman sobbing softly.

Upon hearing someone approach, she quickly looked up, startled.

The woman was young, someone might believe she was a college student, and she resembled a pop idol with black eyes and yellow skin.

Foreigners might not distinguish which Asian country she belonged to, but Bai Xiaosheng and his companions could tell at a glance that she had differences in appearance from Huaxia people.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying, the woman seemed a bit anxious.

”Don’t worry, miss, we are not bad people,” Bai Xiaosheng reassured.

Since she wasn’t a Huaxia person, Bai Xiaosheng spoke in English.

The girl remained vigilant until Lin Weiwei approached.

”Miss, what’s wrong? Do you need help?” Lin Weiwei asked with concern, walking over.

As soon as the girl saw Lin Weiwei, she began crying again, stepping forward to grab her and pleading in a low voice, ”Please, you must help me!”
