Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2252: Chapter 1708: Bai Xiaosheng’s ”Punishment

Xiya spoke, causing others to involuntarily look at her. Just now, she was actually pleading with Bai Xiaosheng on behalf of Jack. In fact, some people had this thought earlier, but didn’t dare to voice it, fearing that Bai Xiaosheng would be displeased.

Upon hearing Xiya’s words, they instantly fell silent, watching Bai Xiaosheng’s reaction.

Jack looked at Xiya both surprised and grateful.

Bai Xiaosheng didn’t say a word, seemingly giving face because it was Xiya speaking.

At this moment, Xiya subtly exchanged glances with a few people who were close to Jack. Those people suddenly understood, seeing Bai Xiaosheng’s demeanor was still calm and immediately spoke up one after another.

”Yes, Mr. Bai, the Jack Family still has a lot of strength in many areas, monopolizing resources, and is worth cooperating with.”

”This matter is just Jack himself being blind and foolish. He knows he was wrong, and you, as a bigger person, shouldn’t hold grudges against small people.”

”Mr. Bai, through this matter, Jack has learned his lesson, and the Jack Family will spare no effort in collaborating with you.”

Amidst everyone’s chatter, Xiya seized the opportunity and said, ”Mr. Bai, today, all of us present are witnesses. Whether it’s Jack or his family, if they show any disrespect to you in the future, it’s betraying business ethics and will be despised by everyone. We will absolutely not collaborate with such unreliable people. What do you all say?”

Xiya’s words were indeed venomous.

Others quickly nodded in agreement, ”That’s exactly right. Today we plead for him, if we are let down, it’s like slapping our faces!”

”In the future, I definitely won’t walk the same path as them!”

”That’s right, making mistakes shouldn’t happen again and again, or trust will be completely lost.”

With everyone’s consensus, Jack tasted the bitterness; these words were indeed heavy, but he remained silent.

At the moment, as long as he could move Bai Xiaosheng, he would accept it.

Bai Xiaosheng looked at Jack and slowly said, ”Mr. Jack, it seems you have quite the good reputation, with so many people speaking up for you.”

Jack quickly mustered a smile.

”Even if I don’t give you face, I can’t ignore everyone’s.” Bai Xiaosheng pondered for a moment, then continued, ”If you think you can live up to what everyone said, accepting their moral supervision, I might consider allowing your family to participate in the cooperation.”

Jack was genuinely delighted upon hearing Bai Xiaosheng say this and hurriedly said, ”I’m willing!”

Looking at Jack, Bai Xiaosheng laughed.

”You’re truly sparing no effort for your family. Very good, but I want to see to what extent you are willing to sacrifice for your family!” Bai Xiaosheng’s smile was profound, ”I can now accept your family to join in the cooperation, but for every day our cooperation lasts, you shall not hold any position in your family’s business. Are you willing?”

Bai Xiaosheng emphasized, ”If you agree, then I will agree to cooperate with your family!”

Jack looked at Bai Xiaosheng in shock.

He hadn’t expected Bai Xiaosheng to give him such a choice.

The family cooperates with Bai Xiaosheng, yet he has to be excluded!

Everyone was shocked and looked at Bai Xiaosheng, warning themselves secretly to go back and tell their families to cooperate well with this Mr. Bai. It would be a great joy for both sides. If there was any defiance, he would lose all trust, and facing him would come at a great cost even in plea!

Bai Xiaosheng naturally noticed the reactions of others, as this was his intention to convey to them via Jack.

At this moment, Jack’s face was ashen.

This choice was too difficult!

To temporarily not hold a position within the family, at first glance seems trivial, but in families like theirs, every peer exhausts efforts to perform and strive for power. Once excluded from power, coming back in would be tough!

Over time, what capital would he have to compete for the position of Clan Leader!

However, if he publicly refused Bai Xiaosheng because of himself, he also can’t go back and explain to the family!

Ignoring family interests would be scorned by everyone and might even result in being stripped of power upon returning.

What Bai Xiaosheng presented was not a choice but rather a dilemma, even sentencing Jack’s future to doom.

No matter how he chose, it was a dead end!

Others naturally saw the viciousness of this choice and looked at Jack with sympathy.

Whether to agree to Bai Xiaosheng, being sidelined from family business...

Or to refuse, testing the family’s punishment severity...

Someone as opportunistic as Jack, it seemed refusing Bai Xiaosheng’s request was in line with his nature.

Right as everyone thought this, Jack’s voice, slightly hoarse, solemnly said, ”Mr. Bai, if you insist on making me choose, I...”

Everyone immediately focused their attention, wondering if Jack would stand firm in the final moment and refuse Bai Xiaosheng.

”I’m willing to allow my family to cooperate with you. For every day of cooperation, I won’t hold any position within the family business!” Jack almost bit out these words.

After speaking, Jack appeared like a deflated balloon, with indescribable exhaustion on his face.

Everyone sighed.

Who would’ve thought Jack would have a side willing to sacrifice.

Actually, even those who were present, no matter how opportunistic, had been educated from young to prioritize family. After all, the family’s continuation dictates their future.

Jack managed to do something they considered natural, yet somewhat admirable.

Everyone immediately looked at Bai Xiaosheng, hopeful that Bai Xiaosheng would see Jack’s sincerity and make a change.

Bai Xiaosheng stared into Jack’s eyes, and at this moment, he saw no scheming or ulterior motives, only resoluteness.

Bai Xiaosheng also smiled, ”Finally you’ve shown me, Mr. Jack, your commendable side.”

In the face of Bai Xiaosheng’s praise, Jack gave a bitter smile.

”Nonetheless, a decision is a decision. When I, Bai Xiaosheng, speak, I do what I say.” Bai Xiaosheng’s voice was cold, ”From now on, your family will enjoy equal cooperation with me, as do others, and you shall not hold any position in your family’s business.”

Everyone quietly looked at Jack.

Upon hearing Bai Xiaosheng’s words, Jack’s face showed a sorrowful smile, yet with a sense of relief.

”Thank you, Mr. Bai!” Jack sincerely thanked Bai Xiaosheng one last time.

In speech, attitude, and inside, Jack had deep awe for this peer who had overwhelmed him with exhaustion.

He was sincerely convinced.

Bai Xiaosheng saw this and was also satisfied with Jack’s current state.

Only when Jack feels respect and fear, feels completely afraid of him, can he... be used by him!

From Bai Xiaosheng’s perspective, Jack, frankly speaking, had poor character, underhanded methods, and a manipulative mind.

But you can’t expect everyone around you in the business world to be righteous gentlemen.

The business world is a big melting pot with all kinds of people; when dealing with upright individuals, you should use upright people. When dealing with treacherous people, honest ones would suffer losses.

At that time, there needs to be someone equally treacherous and cunning to do the job.

The art of management is to make the best use of resources and talents.

Regarding Jack, Bai Xiaosheng had long seen his potential. What needed to be done was to make Jack completely submit.

Seeing Jack as he was, Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, ”Mr. Jack, although you’ve lost your position in the family business, you probably don’t want to just idle about.”

”You’ve wronged me, and I’m still a bit uncomfortable about it.”

”I think, why don’t you come work for me, as my assistant? The employment term will last as long as my cooperation with your family lasts. What do you think?”
